Seems odd to ask a woman born in Israel whether she'd ever consider returning to Ethiopia. How is that really any different than asking an Ashkenazi Jew whether he considered return to Poland?
Corey asks everyone if they would like to live back to where their parents and grandparents came from before Israel. This is because of the high number of people that think that Palestine should substitute Israel in the map and Jews should go back to their countries of origin. Because that's how anti-semites refer to the Jewish exile.

I love Beta Israel, they have an amazing history. I can already tell a lot of people will try to divide up Jews on this video. Whether Mizrahim, Ashkenazim, Sephardim, Beta Israel, we are all Yehudim. My Babylonian-Jewish grandfather fought side by side with the Ashkenazi Jews in the 30's and 40's. My Ashkenazic father pleaded with the Israeli government for them to bring our Ethiopian brothers and sisters back to Israel. You can try to split up the Jewish people, but you will never succeed.
@BranThaMAn When someone talks about "Babylonian Jews" they are talking about those modern-day Jews who trace their descent to those ancient Judeans who were exiled to Babylon and later formed the Iraqi-Jewish community; not the ancient people of Babylon who exiled them. Today most Iraqi Jews live in Israel, and those outside Israel are spread through the UK, the US (particularly Los Angeles area and Great Neck and Jamaica Estates, NY) and in Australia.

When will Corey interview Indian Jews? I heard there are close to 100000 living in Israel and maintain close ties to India? I know an Indian rabbi who says "Israel is in my heart but India is in my blood" and he was born in Israel.
I remember Israel rescuing them in the 1980's by secretly sending in jumbo jets to pick them up.Amazing spectacle. They are so ancient that they only had the earlier chapters of the bible before they must've lost contact with Israel. There are archaelogical remains of Jewish altar sites in the lake Tana area if I remember correctly. There was a documentary about it decades ago.
I have to give thumbs up to these Ethiopian jews ... They have far more respect for their culture than some of the other Israeeli ethnicities that have been interviewed and who look upon their roots with total apathy
Random Guy So you're telling me that 30 years or so is sufficient to uproot someone from thousands of years of historical heritage? I disagree with you because Jews managed to protect their identity and traditions in many parts of the world so why not in secular Israel? the only groups that managed to protect their identity are those like of the orthodox religious groups who managed to resist the pressures of secularism despite attempts by the government to integrate them into the Zionist melting pot (for example trying to force them to serve in the army among other things), some even emigrated to far away places like Lev tahor for example. I may be wrong but the way I see it Israel is actively seeking to create a melting pot society deprived of individuality and distinct ethnic belonging .... the way things are going there will be a brand new Israeli specimen in just few decades .....Is that good or bad? it's a matter of interpretation but for me I love diversity and prefer a non conformist society where individuality is allowed to thrive.
@Tahia Dzair Well, the further away in time from the generation born outside the country, the more assimilation there is -- that's the way it always works in every country with immigrant groups. _I disagree with you because Jews managed to protect their identity and traditions in many parts of the world so why not in secular Israel?_ You just answered your own question. It's easier to protect a cultural identity when you're oppressed and living in a closed society. For generations in the Diaspora, different Jewish communities preserved unique and distinct identities not only because they were traditional peoples, but also because the larger culture didn't accept them which reinforced the separation and the power of their religious leaders. In an open, secular society, where there are so many temptations, it's much easier to lose traditions. _the only groups that managed to protect their identity are those like of the orthodox religious groups who managed to resist the pressures of secularism despite attempts by the government to integrate them into the Zionist melting pot (for example trying to force them to serve in the army among other things)_ Don't forget that many Orthodox Jews in Israel today actually regard themselves as staunch Zionists; a majority of IDF oficers today are religious. _some even emigrated to far away places like Lev tahor for example_ "Lev Tahor" is a fringe loony cult -- that is regarded as extreme even by anti-Zionist ultra-Orthodox Jews -- they're not "preserving" anything -- they were founded by a formerly secular Jew (of Sephardic background actually), who changed his name to "Helbrans" (an Ashkenazi name) from the Sephardic "Elbarnes". In short, he reinvented himself. The women in Lev Tahor have started draping themselves in niqab-like garments -- that's not even a Jewish thing! And then there are the allegations of child sex abuse. Bunch of nutbags, that's what "Lev Tahor" is. _I may be wrong but the way I see it Israel is actively seeking to create a melting pot society deprived of individuality and distinct ethnic belonging...._ Oh, for sure, that was the ideal in the years leading up to and immediately after the founding of Israel. People were discouraged from spekaing Yiddish, Ladino, Arabic or other languages of Exile in favor of modern Hebrew. And in my view it was necessary, at the time. _the way things are going there will be a brand new Israeli specimen in just few decades_ There already is. _ .....Is that good or bad?_ My view is that it's good. _it's a matter of interpretation but for me I love diversity and prefer a non conformist society where individuality is allowed to thrive_ Wel me too, and I don;t see it as contradicting my earlier statement that a new Israeli is good either. The way it is now, even though there's been this mixing and the creation of a New Israeli Hebrewman identity, people can still take pride in Yiddish, Ladino, Ethiopian culture or whatever. Courses are offered at the universities, for instance --- rthere are folksong events, etc. people are no longer ashamed of the Diaspora heritage; but everyone is also Israeli.
_Oh, for sure, that was the ideal in the years leading up to and immediately after the founding of Israel. People were discouraged from spekaing Yiddish, Ladino, Arabic or other languages of Exile in favor of modern Hebrew_ Is that what the Zionist project planned to do? displace the Palestinians so that they import migrants Jew to create a secular melting pot? .... what has happened to the return to the promised land and all the religious rhetoric? Don't you think that this social engineering may one day backfire in the face of those who conceived it when the people understand that God chosen people have forced to metamorphose into a blend of ethnicities not so different from those in Brasil :) _You just answered your own question. It's easier to protect a cultural identity when you're oppressed and living in a closed society_ That can't be said about Lev Tahor or Neturei Karta who have been persecuted in Israel and many forced choose exile to far away places like Guatemala ... and even there Israel is using it long arm to harass them. _ For generations in the Diaspora, different Jewish communities preserved unique and distinct identities not only because they were traditional peoples_ None the less your theory doesn't stick considering that Jewish minorities outside Europe shared common cultural heritage with fellow gentiles from Morocco to central Asia but it's only in Israel that their cultures and ethnicity are threatened, I personally think Israel is turning out to be the worst thing to happen to Jews outside Europe in over 2000 years and the weirdest thing is that they're all sleepwalking towards this collective suicide.

