Both DAW's are brilliant. FL Studio is a good place to start making beats, Logic is better to mix vocals and beats, and create a full song
Lol 😂
Fl is definitely better for beats, the work flow is better and more intuitive. If you are looking to record vocals use pro tools logic to me is just something I use when I’m bored but when I actually want to get work done and get serious then I use pro tools and fl
@@marcbenitez3227bro got three DAWs to suit his mood 😤
If Avid put effort into making Pro Tools good for making beats and not only for recording and mixing, it would be perfect@@marcbenitez3227
@@marcbenitez3227 ive been an engineer for 20 years. ive used Pro tools, Logic, Ableton, and FL. FL is the best for eveything. i used Pro Tools for 15 years and switched to FL.
Thank you for been very honest with us bro 🙏🏾
I appreciate your emphasis on the tools being a means to an end, and the important thing being our creative output. I started learning beat making back in the Sony Acid Pro era (5.0). Then, I transitioned over to Reason for a time. But I had a realization that my output was better away from the computer entirely. Now, I use a Roland MC-707 for composition, arrangement, and gain staging, then do a 2-track out to my trusty field recorder (Tascam DR-05X). Whatever process gels with you as an individual is the right process. DAW of choice, dedicated hardware workstation, and so on.
amazing review bro, thanks for giving heads up to upcoming producers!
Any time!
Man when you described that wall in fl studio it was honestly the first time I thought someone understood my problem perfectly! I have an idea for a loop, spend hours fine tuning it only to then feel kinda "blegh", where to go from here. Greta video man
Thanks for watching.
Thank you for helping your fellow producers. This is absolutely and precisely true. I have used them both.
Very informative and interesting video, thanks X
You’re welcome 😊
Man what you said is very correct because I also have both FL studio and logic Pro the way I use both is I incorporate both the DAW s.... I use logic Pro to create more melodies and when it comes to beat creation I'll open FL studio as a vst in logic Pro and program my beats using the both DAW sin rewaire that's a real fun and very cunning way of music production from my point of view....
anyway I liked your video your presentation is just symple and very easy to understand
Man you worded everything precisely how i felt using logic.
Originally i started with GB so you can kinda say i started with logic, but im fully delighted within fl studio for years.
Recently i purached logic pro, and it felt like going back to your roots while living in another country.
The points you're making like the clicking in fl studio is very true, i noticed myself touching more knobs in logic than drawing things, even when i dont have the keyboard, instead of drawing notes in PR i usually first use the build-in key board from logic and play around, something you would not see me doing in fl, unless i really want to have that sound i have in my head, have it captured before i 4get.
My workflow also changed, that feeling of being stuck is less common, when i come back to fl i feel more like i know what i wanna do, and then i also realise how crap fl's stock plugins are (VSTs are still fire tough)
I also finish tracks more often than having dozens of unfinished beats in fl.
Also in fl it felt indeed like i was in a sort some of loop lol but thats only when i switched to logic that i realised that lol
Ofcourse there're things i prefer more in fl its also more user-friendly and straightforward sometimes if i need things done quick and i cant achieve the thing i want in logic, transfer the sample to fl and it gets done, i still use both daws to create music but am leaning more into my roots.
Besides its also good for film scoring.
Im not yet ready to sweat my butt of in protools
Glad to hear! the logic workflow is really working for me and Im still trying to find a way I can take advantage of both DAWs,Pro Tools is great but I don't think for the music I make I will need it anytime soon.
I use Reason Studio, Logic, FL Studio, and Ableton. I also have Bitwig, MPC Studio, and Cubase, but I rarely open them up these days.
Logic was my first love and I tried FL but it was really hard for me. You the only person who did meaningful tutorials on Logic though, keep up the great work 🙏🏾
I appreciate that!
Thanks for the video, I was one person who was hoping you can do a video of why you switch, comparing the two D.A.W's...
Thanks for the idea!

