Dear Jimmy. I'm afraid I may be unsubscribing from your channel. Please don't take this the wrong way. Your content is excellent, your presentations are fun, and you provide both honest information and nice examples. Plus, Charli is absolutely charming, delightful, and beautiful. No, that's not the problem. The problem is that since I've been watching your channel, I've bought ANOTHER Olympus body, and as of yesterday, three additional lenses, the latest being a 12-40/2.8. But, this. This is what sold me on the 75/1.8. It's a beautiful lens. It's everything you said it is, and more. And, that's the problem. If I keep watching your videos, I'm likely to spend myself into the local spike. Do you think there's work for a poor photog in the workhouses? Can you live with that on your conscience? I'm a charitable chap, Jimmy. I'll give you one more chance before I pull the plug. Start doing boring reviews of dreadful equipment, accompanied by some mindless, slack jaw models to provide boring commentary, and we can remain virtual pals. I won't be tempted by any more kit, and can just watch your videos as my mind drifts slowly deeper into a uT00b induced oblivion. But, if you keep it up the way you're going... *sigh* For some reason, I find myself feeling pulled to shop for a Billingham bag. Dammit, Jimmy Cheng. Dammit.
Hi Gregory, I must apologise for causing you such inconvenience and pain to your wallet but as an impartial photographer who only appreciates the best in business for what I do, I only want to share my views on what matter most for my profession. Olympus has produced some of the nice lenses that I've ever seen and I cameras that actually handles well in real life situations (and rugged), exactly what I need. Over the course of my career from a seasoned professional Canon and Leica photographer for the past decade, I can easily say that I am truly happy with my choice of using Olympus kits. However, I will respect your decision and many others have also mentioned about reviewing crappy lenses but to be frank, no matter what I review from Mr Olympus, it's going to be great and that's the truthful answer. I haven't tried them all but I am on a quest to so please bear with us for a little while until we complete our passion by completing a complete library of Olympus lenses. Once again my apology but soon we will start a series of videos showing how you can use all these lovely equipment to get some great shots! Warmest regards, Jimmy
I truly hope you didn't take me seriously, Jimmy. I really like your channel, and your straight-forward approach to reviews. It's true that you're the reason I took the plunge with both the 75/1.8 and the 12-40/2.8, but I don't regret my decisions for a second. I was a dedicated Nikon guy forever, with a brief affair with Contax. The only Olympus stuff I'd used before were 35RCs and XAs, both really nice, small cameras. I switched to Olympus last year, starting with a Pen F, and have been over the moon with the cameras and the lenses, including the recently acquired EM5-Mk2. They handle like cameras should, deliver amazing results, and I can assemble a very complete kit in a small bag that weighs about the same as one of my old Nikon bodies and a single lens! My shoulder is much happier with me now. The only think I would hope for from Olympus is a couple of longer prime telephotos, but I suspect they may come along. (I've got 12, 17, 25, 45, 60, 75, 12-40, 40-150.) I have a couple of the cheaper Olympus "kit" lenses (14-42 and 40-150) as well, and though I don't use them much, I'm quite impressed that even THEY produce surprisingly good images, and I'd have no problems recommending them. Keep up the great videos, and sorry if there was any misunderstanding.
no no no, I thought I would joke back, thus my serious tone.... hope it wasn't too serious! Your comment is very nice and funny, and we love it! There's no misunderstanding at all and thank you for your support (seriously!) After this, we hope to work harder to produce more fun videos on this magnificent platform. Cheers Gregory again and have a beautiful day! Jimmy
I have to agree with Gregory, Jimmy you have caused me to buy way too much glass over the years and I’m eventually going to end up with this M. zuiko 75mm for portraits. That being said, thank you for your top notch recommendations and creative and fun video style, not to mention your great demeanor. Keep up the fantastic content.
I'm an actor (This is my private and real ID) and part time photo enthusiast. You are unafraid of the camera and that is essential. Turning it on in all weather and conditions - people think our job is glamorous. Ha! For the fortunate few that get to the top of the game, the lifestyle and money can certainly be glamorous, but the job is not. It's long, hard work and being "on" when they call "action" regardless of how one feels, or how difficult the environment is. 😊
The 75mm is magic. I was using the 25 Pro alot more, recently changed how I approached shooting with the 75mm and going more landscape and environmental and it’s been mind blowing.