As an Ethiopian, your comment where you promote proselytization is unnecessary and disrespectful. Especially seeing many who make Aliyah who had previously converted to Christianity reverting to Judaism here in Israel. As for your comment on Corey's "style" of interview, I agree with you. It took him a while to do this. Even when he did, the first person he interviews, he jokingly "shames" for not listening to Ethiopian music or something. Something he doesnt do for his other ethnicity videos because those people are "Israeli enough" in his eyes. Even his questions were with ignorant motivation in comparison to his other ethnicity videos. You are not oppressed in Europe if anything the politicians are oppressing native Europeans and their freedoms to make space for worst of Africa and the middle East.
+Enter Valhala This is not a political discussion. This is the problem with the right (Talking mainly about the Ben Shapiro type right). They make everything into a political discussion. He stated where he was from you know what let's fucking do this. I have Eastern European, Persian, Turkic, Arab, East African, and Southern European roots and I live in Canada. This isn't a political discussion I'm just saying where my genetics trace me to. He didn't say he was oppressed in Europe. Also let's talk politics now. If only the worst of these areas get in then how do they get in? This is more of a refugee problem instead of race. My parents worked their asses off with applications and of course they had to be the very best of their country to be allowed in. Refugees are the problem instead of their roots. It is a good strategy to allow refugees in but just keep them in camps as if the people of that country down the line need help from the countries that currently have refugee then there would be a good relation established. I do agree with you to some degree as an Arab my family agrees that the street people of these areas continue to be street people living of social assistance. However I wouldn't know too well as only my parents meet those shits. I associate with good people and I work hard myself. The people who don't bullshit their way here will always be the best of their nations. However currently refugees and people who cheat their ways to these Western countries.
I've found in the Army they are more motivated than others. They knew what it was like not to live in Israel and that's why they make good soldiers, many of us have forgotten.
To some extent but not really (about them and afro american culture). Pretty much all the Ethiopians I know are from Hadera, maybe it is different elsewhere. I think the younger generation is just interested in the "African" part of them. I see the same thing with Russian olim. That curiosity doesn't last very long, soon enough they realize they're Jews first, anything else second.
A H Ethiopian can't be slaves in Israel cus Israel never had slavery like the rest of the older countries and some of Israel founders were Ethiopian. in Israel dark skin is norm, most jews (like me) has dark skin cus we are originally from the middle East. the uncommon skin is white but after the Russian came now it's kinda equal. and Israel is a democracy meaning that they have equal rights.
XYU actually Abraham is originally from Haran (iraq) (3000++ bc) so the jews grow up before Ethiopian culture... but it's not a fight of who's culture better because in most cases the Jewish culture says jews should love the state they are in (like Ethiopia for example) and if the country was nice, they shouldn't forget the culture (kinda like- remember your neighbours thing.) so those cultures are taking from one another.

