This is the noisiest vehicle I’ve ever owned, but one of the funnest to drive. I’ll give it a few years, but they’re getting it back.
Excellent video with great explanations on everything. Very helpful for the first oil change on my ST. Thank you!
Glad it could help. Thank you!
Excellent video Thanx - Where can you buy that UPR drain plug?
Thanks. I think all the major places have it you can buy it from their website at UPRproducts.com and I’m fairly certain that lethal and wish motorsports has them too.
Have you done the spark plugs yet?
Not yet but it’s on the short list to do. AutoZone has the Bosch plugs ZFG recommend I just have to order them.
I have a 2022 xlt it has a standard steel drain bolt plug.
Must have the NA v6 in it.
@@KnightsGarage 2.3 ecoboost
@@lneal3720 weird. I thought all the eco-boost had the plastic Pan. Maybe they ran out of the plastic pans because of supply shortage. I wish they would’ve ran out before they built mine. Lol
@@KnightsGarage late model 2022. A plastic drain plug just seems absurd. Maybe easier to fix if cross threaded but i cant think of any other reason for it.
2.3 come with the standard metal plug except ST
Have you or anyone who purchased this drain plug had any problems with oil leaking for the drain plug valve?
I haven’t and I don’t know anyone else that has. I know if you don’t stick a small piece of Shop towel inside and clean it out after you close it what’s left in there can dribble out overtime but nothing is coming out of the pan it’s just coming out of that short spout on the plug itself.
I stick a small piece of a shop towel that I tear off and clean the small tube out on the plug itself then insert the rubber plug into the end and I’ve never had any oil on the underpan when I removed it. Just did another oil change about a week.
Wish I would have known this before getting my wife's st. Engine top filters are bad enough. Ford's stupidity of needing the entire underskirting being removed for an oil change is bad enough. But a plastic pan and bolt? It's a $60k vehicle, not a tonka toy. Honestly, the tonka toy is all steel, so better quality. Kinda pissed now tbh. Was thinking about buying a new 150, now I'm definitely going to go with a tundra instead.
Just replace the plastic drain plug with this unit and problem solved. The new Tundra’s are sweet though!
@@KnightsGarage still the problem of the plastic parts that should be metal on a $60k vehicle. I could deal with that if it was a Kia.
@@alfhwuqd I see what you’re saying but the pan being plastic really isn’t an issue. Having it be aluminum would have no real benefit.
@@KnightsGarage true, which is why it should be steel.
@@alfhwuqd still no benefit. just heavier
Ford and trying to replace everything with plastic.
Yeah, somethings that should be plastic and other things that definitely should not be. Like an oil pan.
