  • In today's video, we are checking out an extremely affordable wireless in ear monitor system that is wireless, true stereo, has a lot of channel options, and more. This is the S3 wireless in ear monitor system by Anleon. This is a very nice wireless IEM system that I feel is meant to compete with the entry level Shure and Sennheiser stuff, but on a budget. Definitely worth checking out, as I have been gigging with it over the last few weeks and it's worked very well. Thanks Anleon for sending this for me to check out. It's not a paid video, and the opinions in here are my own.

    I purchased the Anleon S2 yesterday based on your video and I'm excited about it, I will hopefuly get it next week. S3 looks amazing but It's out of my budget. However, I found a video of a guy building a couple simple cable adapters to get 2 mono signals with one S2 transmitter and It is as simple as just connecting both signals lines to Left or Right. That can save a lot of money as well!

    Did a gig a few days ago and had something happen that has never happened before with my sennheiser g3. Scanned the environment several times and had 0 "free" frequencies. I couldn't find a good channel and the interference was unbearable. Weird. That only ever happens in my bedroom. Every venue i play usually gets 10+ free frequencies.
    Cheers!

    Hey Scott, thanks for the review. Because your channel giving insight into a few wireless systems, especially the inexpensive ones sure clears the decision-making aspect. I have purchased a few products you have featured in past reviews for instruments (NUX C-5RC, Phenyx PTG-11, and Sennheiser Pro G4). My band uses older Sennheiser G3 for IEM and they work well, but having access to a channel like yours is definitely a working musician's asset. Thank you very much!

Looking to start small/kinda hybrid where myself (guitar) and our bass player will share the mix our drummer is getting from our tracks rig (ST3!!! We love that app!) we will just be getting click & backing tracks for now, and everything else thru the wedges…. So thoughts on these verses the phenyx? I do like that the phenyx can mount the antenna to the front of the rack
      Anyway now seeing this I’m a bit torn…..

    Again, a great review, thanks Scott!
    In my opinion, a massive "plus" is, that the phones-out jack is properly mounted with a nut at the housing. Shure and Sennheiser do the same, but many of the chaep systems, and, as far as I know, unfortunately audio-technica also, use a jack-out, that is NOT mounted with a nut, but instead is only soldered directly to the pcb with the socket poking through a hole in the housing. This design is cheap, but it is a nightmare, regarding reliability. It often only needs one proper pull at the cable, and the soldered connection on the pcb breaks off or the soldering pads get completely ripped off of the pcb... This became even more of a problem, after lead-free solder became standard, as this solder is more brittle than lead-solder... In my workshop, within ALL units of modern electronic, broken off connectors, pots, switches etc. that were soldered directly onto the pcb are BY FAR the most common reason for failure.
    It would be very interesting to have a look inside some of those transmitters, to see the design. E.g. if the jack-sockets are mounted on a small extra pcb and then are wired with small cables, a design without a nut could be fine, otherwise, imho it is really very bad design. I would particularly be interested in the internal design of the ATW3255 transmitter, as I am really interested in buying this system for my own use, but it's the design of the output jack, that I have doubts about...

Has the typical top end hiss and compression associated with this type of wireless, but I didn’t have any dropouts or interference (I was the only one using wireless). I used the maximum amount of pad on the transmitter input so I could leave the buss output at zero db. It worked perfectly. Drummer was crazy loud. I was the only one on stage with usable monitors.

Do you think the S3 will still perform well in that setting? And also, did you have any sort of interference if the crowd is between the stage (receiver) and the transmitter?
    Thanks so much for your helpful reviews!! Stay awesome 🌞

    • @ScottUhlMusic
      @ScottUhlMusic  Год назад

      Yup I bet this would work great with that! Probably for a few hundred people, so it worked well. Wireless mostly depends on how much wireless signal is already there. And range can be effected if there is no line of sight from the antenna to the receiver, but that’s true for basically any wireless 👍

    Does the S3 have rack mounting options? I have only seen it as a stand alone. If it is rack mountable, especially if you can attach 2 transmitters together, I will likely replace my Galaxy not true Stereo IEMs.

      Even if you cannot rack Mount them, the Shure makes a 1U rack shelf and you can Velcro it down 👍 That’s how I did it for a while

    How would you rate this against the Phenyx Pro PTM-10 unit? Looks like similar specs but $70 more.

      Haha man I’m getting a lot of this question! I might have to do a video on it. I think they are both fantastic. I would recommend either one for entry level wireless IEM systems