I was specifically told by God the Holy Spirit that the Hebrew Israelites are my people that He speaks of in the Holy Bible KJV. You can begin reading in the book of Genesis 15:13-14; Deuteronomy 28:68; Acts 7:6-7. Our ancestors were driven from their homeland of Israel by the white Europeans from the north once they learned that we were God's Chosen People. They enticed our an ancestors to teach them their culture and once they learned it, they then chased them out and stole their identity, language, land and culture. They will never admit it because Yahweh allowed it due to the original Hebrew Israelites disobedience. We were stripped of our identity, language, culture, sold into slavery; traumatized. Our ancestors took the beating of their lives; many suffered, died, committed suicide at sea and murdered. The oppression continues at the hands of some whites. It is a tragedy I would not wish on any nation. But we have Jehovah God watching over us. Shalom 💖

@Amy Angell: Correction: Ethiopians don't speak Aramaic; they speak Amharic. In their language it's called "Amharinya". Who speaks Aramaic? The Kaddish is in Aramaic (except for the last line, which is Hebrew). Hhad gadyo is in Aramaic, and the Talmud. And a few prayers in the siddur. Syriac Christians use Aramaic in church and speak a dialect at home based on Aramaic. Some call it Syryoyo. Aramaic was the lingua franca of the Persian Empire.
@@amyangell2378 The Syrian Orthodox Church exclusively uses Aramaic for prayer and study. Their bible is in the original Aramaic as was commonly spoken 2000 years ago. A visit to the Syrian Church in Old City Jerusalem is fascinating.