Thank God the Algorithm showed me your video. I have been going through not finishing songs for the longest time. This video opened my mind to new possibilities.
Glad to hear the video helped.
I use logic or serato studio.
I experienced the same improvement in my compositions and arrangements when I started using logic.
I started making music on LMMS, moved from there to FL, which was an amazing upgrade, I’ve been using it for a long time and my work flow has been amazing, i had so much issues with FL just like you said , it’s limited, makes me wanna rely on Third parties Plugins, and the crashes “omg” so annoying, and the lost of files just after you finished producing and saved your work , you come back later to check them out only to find out they gone.
Okay what about recording vocals (Songs) very complicated with the setup, i got tired and started looking for different daw that’s good for recording asap without complications, i tested ABLETON LIVE, was okay but not my thing, finally watched a lot of tutorials about Logic, and i fell in love with the Interface and Workflows, I’m just saving up money so i can get a Mac 💻 and start making music that i love without looking back.
What make you think that FL is limited ?
@@trgrgtgrtgr7724 try it yourself and find out
And you will. You have the Mac now and you are blasting off. See it breath it be it
Fl only crashes when you have a cracked version LMAO
I NEVER get crashes or have any limitations whatsoever
The problem with fl studio is that it's so powerful you can do the same thing like five different ways.
You can create whatever workflow you like
I have been producing since the mid 90s on hardware using midi keyboards and samplers. I've used the Korg triton, mpc, cubase, nuendo, studio one, reaper, acid, Ableton, koala sampler on my phone, and many others, but NOTHING, and I mean nothing is as powerful or as intuitive as fl studio.
Every single time I make music in another daw it sounds like shit
So many of my tricks that make my music so unique is impossible or extremely complicated to do in any other daw.
@@TheMatrixofMeaning what do you mean, that’s never true.
I never copped FL crack version, i copped the Signature version which cost me about 1000k euros, and i use high processed Laptop for my productions, can’t count how many times I’ve lost my file due to Fl crashes.
Don’t get me started.
Great review my guy. So helpful. I wanted to 🤐; but hmmm have to say you sound like my homie. I’m from Zim🇿🇼😂
Please kindly do a tutorial producing Amapiano on logic. 🙏🏾
i think if you right click on your dmd in logic through the arranger and select pattern region youll get the same workflow for your drums as you would in fl. it saves me alot on drums in logic
same here, I don't really use Ultrabeat anymore since I found that out haha
Can you elaborate on that some more? Better work flow how, compared to before clicking on your dmd?

Reason 5 is the sp1200 or asr10 of DAWS 🤫
Occasional Fl. Studio user/hobbyist since 2010. I have Cubase pro 11 but the Cubase workflow appears clunky to me. With baby steps I'm learning Logic Pro iPad. I like how I can use AUv3's in my workflow. Fl. Studio has their Zgame editor which is amazing. So, I'm using both.
How is Logic On iPad so far ?
Started on FL almost 20yrs ago (when it was still Fruity Loops), stayed on it for about 7-9yrs or so. Made the jump to Ableton Live & never looked back.
It was confusing at first however after learning the DAW, it's now seamless for me! I realized that it does take a bit longer to finish a project however I know that the final result will be worth it.
Would I ever consider going back to FL? To be honest, I highly doubt I would go back. I'll be willing to work in it but I cannot see myself making a full return & making it my go-to DAW.
Yo! your story is the same as mine bro I started on Fruity Loops 3.5 on a Pentium 3 computer 😄
@@XDizzleMusic I still have my flp files from Fruity Loops 3. I cringe everytime I listen to them 🤣
Ableton seems dope. The clip view is confusing to me, arrangement view looks like a familiar workflow.
I still remember the sound of fruity loops 3, I think fruity loops 6 was when it started to sound good. After using FL for years for Beats and Cubase for Recording, even after FL was also decent at recording vocals, I still used Cubase, But after using Ableton Live, I never looked back.
I started on FL and im still on FL. Don't let those "i stArTED oN Fl buT tHEn i sWiTChed tO AbLeTOn, iTS sO muCh BeTTEr" fool you. 99% of those people commenting this are people that don't know 30% of FL's studio features.
Bro you make really great music! Due you think your Tracks have improved since moving from FL Studio to Logic? Did you ever tried Ableton?
My music has improved so much since I moved to Logic I will share how in a video soon,I have tried Ableton yes video link: ruclips.net/video/bmvq_ASWlGQ/видео.html
FL is like "check out all my features". Logic is like "shut up and make music".
It's worth noting that you can use FL Studio as a plugin in any other DAW. I use Cubase for recording and anything audio and mixing but i use fl studio for MIDI. I learnt on cubase wayback on version 3 and used that exclusively until i switched to Ableton for a while. Then i figured out that a lot of workflow issues and things i didn't like could be fixed by combining FL Studios excellent piano roll and beat making workflow with Cubase's Audio, Routing and mixer.
I’ve said this so much! Haha the drum sequencer printing into logic was always super helpful
Musicianship is the word, I think. :)
Thanks for the video, by the way! Very nice to know your experience!
Yes! Thank you!

