This is a gorgeous build - nice work!
What a great end result and video submission. Best banksia pod project I’ve seen.
Thanks kevin! It was sure a learning curve using it but definitely worth it.
5:55 why pressure and not vacuum? Both, the video and the workmanship of the woodworking is just great
Thanks Martin, I don’t have a vacuum but if I did I would have definitely used that instead.
Hello my friend. spectacular. Special fishing net construction. Good work, I looked at him with admiration. A very good idea. Congratulations..
that was way cool! i would be afraid to use some thing so BEAUTIFUL! thank you for sharing
Beautiful!!
That’s badass! I love the creativity for the handle stock.
So much quality in this project. Don't know what was a banksia!Really nice result.
Thanks a ton! I didn’t either until this build.
Brilliant and great finish. I’ve never seen anything like the Banksia pod before
This looks so cool.
Thanks Lucas!
That's a beautiful piece of work!!!
Thanks Karl!
Wooow amazing,
really cool job!! hand looked sweet.
I never thought a landing net could look badass....👌
Thanks man, sure means a lot! It was a crazy fun build.
The net was a very cool item and I really loved the design
Awesome video! The net looks amazing
Thank you! @ totalboat
Looks amazing!
Great project 👍
Thank you!!
Any reason behind using epoxy over say, titebond 3? Going to make a few nets myself.
How thick were the strips of wood you used?
Great handle and build. Where did you get the net and what type of line did you use to tie it on?
Awesome! How thin and wide are you making the strips for the hoop?
Looks amazing Great job! I enjoyed the video Could you share with me the approximate size of the form you built for your net?
Nice job. Looks awesome. Why use resin instead of wood glue for the thin pieces. Is it stronger?
That’s awesome, where did you get the rubber net from?
Where do you get the material for this project? Love the video want to do one of my own projects like this!
Amazing! What was the liquid you put on the pod before the resin? Was that a stabilizer?
I stabilized it with a very thin CA glue. Worked great.
Great video!. I’m just wondering when you bend the wood do you just soak it in water or do you steam it. And if you soak it in water how long do you do it for. Also how do you put a groove in with a file?
I soaked it in hot water for about 30 minutes. As for the groove I just filled it in slowly and it didn’t take to long.
Sweet. How long did you let the wood soak in the tube before bending it?
Only about an hour.
Just an idea but maybe put down wax paper on top of the form jig?or tape? idk there's a solution for sure