So true. None of the Muslims who live in Israel are married. None of the Christians either. Not unless they go abroad. Churches and mosques in Israel are unable to perform marriage ceremonies. Ethiopian jews are some of the oldest in the world and older than european jews and some and arab groups today. They carry one of, if not, oldest torahs around. Their language is very close in relation to hebrew to, if not one of ancient hebrews modern descendant languages. Modern hebrew is heavily mixed with yiddish if not "made up". Tons of euro influences when it would've been a more levant/north-east african (as semetic languages stemmed from there) tongue. There's no such thing as jewish ethnicity today. 80% are converts. If talking of a tribe or whole ethnic group we should go with the oldest and these ethiopians show promise. Never knew isrealis could be so racists in labeling whose jew and whose not. These ethiopians been practicing judaism before most Isreali forefathers knew what it was yet they aren't "jewish" enough....so disappointing. Guess they mean not WHITE enough, although jews never were.
where did you see here racism? the Ethiopian jews are not the oldest, the ones in Egypt and Syria are older and the oldest are native israelies, jews that never left the land like the jews of Pki'in, Kfar Yassif, Alma etc. modern hebrew is allmost the same as ancient hebrew, a lot of words that weren't being added, but the same vocabulary of the ancient hebrew exists in modern hebrew as well. there aren't barely Yiddish words in hebrew, it's more in the slang not in the actual language. plus the language is over 3000 years old, it's very natural that it's will be influenced like any other language. ancient hebrew itself is influenced by other languages like Persian, Aremaic, Akkadian, Phoenician.
Liran c the Ethiopians are old just as much the Egyptians bc they used to trade with each other like silk and other things and besides the Egyptian when they wrote on their walls they wrote that they came from the start of the Nile river and now go search on Google from where is the bile river starts?
princess li the Egyptians were motly brown, not black but were also mixed with blacks and whites, it's was a multi-ethnical empire. you can see that by their wall paintings, sometimes in the paintings the figures are back, sonetimes white, but mostly brown. mosaics of figures in ancient synagogues show caucasian people, not black. i'm not sure about the egyptians, the hebrews weren't black that for sure.
Liran c I don't think the hebrews are black I think they we're I don't know middle eastern or something but I do think Ethiopians have a tied history to Judaism after all they practice Judaism over 2500 years ago and Ethiopia was mentioned in the Bible 52 times and you know king Solomon and queen Sheba history etc and the Egyptians paint themselves brown and black BTW www.google.co.il/search?q=egyptian+paintings&client=ms-android-samsung&prmd=ivn&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwip98vy2PbZAhWF2CwKHeiRAaAQ_AUIESgB&biw=360&bih=560#imgrc=ExNWsItvoz5s8M:&isa=y Besides Ethiopians are brown it's just form to describe dark people not all the Ethiopians are black actualll most of them are brown but some are black but I don't think the ancient Egyptians are the Ethiopians I'm just saying it's an interesting theory that the ancient Egyptians said they came from the start of the Nile river while the Nile river starts in Ethiopia but I think mostly like you that the Egyptians are mixed too black and middle eastern etc but they are rare and in my opinion they were once alive but not anymore and I don't think that the modern Egyptians (arabs) are the ancient ones now it just the Arabs live there so I'm really sure they can't claim anything in the ancient history of Egypt if you understand me...
I was watching your videos for a while but i am permanently unsubscribing. I dont know a lot of Hebrew but I know enough to see when you mess up the translation to further your own politics. The young lady at 2:30 absolutely does not say "no, not yet" she just said no. Its editodializing and the cracks that form that grow into real and harmful problems. Do better