Good God, these shots are stunning, Jimmy. You sold me on this one before I finished the video. I've only just started doing some portrait photography and I get a buzz out of it, very different feeling to landscape which was 99% of what I've done before. Can't wait to try this out. All the best!
Love this lens! The sharpness and low CA give it that “pixie dust” look, and the build and size make it suit the EM1ii, EM5ii, and even the EM10ii perfectly. It goes along in my bag with my other pro primes as often as I can find a use for it. Charli-nice posing, even though you must have been freezing :)
Thanks for your review! This lens is very good and is suitable not only for amateur photography, but also for professional, portrait photography. The model in this video looks great, hello!
watching this review since there is a nice used one at my local shop. Watched many of your reviews when researching my gear. I have one suggestion for you. Wait for summertime when Charli is modelling for you. More summertime wear, versus bulky winter wear ;)
Cheers Reza! It’s a great portrait lens, a little long for my taste, 45 is better for my use as I don’t always get the space to work with. But it is a cracking piece of glass!!
Agreed. Usually i use this lens for sweet 17th's beauty shot, which not in rush finding places and taking pictures. While the rest is on 12-40 PRO. Speak of great optical glass, this lens and 12mm F2 really fantastic besides the F1.2 PRO series.
Thank's for the video. I bought this lens for my Panasonic GX8 and it fits great. A very good, small, light, discret and fast portrait lens. You may find better sharpness with FF lenses (for example the Zeiss 135 Batis), but it's much more expensive and heavy.
Thanks for watching Marc! Yes, this is a great little lens. Well, I guess sharpness is relative. Zeiss may have slightly higher resolving power but you are also looking at files that are 2-3 times higher pixel density and 4 times larger frame area, so perceive sharpness is higher. An ideal and fairer way to compare is to use have a 75mm on full frame then crop the centre section out and compare to this :)
Really enjoyable review - thanks! Thanks also for alerting me to the fact that the focus ring on my 17mm lens switches between manual and auto focus. I seriously have no idea how I didn't know about that already.
Aww, thanks for watching and liking our video!! Yes, there are lot of hidden tricks in the Olympus system and hopefully we will film a series of how to and pro tips in the near future!
I have largely moved from Olympus to Fuji but this lens is so good it keeps me invested in m43. Take it to a festival or parade for stunning candid portraits.
Absolutely Jesse! I am largely Olympus and Leica shooter but Olympus is my main workhorse these days for all most of my shoots. I would like to try Fuji one day and their glass are nice too! Jimmy
It's a travesty, beginner enthusiasts like me get influenced by some sources that present a narrative suiting just couple brands, hence focus on what their apsc ff manage. As I've began to follow more of photography online over the past year, I've landed on m43 topics/discussions/videos. I'm so amazed. I will absolutely love to buy on this system. In my country, even buying eos m100 took several months savings (it cost more then my monthly salary). Oly gear is a distant dream for now, a dream with em 5 3, wide prime, normal prime, 45mm and this 75mm.
New subscriber here who just discovered your channel researching this lens. I hope you get to review the new Sigma 56mm f1.4 as I'm going to have a tough time choosing between these two. I can't afford both. :( And it's great to see a photographer and his model have relaxed and warm interaction w each other.
Thanks Carl! There are some requests to review the Sigma lens so we will see what we can do :) But they can be very different due to the focal length, Olympus is a lot longer so it's a bit more restrictive when it comes to using it (space). But Olympus is also one of the sharpest M43 lenses ever tested and it shows. But Sigma also makes great lenses these days and I wouldn't doubt about the quality, the 56mm focal length may be more flexible.
Regarding manual focus, I am under the impression that you can just enable S-AF and M focus in the menu, and then you just turn the focus ring for manual adjustments.
gorgeous images of Charlie, stunning lens, and certainly would be nice to have but maybe it is an awkward focal length, so the way forward would be the pro 45 although rather expensive, that said for most of us hobbiests the 45 1.8 still delivers beautiful images in good light
Thanks for watching mate! Charli is stunning as always! I do agree and I like he 45 as I shoot in smaller space all the time and 45 is perfect. 1.8 is decent indeed but as a pro, kind of need the pro lens to squeeze out that last ounce of performance in dim situations.
