EDIT: I will create a Knights/Church members video. I just want to take a break, make sure things are correct. The past 3 videos that I've created were riddled with errors and I'm not happy with that. And so in order to keep my perspective wide and my mistakes to very little, I'm going to take a quick break for my next one and then I'll get started right away on the knights video for those that are interested. But I will note that this video probably won't be as indepth as the ones I've created here, and I'll also be creating a video on when you should promote. But again, it'll be after this short video. Thanks for showing interest in the past videos everyone. BLACK EAGLES: www.youtube.com/watch?v=nbyYV... Blue Lions: www.youtube.com/watch?v=NsDjo... 1:49 - Claude 3:46 - Hilda 6:07 - Ignatz 9:49 - Leonie 12:17 - Lorenz 14:58 - Lysithea 16:59 - Marianne 18:17 - Raphael 20:44 - Sample Team Class Growth: serenesforest.net/three-houses/classes/growth-rates/ Or just turn them into fliers. I also apologize if you have a certain type of screen. I think I have either a LCD screen or whatever, but if your contrast is turned all the way up, some of the things looks really really bad. I'm going to be toning that all down for when I release all my assets for free on an imgur link in the future. I apologize that I didn't check both screens.
I haven't found a single case where great knights are good 1) their speed is shit and almost never doubles 2) their bulk is irrelevant by time you can become one since your characters should all be one rounding. 3) paladins are just better every time. armors just suck in this game due to their shitty speed and low mov. their defense is overkill since the difference is taking little damage to no damage. The best part about armors is the proficiency for "weight -3 or -5" effectively giving +5 speed Horse Units are not good until advanced or master class, the hit to spd generally results in the character being speed screwed. I had Leonie become fighter->brigand>paladin or fighter-> pegasus -> paladin -> falcon. The paladin helps with str growths to prep for falcon but this path can be wack if you arent playing NG+ Priest is nothing special, better to get the mage’s fiendish blow Vantage/wrath doesnt work because you need to initiate battle for wrath to activate when at low HP
I look forward to your Church video and even though you've made mistake I still find these videos very informative and entertaining. Keep up the great work.
@@moomanchu608 I get what you mean and I really do. But if I don't cover all my bases I get the complete opposite of your comment, where people ask me why I didn't include great knight, why I didn't include priest, etc. I'm just covering all my bases because I think comments like yours are more reasonable and understanding than people that ask where x and y are.
JaeAIK hahaha of course! Maybe you can review all the classes based on beginner, intermediate, advanced, and master. Give the pros and cons as you go through each class and then provide which classes you typically choose If i already commented on another vid of yours saying “GK sucks” then my apologies, i forgot that i did. If i seemed harsh, also apologies. I was being critical of the classes not so much you.
@@matthewrigsby204 Meh Frozen Lance helps with damage and you can give her a Bolt Axe/Levin Sword. It's so stupid that you can't get the Arrow of Indra all the other steel weapons can be reforged into a magic weapon so why can't the steel lance >_>
Raphael really is the pope we deserve. I actually think it's worth dipping Raphael into the Bishop class for its mastery skill Renewal, then equipping him with the Goddess Ring and feeding him Luck boosting items so he becomes an immortal god who regenerates all his HP per turn.
You don't even need Renewal for him to be a golden god. Stack luck for more Goody Basket procs and abuse Healing Focus. If he doesn't die in one turn (he won't) he can't be killed.
I'm not really a hyper competitive FE player, but wouldn't that be a massive resource dump for just a decent boon? You'd have to get Raphael at A rank or close to dip into bishop, and then you'd have to remain in bishop for some levels to master the class for renewal. At that point you're dropping his defense growth and underutilizing his potential strength growths going into other classes. It seems much more worth it to just keep him going down the traditional Grappler/Warrior step, and boost his luck still and give him the goddess ring. It feels like such a massive commitment to a skill he otherwise wont use at all, when he couldve had that going into a myriad of other options
Barbarossa is broken imo . I mean now you can just give Claude a shield and Failnaught and watch him torture Dimitri and Edelgard in the game 🦌Fear the Deer 🦌, Indeed If Hilda could get this class.......