as a native hebrew speaker i can tell that his translation mistakes are done due to the fact that he's not a native speaker, and are definitely not intentional. he often mistranslates into a word that sounds kind of similar to the original word. i think, if he's not sure what was said, that he should just leave it blank rather than assume but going as far as saying he's doing it to push a certain narrative is quite a reach. especially in this video where there wasn't really a narrative to push
This was interesting and sad at the same time. I remember when the felasha left Ethiopia as a child. And then to see them as Israelis when I was living in Israel...so odd. Although I came across a few in the IDF (they were the only MALE IDF who were friendly to me) we didn't talk much, since i was visiting and socializing with other Christian habesha. But now to hear them, it sounds so odd to me that they have lost their culture for the most part. There is much more to being Ethiopia than "injera".
There is much more to being Jewish and reconnected to the land of Israel after being in exile for thousands of years in my opinion. They may not need instructions or sympathy from anyone outside their community on what to hold onto or let go of regarding their own existence on planet earth.
Very Interesting! Thanks! Can you ask Ethiopian Jews how they practice Judaism? Pray, Shabbat? Talit? Tefilin? Pesach? Etc? What sefarim do they have? Tanach? (I know they don't have Talmud).
6:45 injera is not only an Ethiopian food but also a Somali one too. All my close relatives (they are all from Somalia), make this all the time. But he is right, it’s tastes really good.
Not to sound ignorant but what is Amharic? Is it the language of Ethiopia or is it a hybrid of Hebrew and Ethiopian? Thanks in advance - and for all wondering, I'm Coptic and I have taken communion at Ethiopian orthodox churches before :)
Mike Mikhail, Amharic is from a group of languages in ethiopia called ethiosemitic, so i would say that its a distant relative of hebrew. Outside of ethiopia, its most ċlosely related to the southern arabic languages of yemen and oman. Its the oficial language of ethiopia, its used by the ethiopian church, it has language roots nearly old as coptic.
Its also only the second most spoken language in ethiopia after oromo but most jewish ethiopians come from the amharic speaking regions, oromo is related to languages from kenya, there is allot of debate as to whether oromo is a native language or imigrant (probably a mix of both and it all hapened centuries ago anyway) and there is a history of cultural conflict, there is no one language called ethiopian.
Ethiopia is a country of massive linguistic diversity. Amharic is the official language. Another language, called Tigray is also mentioned in the video. It's spoken up in the region near Eritrea.
I love learning about the Beta Israel, very fascinating part of our people. With regards to music, Ethiopians are very influential in Israel's hip hop scene. Great music.
They were of a semitic origin, they were not black sub-saharian but if you take the 800 years of slavery in Africa, Egypt plus the description of the bible you can conclude they were dark skin, not blond and blue eyes. In todays america ancient jews would be considered as blacks
Liran c Oh really? You were back then...? You can't just say no. It was back then! Nothing made sense. Moses was black skinned anyway. And also kush ben ham, I assume many other had light skin and some had darker completion. Like ancient Egyptians.
Liran c In the משנה and חנוך א like it written in those ancient books, the jews skin colour was from brown to dark skin(הצבע נע משחום לצבע עור כהה יותר) And king David was no redhead. It is a myth. Here's a prove: "דּוֹדִי צַח וְאָדוֹם דָּגוּל מֵרְבָבָה." How about the משנה and moses described as Having a BLACK skin??? And this jewish DNA is bullshit, you can't create one you need a Real straight up Israelite for that. Its is a fucking myth. Europeans control it, it is baised.
"Ethiopian" is not a formal ethnicity in Israel. They are marked as "Jewish" in all documents on the line of ethnicity. This is an informal classification. They are also not citizens of Ethiopia.
@@messianic_scam there was a lot of controversy in Israel to accept them as Jews or not. But DNA tests were carried out and Jewish ancestry was found. They also practice Judaism so they passed the muster even though they don't "look Jewish" as some people say. Note that Arabs accept black Sudanese and Somalians as Arabs as well.

