    The XVive, as far as quality of sound and reliability, is fantastic. That being said, I can't recommend this product after having used it a few years ago. The 2.4 signal is very strong and it wipes out pretty much any wifi network in range. We used this for a special event at our church when we brought in some extra musicians and needed some quick IEM mixes. Worked fantastic at rehearsal, everyone was happy. Music starts for the event and what do you know, the entire wifi network for the check-in process goes down because its all laptops and iPads on wifi. I've also had a few friends use this at venues using rack mounted mixers using tablet connected interfaces and everything goes down. The product is incredible but the interference makes this an absolute avoid for me.

      That’s interesting, I’ve personally used it on stage while also controlling mixers through WiFi and not had any issues. My setting also has between 3-4 others using these same IEM set ups and tablets connected to WiFi, so I wonder if maybe your scenario is more of that setting in a church where there is so many things going on at once. Maybe these XVive units are just not built to accommodate that massive amount of different WiFi networking for everything s church might do on through a Sunday service. Appreciate you sharing your experience though.

      @@malonedrum man ole man I am getting old. There's no more "everything hard wired"? No more cables running all over the stage covered with ducktape? Wi-Fi you say?

    thats good you review the device you use yourself for several years

      It’s not always the case, because I also enjoy trying new things when companies reach out, but in this case I very much was excited to review this when they asked, because I have used it for years.

    So Mike, what's it like with ear plugs compared to the feel of 4 15" wolfers stacked up on the drum riser. The sound engineer produces low end bass that rumble from kick & bass guitar together could crack the walls.

      get a thumper. I use a porter Davies bc2 with my inears. makes a huge difference

      Can’t say I play a lot of settings where I’d be able to have 4 15” woofers stacked on a drum riser, so you got me there…

    Can I use 1 Xvive U4 transmitter and 15 receivers connected to that 1 transmitter? Thanks!

    • @malonedrum
      @malonedrum  5 месяцев назад

      I can’t speak to that volume of receivers, but that would be a great question to ask XVive directly.

    these were not out when I got my in-ear system 10 years ago. I bought the shure psm900 receiver and eventually got myself some jh audio drivers. these look solid for the price though

      You probably made a great choice, but I agree this price point is a lot less intimidating.
