must be the use of stringed instruments and the pentatonic scales
that's quite strange, but early actual Japanese music around the Edo period barely used pentatonic scales, this interpretation is greatly due to the influence of Orientalism, or the European interpretation of Eastern music, which sometimes was very reductive.
Really wanna run a D&D campaign just to use this in a tavern scene.

@ slower speeds ( I find .75 optimal ) it becomes much more calming and meditative.Give it a try
It does sound much slower and more calming, but the audio also becomes a bit quality. Too bad the settings don’t let you pick a custom speed. Maybe .85 would have better sound quality while also keeping the calm tone? Thanks for the suggestion!