Great Comparison X... For me My first love is Fl Studio, But im learning Reaper to be my 2nd daw Whenever i feel uninspired in Fl studio.
😊 Thanks fam, which genre do you make in reaper?
@@XDizzleMusic Mainly all....House, Hiphop, Dance hall, Reggae, Dubstep.... I generally try everything I can on that daw and it's efficient.
Having used different DAWs in my time, FL Studio will remain as my main DAW, as someone who uses a lot of the "things" that make FL's workflow "unique" as my bread & butter methods i.e.(peak controller, mixer link automation, envelope controller, patcher, pianoroll "limit" tool especially it's basically the 'autotune' of chords lol, automation clip system, keyboard controller...) there's simply no replacing it. The secret for me has always been to try to make different genres of music every now and then, that forces you use your DAW differently then how you're used to doing it regularly, that's one of the ways I discovered some of these "weird" tools that are available in FL that many people don't seem to know about or use.
These people know nothing about FL STUDIO. They only know basic stuff. Piano roll alone has tons of magnificent & unique features. It doesn't end there, there are many others even in arrangement & plugins. There's great integrated linkage between them. Patcher alone also is huge enough to stand for FL STUDIO. People must use whatever they want but they must say no to conspiracy theories
FL studio is my favourite too. but sometimes ill close it and open cubase, protools etc. i dont want to have a reason not to engage in other daws and plus knowledge in other daws kinda helps when people ask "Why not use this instead of fl" as mch as i also love Logic and studio one, fl gives me cleaner mixes through my special use of the limiter and i havent found an alternative in any other DAW
I'd love to see a video in this style about Digital Performer as well
Is that a DAW?
@@XDizzleMusic It is indeed!
I used FL since version 4. Recently started using Cubase and even Ableton for a bit. I see what you mean by musicianship. FL sdid have me stuck in loops sometimes. Plus keyboard didn’t always sync up and CCfuntctions had to be put in by hand.
I think it might be problem in setting. My CC funtions work automatically when recording. And keyboard does work very fine with it. My main midi keyboard is Nektar LX88+ and Korg Nanokey 2 . Both synchronize well and no latency. But i can say others software is easier to setting and more tidy look.
@@MegaMayth oh i bet. I stopped using FL regularly a few years back. I do still use it occasionally.
That was the reason to buy a MPC3000. A nice machine and brought me back to use my ears and really hunt for the dopest sound. Then Akai released the Live1 and my brother got me one.
What can I say - it was like FL Studio in a MPC. Today I use the MPC to build the beat and FL as a DAW and add maybe some little thing here and there.
When the beat is done it gets recorded through the TL FAT TRACK. Done. That my sound. That’s my character after 20 years of beat making and producing I’m finally so dam happy not thinking like “shit I need this and that to do what I want to do”. Believe me I was stuck thinking I don’t have the right equipment.
Then one day I met some real OGs, I’m thinking “shit I’m done”… they asked me what I’m doing and why I’m running around the block. Told them I was looking for a studio and my man “Double Dose” was already waiting.
The situation become one I’ll never forget. The suddenly hugged me fist bumped and stuff. They knew Double Dose and knew he was working on some music. They brought me to the studio and asked if they could have a listen.
When my beat tape stared and Double Dose skipped through them they just became silent and looked me like “What the fuck !” And started calling me WhiteNigger. They liked them. And the real interesting part of course was: which beats are the hitters? I tell you it was 70% FL and 30% the 3k.
Double Dose later explained me that they were jealous because of course they were repping as well but didn’t had the right beats. ( we talking hood tech aight }
If you like tattooing and Looking for one that’s for ever :
It’s not the machine - you kicked it
I know you can jungle around with this but you catch my point.
I’m tired if “the talk”! Real passionates don’t talk about that - they’re make music.
The Mpc 3000 reached my about the importance of work flow and using what’s there. Sold if last year cause if coronavirus. Even if I wasn’t t using it like for real no more, it was. Ice standing in the corner.

I think a DAW is a tool as you say, but to be honest, some have more better workflows than others. I use FL to make songs (beats) and use REAPER for vocals (it's such an awesome DAW) I have used Cubase but Now, I am using LOGIC since i turned to apple...Reaper still makes things so easy especially with recording vocals (when I want something quick, like a cover). THEREFORE:
FL for making beats, Reaper for recording vocals (especially covers that already have a beat), Logic pro - I use it for both LOL (especially when I wanna record a full song that includes making the beat at the same time recording an artist (full song - beat and vocals)
Studio one and logic is my go to Daws. Then if i want to do trap beats i prefer fl studio but gospel or anything that involves real expressions then logic and studio one is best. Because these 2 daws can handle all gener of music
I also love that Logic has Dolby atmos built in
Thanks for the vid
No problem
I like your opinion on this video.
I don't use Mac so Logic isn't my choice. The newest version of FL is really confusing for me. That's why I'm stuck on FL Studio 11, which is easier for me. I like your opinion that software is a tool. I think it's part of instrument.
I'm using two laptops which are sequencers for my music. One laptop works with drums and another laptop is for bass and other instruments and it has Komplete Kontrol M32 (so the second laptop uses midi). They are connected to my mixer which have eight channels. Other instruments I have are Yamaha Casio CT-655 with pedals and Wah,, Behringer TD-3 and my insanity :D
So with my setup timing is everything and it's really great setup to make Hip Hop, Techno, House, Psytrance, Reggae and other stuff. It's all about creativity and sound exploring. Maybe I do a video about my music setup some day, with my own language Finnish and also in English to share my way to make music.
Peace out!
Wow! You have an amazing setup, FLS 11 is still very good, you should make that video soon🙂
I have both, I mostly use FL when tracking and creating the song. It just feels like it’s so much smoother with my creative flow. I then stem it out and go to Logic for mixing/ mastering
Ableton way too complex for me right now, so if mouse and cpu with fl studio is way to go, then that's what ill try next
Is there Logic for Windows 🪟?
There're no give aways this year, been wondering ❤,