Honestly all the lords are pretty broken besides edelgard. Dimitri has his weapon to do a fk ton of damage on his combat art as well as his personal skill to have 20 avoid at full hp put a evasion ring and a forest tile on him and hes a God. Edelgard isnt as impressive but she has the strongest battalion to do a crap ton of burn damage. Tho I wish she had more defense and her personal skill isnt bad to check her resistance her combat art is funny. She can attack again after a successful hit from her combat art. Claude has the best movement and a real nuisance to control the battlefield and his personal skill is okayish for a pass. And his movement is the best movement in the game plus the center effect is nice to have
Healer is not a master class. Holy knight is the way to go, my End game Marianne had a heal range of whole maps from the center with her move range and psyhic.
Here's a bit of a sleeper class for Marianne that's I find some ppl miss, Dancer. Marianne has some good spell to use and high enough charm to get it as well. Plus you can either use her frozen lance or get a Levin sword (Or Blutgang as it is connected to her) if you aren't lvl her reason making her a not bad dancer
Same I agree. She is one of my primary choices at the moment for that class. Also after seeing her Dancer outfit she is gorgeous in it. At the moment Dancer is between her, Flayn, and Dorothea. I would prefer Dorothea as Gremory for that double meteor I keep hearing about but her talent is perfect for Dancer and she has her own outfit for it.
@@TimNewmanGaming well it's just that edelgard is accessible in 1/4 routes. But raging storm, sword avoid+20 on a character that can use both phys and magic swords well, and putting the highest charm character in a charm class for actual 100 damage gambits is just outrageous
My end game Golden Deer House ended up with almost the exact same classes, but with a notable exception. I kept Ignatz as an Assassin. Giving him both a Killing Edge+ and a Killing Bow+ as well as a Crit Ring makes him crit almost every enemy. My Ignatz is insane. "Let me paint you a picture!" The most terrifying battle cry ever.
LORENZ is the best Dancer! When asking around the house he says he wants to be dancer the most! He had been waiting for the opportunity to show everyone his exquisite dance moves!
agr0nianTV As someone who lives for weird yet really useful class combos, the gendered class bull hockey in this game breaks my heart. Y u do this game developers? Whhhhhhhyy????
@@spritelady4669 Meh Pegasus/Falcon Knight have traditionally been female only while Dark Mage/Bishop and Gremory are a fair trade off in my opnion. The only thing that bugs me is that the War Master line is genderlocked and there isn't even a brawling class for women...
@@jaeaik I think all of the weapons that aren't the hero relics, like the Sword of Serios and whatnot all require an A rank to use, mostly. The equipment, like Ceathlean's staff, doesn't count.
MelodiousBlitz don’t train him in flying He automatically becomes one in the time skip Train him in swords and bows and always have a batallion on him so that ranks up automatically
I’d like to add on to the big man being a Pope, I’ve done this and saw immediate results: When on the battlefield as Pope Ralph will grant every crest user 100% chance to activate their crest Everyone will take 0 dmg for 100 turns if they believe in the goddess and food (the heretics will not benefit) And Ralph gains a special move where he punches the ground causing a distance volcano to erupt meat and deal 666 dmg to all enemies on the field.
We remember and love all of the Golden Deer because it is Best House™. And you're rad too, Lorenz. Your dad's kind of an asshat; but you get some good character development and supports with your friends so it all checks out in the end. 👍
@@spritelady4669 Thanks for the kind words. My father is sometimes an "asshat" but do everything for our house so its ok. Ofc Edelgard. Im one of the best nobles in fodlan after all ;3
Mortal Savant Lysithea with Thunderbrand Or just make your entire house Mortal Savant and get doubled by every single enemy (Black Eagles is probably the worst house for it tbh)
i did raise seriously marianne sword rank since she can learn soul blade a magic combat art that increase in might based on unit res it came in handy for when i needed to one shot some enemy as a holy knight.