All do I'm in a different camp (Fuji), I'm also a big proponent of mirrorless cameras, enjoying watching your vids :D By the way, great music choice...
Thanks Tomislav! All photographers welcome to our channel. Yes, I am a Olympus/Leica photographer but they are tools to me and I just them to create photos that I love and yes, I do think mirrorless IS the FUTURE! Thanks about the music, Tracey chose it :) Jimmy
I've tried many Oly primes (17, 25, 45), but ultimately the only one I kept was the 75. Wouldn't mind trying the 40-150 f2.8 - the only time I used one was in the BHPhoto in NYC...
Rom, I think you have all that’s needed. In fact, you can probably do portraits with your 40-150 just as well. I do with mine, although it’s a bit bigger to handle .
Charli Meredith is great, how about letting her make a video or two. Not a review, but more filming her tell us about her experience with different hardware.
That's an idea but hey, Charli is an actress and please follow her on IG and you will get her updates about her upcoming projects. We are intending to do something too so stay tuned!
Thank you for the video and for explaining the lens capability. I have Olympus EM5 Mark III and also 45mm f1.8 for the portrait. Now, I am thinking to get Olympus 75mm f1.8, but Sigma 56mm f1.4 looks nice option. Could you help me to suggest which one would be a better option?
Thanks Torsten, people always ask me why I never use lens hood, I do and I don't sometimes. I use it when I feel I want to have it cover, whether it's the rain or just prevent it from flare, however, there are times that I actually want to have flare on the image then I will not use the hood.
Thinking of buying this for low light speeches for wedding. We do have the 40-150 pro lense but it still dark sometimes. Will this make alot of difference? Or should we start lighting up our venues instead haha
Thanks for watching mate. Well, it will help drastically. 1.8 vs 2.8! You can lower your ISO by two stops with the same shutter speed. Ultimately, however, you will still need lights, so I often ask the venue to turn up the light just a tad before the speeches.
I know this video is going on a year old, but I'm seriously getting tempted to grab this. I've followed you for a while now since I've been Olympus curious. But I'm still (don't hate me) a Panasonic user. For portraiture this should work just as effectively on the Panasonic system, right? Your opinion? I'm not shooting fast moving sports or anything and Lumix doesn't really have an equivelant, and who knows, this could finally be my gateway drug into Olympus. :) And the 150mm equivelant doesn't bother me. I'm lucky I have a long room and shoot outside too. Cheers.
Thanks Carl! Thanks for getting in touch and glad you enjoy our contents. This lens is a beast and really is a great portrait lens.It will work well with Panasonic bodies so long it has IBIS. 150mm can be a little long if you don't have any sort of stabilisation. But other than that, you will be happy with it!
I found this interesting channel because I was (and still am) looking for a decent lens to be used with a Lumix GX85 / GX80 while shooting some indoor sport events like volleyball, sometime from the sideline, sometime from the crowd (but not too far). Any suggestion?
Thanks mate. 75mm is quite long but it has the benefit of 1.8 aperture so great for indoor sports. Because it's a fixed focal length prime lens, you need to be sure about the distance. If not, 40-150mm 2.8 is also great or the panasonic 35-100 2.8
Jimmy... I've asked before and will again, when you show the shots on these great "reviews", you need to put the shutter and aperture setting on there so we know. Unless you tell us you are shooting all at f/1.8 in this case. Otherwise, keep on doing what you do, and keep on bringing Charli in too ;-)
Thanks Craig for your comment and yes, something we would like to include but it may sound easy but this process can be pretty time consuming, especially when Tracey and I are both professionals working full time in our respected fields, I am also a father and finding time to shoot and edit for this channel can sometimes be challenging. But yes, we want to get better and will hope to get more info for all our viewers to see my settings in each photos. We are also considering doing a tutorial series on how to take pictures and utilise some of the Olympus features! And finally, Charli will be back :)
Predictions/recommendations for future videos... Lumix 200mm f2.8 12-40 f2.8 (maybe a shootout with the Lumix 12-35 f2.8?) classic Zuiko 14-35 f2 classic Zuiko 50mm f2 macro classic Zuiko 150mm f2 summilux 15mm f1.7 (maybe a shootout between all the fast 15-20mm primes?)