I have both, they do certain things well in their own respective rights. I just Rarely use stock plugs anymore... So I flock to whatever has the better sequencer (in this case FL). I do have some friends who are devout logic fans who joke with me about using FL. I usually joke that my OBXa and Prophet 5 sound just fine in FL and that usually shuts them up 😅
So Fl Studio I’ve been using for the past year. It’s a pain to learn! It’s become a breeze for me to record vocals and use plug ins and set them up. I love the breeze of Fl studio where you can save your own mixer presets. Saves plenty of time. The reason I’m considering logic is because I’m horrible at producing and haven’t been able to learn at all. I have more fun trying to learn the piano on GarageBand. Maybe I should use both!

Thanks! The mic I am using in this video is an AriMic Lavalier Microphone.
Using logic going on 4 years. Got a good grip on it… I’ve been trying out FL lately and …. It’s been a struggle honestly, it’s more complicated if you ask me. It’s not as friendly for True Musicians as Logic honestly.
You are 100% right
Currently, I use Logic Pro and I love it! What stops me from trying out different software is simply due to the fact that most of the other DAWs out there aren’t screenreader friendly. I’d like to try out some other DAWs out there some day, but I just haven’t found any that are as accessible as Logic is.
FL Studio is more user friendly and easy to use especially for beginners. It can be tricky though when you start adding plugins(manual where logic mostly comes preset). Logic has numerous cool synths you cannot find on any DAW. All and all Logic sounds more pro by default where on FLS you need to understand a bit of mixing to get to that quality
I totally agree that's why I love using both softwares😃
@@Trensharo I dont know which part of the world are you coming from but Garage band is not as common as fruity loops since most users are using windows. Step sequencer is what made fruityloops more easy to use, as soon as you start a new fruityloops project, its right in front of you where with garage band you will search for piano roll or something to create a simple beat. Garageband though will sound more pro with less effects since FLS is user friendly to biginners who dont understand sound balance to start with

Reaper is the best Daw, I started making music in Fl studio, moved to cubase, then calkwalk and Ableton but when i discovered Reaper mehn it was mind-blowing since then it has opened more rooms for creativity,i do my beats , everything in Reaper and its only a 14 to 15mb Daw ,the downside of it is it doesn't come with numerous vst plugins like FL or.
Sounds Interesting but what makes it best though?
I love reaper too

Straight facts💯
Some people are holding themselves back from making amazing music by sticking to a DAW that’s not working for them.
I started to make Beats on Soundtrap and once I realized that FL has a Trial Version, I instantly switched to FL. It was pretty confusing at first, because it was so different to Soundtrap, but I eventually got the hang of it. I'm still far from good, but I'm better than at the beginning 😅

Any software is all about accessibility to the interface and the plugins you use to expand or extend the variety of VSTs, like Kontakt, Nexus, Omnisphere, and more. I hardly use FL's basic sounds anymore; at least, that's my view. All software has its strengths and never defines your professionalism.
they all use VSTs or something like

FL is seamless for production, Pro Tools is the sensei for recording, mixing and mastering.
Do you use both?
@XDizzleMusic yessir...I make my beats/instrumentals in FL studio and then export the separates to Pro Tools for arrangements, recordings, mixing and mastering.
That’s a very interesting workflow 🔥
I make beat in pro tools
I wasn't sure whether Logic Pro supported 3rd party plugins or VSTs just like FL Studio does. After that review, however, I think I'll save some money and finally buy myself a MAC because those stock plugins look super easy to use and they look like they provide a quality sound which is what I'm after.
Plus I have some experience with Garage Band so I don't think Logic Pro would be too far off from that.
Thank You for making this video X.
Thanks for watching🙂
Reaper for me🎉To each his own 💯✔️
Auto hide dock and you get a bigger screen
I’m learning fl studio but I mainly use Soundtrap anybody else ?
Ableton & FL Studio, Are my to go DAW
Ableton is dope, just not pretty to look at all day🤣
@@XDizzleMusic Cubase is even more confusing (to some) than Ableton 🤣🤣
I use FL Studio (Main), Reason, and Logic
For me I would say Fl Studio is for beat making.
Logic Pro is for recording, mixing and mastering.
I'm first to comment ...yay!!!! I use Bitwig and Reaper......