LET ME PAINT YOU A PICTURE!!! I really dont understand why some poeple say ignazt is a bad unit when in my current playtrougth he is one of my best units dodging and criting everything . I think the best class for him is mortal savant beacuse of his ice magic with good crit chance and beacuse he is good with swords . And people say that he is only good for the start of the game just to rally speed .
pro crazyman You gotta also take into account that enemy res just SUCKS, which Ignatz can exploit heavily with crit magic. I’ve used Shamir to great success with a crit mage setup, so Ignatz should definitely be a good option(although no Gremory sux).
My 2 cents on some considerations: Leonie: Sub cavalier for Pegasus Knight initially for EZ darting blow. Since bow units are strictly player phase, that skill remedies the cavalier class' middling to low speed bases/growths as well weapon weight (ie, easier to quad with a brave bow/the Inexhaustible). One can always revisit cavalier to quickly pick up a synergistic desperation and if you really want to, have her go through brigand on top of it to nab death blow to bring on the hard hitting artillery. Also get Linhardt for the paralogue. Either she or Shamir wants that bow (or you be nice children and share). Lysithia: a brief venture through mercenary rewards you with vantage an the soulblade combat art from the budding talent. It's a neat safety net for whenever she finds herself in an enemy's range. Marianne: frozen Lance and by extension Lysithia's soulblade is a neat backup option if you want to save spells but still wanna nuke. You can also give Lysithia her relic as well at the expense of no unique combat art. Ignatz: sub darting blow for a quick death blow. He's gonna easily hit things anyway so may as well let him deal actual damage, then going cav for the strength growth or the archer to assassin line for the speed before going Bow Knight. Also lethality is neat but unreliable. Sure. It helps him kill but now always when you want it to. Lorenz: actually give him his relic (or at least the Cethelan staff from the Seteth/Flayn paralogue). Hilda: See darting/death blow combo from earlier. You're gonna add her to the Thracian army so just slap that knowledge gem on and get on with it.
That is the thing with 3H bow untis arent bad on enemy phase due to close counter or the mini bow Close counter is i think c tier bow which isnt to hard to reach for anyone that needs it
Bow units are no more strictly player phase than any other type of unit. If anything, bows units tend to have the best enemy phase combat early on due to having the best 1-2 range options thanks to close counter. Later on when you have access to retribution I guess they lose this niche and the decreased accuracy for longer ranges hurts them a bit sometimes but at that point you can warpskip nearly every chapter turn 1, which makes enemy phase completely irrelevant. In fact, if you go Golden Deer there are only two post timeskip story maps that can't be cleared turn 1 and they can be cleared in 4 and 3 turns respectively, meaning that there needn't be more than 5-7 enemy phases during the latter half of the game.
Lysithea actually uses Dark Magic, so she won't get any use out of Warlock's Black Tomefaire. She's honestly better off as a Bishop even on the Mage Path to Gremory in order to get more uses out of Warp. Also, I'm not entirely sure if you simply misspoke in the video, but Close Counter isn't inherently an Archer Skill. It's simply an Ability you get once your Bow Rank hits C.
@@InternetAngelJonathan with her nat skill of x2 exp, its not extremely hard to make her a dark knight, and if you recruit and have linhardt with warp, oh boy its amazing what you could do, end maps as if it were a breeze with the add on of lorenz relic, the equivalent to the bow knight in magic
Disagree on Ignatz's spells. He only gets 3, but they all have high critical stats. Get him assassinate and then make him a mortal savant. If he doesn't kill the enemy he will have seal strength (his budding talent ability) and decrease incoming damage.
As someone that took the "run Ignatz through evil magic school" route of things I can confirm that the dude is a crit god when it comes to magic, and I kept him in the magic classes from day one.