Charli will be back slim doubt! With the lens, helio has a very different look, vintage rendering that also suits portrait well. The new lens is more clinical, sharper and less CA. I shoot with all kinds of lenses to achieve different look so I guess you can answer the question yourself by asking what look do you like more, vintage or modern :)
Red35 Photography I would usually say the vintage look, but you took some really nice shots here, I looked up the price... it’s got a nice price too.. haha.. maybe it can stay nice...
One of my favorite lenses. A bit hard to use at first, but incredible results when used well. Amazing results in hi-res mode. Only let down by sensor ultimately. Could be weather sealed. Clutch MF thingie would be nice too. Maybe an update at some point? Grey/chrome-colored version better than the fake black-colored one. I'm sorry to see red35 chose the wrong side. :p
hahah Points taken, but personally I like the more 'stealth' black theme and all my M4/3 lenses are black, though silver is nice too. I guess, Olympus may bring out a 'Pro' version with clutch and weather sealed and also at f1.2 like the rest :) Shhhh, you heard it first here!
Tough choice, for me, it will be determined by what and where I am shooting. As a wedding and documentary photographer, I often get fairly close to my subject so 75mm is a little too long for my liking. I much prefer 45mm focal length or even 25mm 1.2 that I almost always use. Between 75mm and 42.5mm, they both have similar perceived 'sharpness' and both are very clinical and with ultra high resolving power. Olympus 45mm is more smooth when it comes to skins so, to me, I prefer that look.
Jimmy, Hello! Im already have 40-150 2.8. Do you recommend this 75 1.8 for outdoor shoot? I can have same bokeh at 100-120mm f 2.8 i think. And 40-150 is super sharp also wide open.
Вова Н. Hi there! Well, it’s a very different lens and will give you shallower depth of field and subject separation. The only thing is that it’s quite long but if you use your 40-150 for portrait, then you will be super happy about the 75mm
Dear Jimmy. Your videos are a GR8 watch. Some reviews on Dpreview forums say that this lens is not as fast focusing as other lenses in the Olly line up. Is that true?? Thanks.
Cheers mate and glad you enjoyed it! This lens is fast to focus, not the fastest but definitely no way a slow lens. Like most AF lens in this range, with huge glass elements, they won't be as quick due to the weight of the glass elements themselves, but definitely a few times faster than the legendary Canon 85mm 1.2L II, and on par if not quicker than Canon 85mm 1.8
Great video, amazing lens...i use it from 2 years, i love it. The post processing of the shoot is also interesting, do you think of share it whith your followers!?? :-) thank you for your work. W m43!!
Thanks Lucia for watching and support! I do plan to do a series on workflow at some point in the future as many has been asking. Stay tuned :) I don’t know when yet but hopefully soon.
Dear Jimmy This lens is absolutely sharp and it has a perculiar characteristic shows in the photo it takes (hmm hard to describe) BUT one big issue is I find that wide opened the chromatic abberation is TERRIBLE.. When shooting against a bright background there is VERY SERIOUS purple fringing and even green fringing when shooting signboard with white light inside.. But i never see anyone complaining about this in any review (only one person had the same issue in an online article).. Dear Jimmy did you notice it on your lens too? Or its just my copy? Had to stop down to around f2.8 to make the purple fringing dissappear..very frustrated with it sometimes
Great lens! But I prefer the Sigma 56mm f/1.4. In my opinion, the Sigma lens is sharper and the bokeh is creamy too. And maybe cheaper and more resistant.
Jimmy, I’ve got this lens but I find every time I use it the person’s face looks like they put on a few pounds. What distance should I be from my subject? Do i stand back more and crop? Charlie looks amazing in your photos, looks like it’s taken with a shorter lens. Especially the tight shot of head and shoulder, is that a cropped photo? Love your review on Olympus gears, thanks.
I have the 45 1.8 and this 75 1.8. the 75mm is a much better lens no question. That being said 75mm is not a easy focal lenght to play with trust me. It's often slighty too long.. You need to try that lens. The sigma 56f1.4 is not as long and have great shallow dof and bokeh. Between the 2 I would take the 45 f1.2.
