    Another stunning build by the MUZ Shop. The longer handle will keep the reach in canoe to minimum. Cool film edits and craftsmanship tricks (using pencil eraser as bumper). Awesome!!

    Great looking net, and very well done video. Thanks for sharing . I watched your other net video and I have to agree cutting in the grove always makes me very nervous. Out of 35 nets I only messed 1 up. Headwaters Landing Nets

    What bit did you use to route the grove for the net string?

    • @TheMuzShop
      @TheMuzShop  2 года назад

      I got a 1/16" grove bit then put a bearing on it so it would only cut an 1/8 " deep. Here is the type of router bit you can use then find the right size bearing amzn.to/3TxT50o .
      Hope this helps.

    I am thinking of making my own Lansing net. I dont have much experience working with wood what will probably be evident by my question. Can i not just cut a frame from a wood plank instead of building the arch with laminate?

    • @TheMuzShop
      @TheMuzShop  2 года назад +1

      I really don't think it will be strong enough. Having 4 or 5 layers of laminate strips make it real strong and thin. There are two other net making videos on my channel to help you out...check them out.ruclips.net/video/HqT_9_nkn7E/видео.html

    Is there any way to make the groove for the net tying string without a router and table? Thanks, excellent videos. Oh what glue are you using?

    • @TheMuzShop
      @TheMuzShop  5 лет назад

      Kelly Peterson I haven’t come up with a way to make the grove without a router. I wish I knew sorry. For glue I’ve used titebond 2 and 3 and they both work fine. Titebond 3 is supposed to be water resistant??? One good thing about 3 it has a longer assembly time , which you may need. Thx for watching and good luck on the grove.

    Is wetting the wood allowing it to absorb some moisture to make it easier to bend to the shape ?

    Great video and beautiful net! Why the eraser on the bit? to keep from damaging the side on the net?

    • @TheMuzShop
      @TheMuzShop  6 лет назад

      Joey Gaston Thanks!! Yes, when I was making my first couple of net and they were all sanded and finished I would scare the net with drill, so one day I decided to put the eraser bumper on and I’ve been using it ever since. I know u can buy something like it and I have one but it doesn’t work well on that small of a drill bit. Thanks again.

      As for the router bit.....Thanks! The router bit is a CMT 822.316.11B, 1 7/8" diameter and 1/16" thick . I know I got it online but can't remember if it was CMT website or amazon , the bearing is 1 3/4" D, so there is only an 1/8" cutting. That I got at a local bearing shop that is now close down. Look around you find something that will work , remember it does have to be CMT. I believe the bits are call grove bits....Thanks again Muz