@@vidong1704 Not True, I work with DNA, they were brought in the 1980s, 1990s before DNA w was even available in test form. They were accepted by their creation story of being of a lost tribe. They have DNA in common with other Ethiopians. They are believed to be early Christians that were close to Jews in practice. Sometimes in history their religious activities included more Old Testament ways, they are known to be in this practice for hundreds if not over 1000 years. They were all converted legally to Judaism when they came here, as they couldn't provide proof of Jewish descent. By conversion, there would be no question as to any marriages in any future.
In short he wanna know if Ethiopians will go back or no, iam from Somalia and Ethiopians are nice people even though there is tension between the two countries
Yes, that's correct. The Jews/Judeans lived in the Kingdom of Judea (corresponding to the area of Israel, today), and by 2,500 years ago also lived in Mesopotamia, due to exile to Babylon, later also in Alexandria, but mostly in Judea. The Ashkenazi and Sephardic communities are closely related genetically, but all of the Jewish/Judean communities are genetically related. The Ethiopian Jewish community a bit less, as there were many converts to Judaism there.

Quite weird to ask someone born in the country if they would consider going back to another country they have never been to just because of their nationality. I noticed that the people that were asked this question had to stress that they were born in Israel, so this question made no sense. I am sorry, but I found it quite offensive (even though it wasn't meant that way). It would have been better to ask probing questions and then orient your questions accordingly instead of just asking the same questions to everyone. The initiative is good, but some of those interviews were ill conducted at some point.
It's actually an incredibly important question. Look at all the rampant antisemitism and people trying to frame Israelis as "white" people. Seeing their reactions and showing in a natural way how these people are obviously jews and obviously Iraelis makes ignorant westerners more aware of their bigoted assumptions.
Seems odd to ask a woman born in Israel whether she'd ever consider returning to Ethiopia.
How is that really any different than asking an Ashkenazi Jew whether he considered return to Poland?
I was just about to make the same or similar comment as you. I thought it was quite peculiar to me.
Corey asks everyone if they would like to live back to where their parents and grandparents came from before Israel. This is because of the high number of people that think that Palestine should substitute Israel in the map and Jews should go back to their countries of origin. Because that's how anti-semites refer to the Jewish exile.

When someone talks about "Babylonian Jews" they are talking about those modern-day Jews who trace their descent to those ancient Judeans who were exiled to Babylon and later formed the Iraqi-Jewish community; not the ancient people of Babylon who exiled them. Today most Iraqi Jews live in Israel, and those outside Israel are spread through the UK, the US (particularly Los Angeles area and Great Neck and Jamaica Estates, NY) and in Australia.

So you're telling me that 30 years or so is sufficient to uproot someone from thousands of years of historical heritage?
@Tahia Dzair
Well, the further away in time from the generation born outside the country, the more assimilation there is -- that's the way it always works in every country with immigrant groups.
_I disagree with you because Jews managed to protect their identity and traditions in many parts of the world so why not in secular Israel?_
You just answered your own question.
_the only groups that managed to protect their identity are those like of the orthodox religious groups who managed to resist the pressures of secularism despite attempts by the government to integrate them into the Zionist melting pot (for example trying to force them to serve in the army among other things)_
Don't forget that many Orthodox Jews in Israel today actually regard themselves as staunch Zionists; a majority of IDF oficers today are religious.
_some even emigrated to far away places like Lev tahor for example_
"Lev Tahor" is a fringe loony cult -- that is regarded as extreme even by anti-Zionist ultra-Orthodox Jews -- they're not "preserving" anything -- they were founded by a formerly secular Jew (of Sephardic background actually), who changed his name to "Helbrans" (an Ashkenazi name) from the Sephardic "Elbarnes". In short, he reinvented himself. The women in Lev Tahor have started draping themselves in niqab-like garments -- that's not even a Jewish thing! And then there are the allegations of child sex abuse. Bunch of nutbags, that's what "Lev Tahor" is.
_I may be wrong but the way I see it Israel is actively seeking to create a melting pot society deprived of individuality and distinct ethnic belonging...._
Oh, for sure, that was the ideal in the years leading up to and immediately after the founding of Israel. People were discouraged from spekaing Yiddish, Ladino, Arabic or other languages of Exile in favor of modern Hebrew. And in my view it was necessary, at the time.
_the way things are going there will be a brand new Israeli specimen in just few decades_
There already is.
_ .....Is that good or bad?_
My view is that it's good.
_it's a matter of interpretation but for me I love diversity and prefer a non conformist society where individuality is allowed to thrive_
Wel me too, and I don;t see it as contradicting my earlier statement that a new Israeli is good either. The way it is now, even though there's been this mixing and the creation of a New Israeli Hebrewman identity, people can still take pride in Yiddish, Ladino, Ethiopian culture or whatever. Courses are offered at the universities, for instance ---
rthere are folksong events, etc. people are no longer ashamed of the Diaspora heritage; but everyone is also Israeli.
_Oh, for sure, that was the ideal in the years leading up to and immediately after the founding of Israel. People were discouraged from spekaing Yiddish, Ladino, Arabic or other languages of Exile in favor of modern Hebrew_
Is that what the Zionist project planned to do? displace the Palestinians so that they import migrants Jew to create a secular melting pot? .... what has happened to the return to the promised land and all the religious rhetoric?
Don't you think that this social engineering may one day backfire in the face of those who conceived it when the people understand that God chosen people have forced to metamorphose into a blend of ethnicities not so different from those in Brasil :)
_You just answered your own question. It's easier to protect a cultural identity when you're oppressed and living in a closed society_
That can't be said about Lev Tahor or Neturei Karta who have been persecuted in Israel and many forced choose exile to far away places like Guatemala ... and even there Israel is using it long arm to harass them.
_ For generations in the Diaspora, different Jewish communities preserved unique and distinct identities not only because they were traditional peoples_
None the less your theory doesn't stick considering that Jewish minorities outside Europe shared common cultural heritage with fellow gentiles from Morocco to central Asia but it's only in Israel that their cultures and ethnicity are threatened, I personally think Israel is turning out to be the worst thing to happen to Jews outside Europe in over 2000 years and the weirdest thing is that they're all sleepwalking towards this collective suicide.
TAHIA DZAIR thadia, shut the fuck up. you are not a jew, you are an algerian who know nothing about jewish history, culture or even the religion itself. just shut up, google "zionism" and "jewish ethnic divisions" and be quiet.