Great review. Better production quality than most of the biggest youtube photography channels. Keep up the good work! Also does this lens feel noticeably longer than 135mm on full-frame or is it about the same? I've always like 135mm but it's already a bit tight.
i called it the Bitch, with the E5mk2 I had 50% unsharp pictures ..with my new E1Mk3 it performances perfect, if I have enough room I take this instead the 45mm
Women seems to always be preocupated by size... 😋 First time here and i must say i love the way you present things, much less boring than a guy talking tech spec in front of camera
Thanks Gregory!! I don’t (probably won’t) remember the specifications of anything anyway so I might as well talk as I use the lens, from my experience rather than testing on brick walls and look at sharpness charts!
Is It just me, or is Charli making slightly inappropriate comments about lens size...? And she's a champ for taking off the jacket in what looks like stupidly cold weather.
From her expression, Charleen has absolutely no clue of what Jimmy was talking about. She has virtually zero interest in Jimmy's tech talk, from what I can tell. Hahaha, poor lady.
Dear Jimmy.

A professional model with a great attitude makes a huge difference to any shoot. Congratulations on finding one!
David Barber thank you so much! That’s so kind of you to say! 😊

Great chemistry with the model -- and a very outstanding video overall. This is one of best RUclips channels regardless of category.
Thank you!!! It's you who give us support and motivation to do more! Thanks again for your support and stay tuned!!

Cheralynn haha it was a little chilly! But worth it for the shots!! (And the fun we had making the video!!)
Thanks for watching Cheralynn! Charli was a trooper :)
Great review, great lens, stunning images, beautiful model. Enough said.
these portrait shots between 8:10 - 8:26 min. are fantastic for a mtf sensor
Loved the format, chatting with Charlie, you both come across as very nice, natural and relaxed. Oh, and I want that lens now!
Awesome video! Oh, and loving the model! 🤩✌🏻
Cheers mate
Thanks for your review! This lens is very good and is suitable not only for amateur photography, but also for professional, portrait photography. The model in this video looks great, hello!

Ooooh yes, Red35s opinion on the 75mm!! Thanks a lot for this review and of course for your beautiful shots and model!! :-)
Cheers Bart! Your support is much appreciated! Charli is a superb model indeed :) Jimmy
My most fave lens in m43 system!!! well done Red35!!

Cheers Evan glad you enjoy the review!
Jimmy: Wow... is dreams come true...Amazing review & beautiful model ever👍
Thanks Larry! Yes, you asked for it and it's here :) Thanks for the support!
My best lens and I will be taking a few Mother’s Day portraits down at the beach with it today.
Nice way to celebrate and take some cracking portraits of mum! Have a good one!
Thank's for the video.

I am surprised you do not use a lens hood. I love my 75/1.8 and use it already more than 3 years.
I don't normally make this type of comment for the sake of propriety, but Charli is absolutely stunning.
Cheers Jesse, Charli will appreciate your comment :) I will pass it on!
she is probably the best I have seen in youtube space. Her interaction is great and not to mention she is absolutely gorgeous :-)
Such quality content... Thank you for the awesome review guys! :)
Cheers Tim! Much appreciated your comment and support! Hope you have a great day!

Cheers Michael! It's definitely a very cool lens!
I just bought the 75 last night! Olympus is selling it for $600 (Originally $900!) so really looking forward to using it for pet portraits!!!
Great team and very good info. Thumbs up!
thanks for watching!
your model is very photogenic
New to MFT. Your content is fantastic.
Gorgeous lens and model
Hello Jimmy,
Wonderfull photos! Are they shooted without flash?
Another very nice video! Splendid images! Regards Ulf
Thanks Ulf!! Much appreciated your support :) We are glad you liked the video!
Regarding manual focus, I am under the impression that you can just enable S-AF and M focus in the menu, and then you just turn the focus ring for manual adjustments.
Yes you can. But the manual clutch is really good, try it and you will know what I mean :)
Excellent review, as always. What a great team.
Just got it for my Panasonic G9. I'm usually an urbex, and architecture guy, will try portraits.
Thanks for watching mate. Enjoy your new lens and Merry Christmas!
@@Red35Photography Merry xmas to you too
gorgeous images of Charlie, stunning lens, and certainly would be nice to have but maybe it is an awkward focal length, so the way forward would be the pro 45 although rather expensive, that said for most of us hobbiests the 45 1.8 still delivers beautiful images in good light
Zardos Spinosa thank you!! Glad you enjoyed it! 😊
Thanks for watching mate! Charli is stunning as always! I do agree and I like he 45 as I shoot in smaller space all the time and 45 is perfect. 1.8 is decent indeed but as a pro, kind of need the pro lens to squeeze out that last ounce of performance in dim situations.
All do I'm in a different camp (Fuji), I'm also a big proponent of mirrorless cameras, enjoying watching your vids :D
By the way, great music choice...
What a banger lens.
Literally half the cost of the Panasonic 42.5mm f1.2. You saved me a pretty penny my dude
Awesome shots.
Glad you enjoyed it
it is still my favourite lens, although I have the 12-40 and the 40-150 pro also.
Nice combo you have there already Romain! 12-40 is brilliant and the 40-150 just just awesome!
Thanks for the review. Cant wait to get one!!!
Thanks David. Yes, Olympus does have lots of nice lenses and if budget allows, I would get the whole lot (in the ideal world that is 😂)
Charli Meredith is great, how about letting her make a video or two.
Not a review, but more filming her tell us about her experience with different hardware.
That's an idea but hey, Charli is an actress and please follow her on IG and you will get her updates about her upcoming projects. We are intending to do something too so stay tuned!
I love your images, Jimmy!
Cheers Tomasz! Much appreciated mate
great video and informative as always! And congrats on hitting the 10k mark!
Thanks mate!!! Much appreciated your support and have a nice day!
Well, I would take the 75mm if you have 45 already. 56mm is not too different to 45 but you will get shallower DoF
Red35 Photography thanks much and it’s makes sense. Thank agin...75mm f1.8 would be my next lens
Another wonderfull review!
Thanks mate for your support and glad to hear that you enjoyed our video! Have a great weekend.
Nice Video. I'd like to know why you don't use a lens hood?
Thanks Torsten, people always ask me why I never use lens hood, I do and I don't sometimes. I use it when I feel I want to have it cover, whether it's the rain or just prevent it from flare, however, there are times that I actually want to have flare on the image then I will not use the hood.
The sharpest lens from Olympus
Absolutely :) Thanks Javier for watching mate!
@@Red35Photography Thanks for the quick reply! Yes, I own the G9, so I have IBIS. Cheers!
@@carls.2649You are welcome mate.
@@Red35Photography Great, thank you! The price increases a lot so I have to properly evaluate what to buy. Thank you again.
Charlie === x100 artistry
Yay!!!
Predictions/recommendations for future videos...
Lumix 200mm f2.8
12-40 f2.8 (maybe a shootout with the Lumix 12-35 f2.8?)
classic Zuiko 14-35 f2
classic Zuiko 50mm f2 macro
classic Zuiko 150mm f2
summilux 15mm f1.7 (maybe a shootout between all the fast 15-20mm primes?)
Love this list and I will do my best to fulfill it :) can’t promise but we will try for sure!
I'm curious, aside from the autofocus and the weight, do you think this has much over an old vintage portrait lens? such as the helios M42
Your model is super cute btw, can we have more of her?
Charli will be back slim doubt! With the lens, helio has a very different look, vintage rendering that also suits portrait well. The new lens is more clinical, sharper and less CA. I shoot with all kinds of lenses to achieve different look so I guess you can answer the question yourself by asking what look do you like more, vintage or modern :)
Red35 Photography I would usually say the vintage look, but you took some really nice shots here, I looked up the price... it’s got a nice price too.. haha.. maybe it can stay nice...
Wouldn't be much of a model if she was butt ugly now would she? #statetheobvious
Great video... This or the pana Leica 42.5 1.2 or Olympus 45 1.2?
Tough choice, for me, it will be determined by what and where I am shooting. As a wedding and documentary photographer, I often get fairly close to my subject so 75mm is a little too long for my liking. I much prefer 45mm focal length or even 25mm 1.2 that I almost always use. Between 75mm and 42.5mm, they both have similar perceived 'sharpness' and both are very clinical and with ultra high resolving power. Olympus 45mm is more smooth when it comes to skins so, to me, I prefer that look.
I love the Panasonic actually. its the best for video work
Jimmy, Hello!
@@Red35Photography Thank you for super-quick answer
Is a good choice for night sky photography?
gorgeous feel when using this glass. j.