Young man I am from the Semeon Tribe of Israel and my brothers and sisters mostly of Judah Tribe here in America and others scattered among the nations throughout the four corners of the world.

Guess they mean not WHITE enough, although jews never were.
where did you see here racism?
the Ethiopian jews are not the oldest, the ones in Egypt and Syria are older and the oldest are native israelies, jews that never left the land like the jews of Pki'in, Kfar Yassif, Alma etc.
modern hebrew is allmost the same as ancient hebrew, a lot of words that weren't being added, but the same vocabulary of the ancient hebrew exists in modern hebrew as well. there aren't barely Yiddish words in hebrew, it's more in the slang not in the actual language.
plus the language is over 3000 years old, it's very natural that it's will be influenced like any other language. ancient hebrew itself is influenced by other languages like Persian, Aremaic, Akkadian, Phoenician.

princess li the Egyptians were motly brown, not black but were also mixed with blacks and whites, it's was a multi-ethnical empire.
you can see that by their wall paintings, sometimes in the paintings the figures are back, sonetimes white, but mostly brown.
mosaics of figures in ancient synagogues show caucasian people, not black.
i'm not sure about the egyptians, the hebrews weren't black that for sure.
Liran c I don't think the hebrews are black I think they we're I don't know middle eastern or something but I do think Ethiopians have a tied history to Judaism after all they practice Judaism over 2500 years ago and Ethiopia was mentioned in the Bible 52 times and you know king Solomon and queen Sheba history etc and the Egyptians paint themselves brown and black BTW www.google.co.il/search?q=egyptian+paintings&client=ms-android-samsung&prmd=ivn&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwip98vy2PbZAhWF2CwKHeiRAaAQ_AUIESgB&biw=360&bih=560#imgrc=ExNWsItvoz5s8M:&isa=y
Besides Ethiopians are brown it's just form to describe dark people not all the Ethiopians are black actualll most of them are brown but some are black but I don't think the ancient Egyptians are the Ethiopians I'm just saying it's an interesting theory that the ancient Egyptians said they came from the start of the Nile river while the Nile river starts in Ethiopia but I think mostly like you that the Egyptians are mixed too black and middle eastern etc but they are rare and in my opinion they were once alive but not anymore and I don't think that the modern Egyptians (arabs) are the ancient ones now it just the Arabs live there so I'm really sure they can't claim anything in the ancient history of Egypt if you understand me...
Do better
When he asked her if she was in ethiopia she said “od lo” which means “not yet”
as a native hebrew speaker i can tell that his translation mistakes are done due to the fact that he's not a native speaker, and are definitely not intentional. he often mistranslates into a word that sounds kind of similar to the original word. i think, if he's not sure what was said, that he should just leave it blank rather than assume but going as far as saying he's doing it to push a certain narrative is quite a reach. especially in this video where there wasn't really a narrative to push
Mike Mikhail It's is indeed an ethiopian language .. i think it's a semetic language but of a different "family" as hebrew
Thanks for the feedback, everyone!

So 2000 years back ancestors BM of both Ethiopian, Ashkenazi and other ethnicities used to live in Israel?

He asked everyone that not just Ethiopians