Absolutely mate! Definitely a gorgeous lens! But we all need a gorgeous models like Charli too ❤️📸
charli? yes she is a lovely lady, but the lens is just as nice. xxx for both. j.
Great review!
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the reply Jimmy. Great!! It is on my bucket list now. The front lens element looks damn awesome though. It's a beauty.
@@kaushaltiwari9773 You are welcome. This is a stunning lens indeed.
I love your preset! :)
Red35 Photography ok thank you....but i'm Lucio not Lucia (female) 😄😛
My apology and I thought it was the auto-correct (blaming it!)
Red35 Photography ahahah don't worry! ;-)
Dear Jimmy
This lens is absolutely sharp and it has a perculiar characteristic shows in the photo it takes (hmm hard to describe) BUT one big issue is I find that wide opened the chromatic abberation is TERRIBLE..
Jimmy, I’ve got this lens but I find
every time I use it the person’s face looks like they put on a few pounds.
What distance should I be from my subject? Do i stand back more and crop?
Charlie looks amazing in your photos, looks like it’s taken with a shorter lens.
Especially the tight shot of head and shoulder, is that a cropped photo?
Love your review on Olympus gears, thanks.
So, 75mm f1.8 or 45mm f1.2? I already have the 45mm f1.8, but it might be time for something a bit more serious.
One prob i have with this beautiful lens is the lens cap keep dropping off.
First time here, very nice.
Cheers Velado!!! Hope you like our videos and subscribe:)
but the PRO zooms are F2.8 so this must be better ?
Stunning bokeh 👍👌
One of best lenses for mft...i have it over than 2 years ago, is still my favourite about pairs with the Nocticron Panasonic Leica..
Cheers Lucio mate for watching!
Is it 75mm 1.8 a manual focus lens? Or an autofocus lens? Please reply..because i want to buy it..thanks
It's an autofocus lens. But you can manual focus it like others ;) If you are in UK, let me know I can get you discount.
@@Red35Photography thank you sir! Im here in s.korea
2021, I'm still watching after I rent Oly 75 F1.8 and 40-150F2.8 lol
She is so nice and refreshing :)
There is 56mm F1.4 from Sigma is good alternativ
What olympus camera is this?
EM-1 Mark II
@@Red35Photography should I get this or the pen f,
@@leoslash both are great cameras but depends what you shoot. EM1 has better AF and videos, PEN-F is more discrete and compact
i called it the Bitch, with the E5mk2 I had 50% unsharp pictures ..with my new E1Mk3 it performances perfect, if I have enough room I take this instead the 45mm
Doesnt have the pro label but its definitely pro, optically at least...well I guess minus the metal and no weather sealing.
This lens is awesome! Well, it's metal, just no weather sealing :)
Hello there!
Hey hey!
❤
I find the 75mm lens works best on small models like children, newborns and yes pet photography.
Is this great for wedding speeches?
Yes if you are pretty far away and whether you want head and shoulder or half body. It has a long reach
And you're totally right, keep going... You've win a new subscriber right now 😉
Thanks Gregory! We certainly will keep going! Glad you enjoy our videos so far :) Have a nice day.
We miss Charli
Is It just me, or is Charli making slightly inappropriate comments about lens size...?
And she's a champ for taking off the jacket in what looks like stupidly cold weather.
OMG, Charli was a trooper and very professional. Yes it was quite cold but she braved it out for the photos!
It was cold, that's why she said it looked dinky and shrunken.
raksh9 goodness. No inappropriateness was intended, not considered. It was just such a much smaller lens than the previous one.
Charli Meredith You've got to admit, it was a dinky one, haha
guys you re adorable..
Awww, sweeetttt! Thanks Mustafa for your kind words and support :) Have a great day!
Why is he boring the model by explaining the technical specs of his lens to her?
I hardly use that "portrait lens" for portraits.
Is she a daughter of Rachel Weisz?
From her expression, Charleen has absolutely no clue of what Jimmy was talking about. She has virtually zero interest in Jimmy's tech talk, from what I can tell. Hahaha, poor lady.
I see a very young Rachel Weisz here.

Cheers!👍🏻👍🏻
TFW you're desperately trying to spot any softness, bad bokeh, or aberrations, and all you can look at is the model.