Allow me to make a bold (yet one that's worth considering) statement: Bishop is objectively a BETTER class than Warlock for Lysithea as her Advanced class regardless if she ended up as a Gremory or not unless you really want Bowbreaker. Other than Bowbreaker, Warlock literally offers nothing for Lysithea's kit when in comparison to Bishop. Sure Warlock might be classified as the more offensive mage class due to the skill it provides but in Lysithea's case however, it simply isn't the case due to 1 reason: Dark Magic. Lysithea exclusively uses Dark magic instead of Black magic and the 2 skills Warlock offers only benefit Black magic users. Bishop at least offered white magic uses x 2 which allows her to use warp twice before finally getting into Gremory and also Terrain resistance as a bonus. In short, she's only there for the growths because the class skill does nothing for her, growths that, if I might add, are also worse than those of Bishops' which are deficits in Luck and Charm (though, not too important that it makes any significant difference but it's free so why not?).
Tbh Bowbreaker is not that good on Lysithea. Bows are never a big threat and even when they start to become a threat, Lysithea just one shots them with her 5 range Hades (or literally any spell)
Yo Marriane actually is a really strong sword unit. Her resistance growth scales alright into the late game, and she gets some help if you run her down the bishop line into holy knight. She gets soulblade at C rank swords, which adds her res stat to the damage. It tends to one hit any heavy armour units. She also gains renewal, which when added with a prayer ring and battalion renewal makes her an effective soaker tank.
Great video series! It’s fun to learn about different class options other people took for the students, seeing which skills and potential I hadn’t considered developing for a character. My younger sister is new to FE and is overwhelmed by the class choices, so I think this guide is also great for newcomers like her. That being said, I certainly would like sit for a cup of tea with you, so that we may hold a riveting discussion about the legend, the god amongst men, Lorenz Hellmen Gloucester.
I'm in late game in Golden Deer right now. My strongest units are Leonie and Hilda! Leonie's high dex and speed growth make her an overpowered assassin. Her crit rate is always at least 60 (with the Wo Dao+), and enemy hit rates are always under 20. Taking Hilda down the Fortress Knight route and making her a Great Knight make her pretty much immune to physical units. Don't underestimate the defense growth rates of those classes!
Claude - master archer and brigand then wyvern rider then his lord class for the rest of the game Hilda - Brigand, Wyvern Rider then Wyvern Lord Ignatz - Bow Knight but with Dark Mage mastered for poison strike for hit and run/chip damage Lysithea - Gremory and give her Lorenz's hero relic, she frequently doubles so why not give her double casts, also double warp Marianne - Dancer - levin sword plus her great support focussed faith pool, she also gets +1 movement from getting A in horses Leonie - Bow Knight from Paladin Raphael - War Master Lorenz - Dark Knight - one of two units to learn Agnea's arrow
I would say lysithea should end in dark knight the extra mobility allow her to get more map coverage and canto allows her to hit and run without being left in danger along with the extra dark tomefaire damage
I actually made Marianne my dancer. She was my main healer and when she got special dance she became a great support unit. Her proficiency in swords and her relic weapon actually proved to be useful once she became a dancer as well.
TBH Golden Deer has the most versatility in the fact the students here are especially suited to meme teaming. All archers? You good. Hilda and her manservants? Go nuts. I literally have played this route so many times specifically because someone came up with a stupid idea that I could appropriate. Right now I’ve made Marriane and Lythitha Mortal Savants and everyone else is just trying to make sure they don’t die, including their best boi, dancing Ralph. Fear the deer!
*looks back at team* Soooo I made my lysithea a mortal savant (stuck with Levin sword all game) and Raphael a great knight (unmovable object + unstoppable force)
Not sure if that's worth it unless you already have two other mages. The two magic range staves you get from paralogues should give all of her spells 3-4 range. Mastery gives 4-5 range. Her spells can be stronger than levin Dark Knight has better move, better speed growth, and the same magic growth as savant.
@@MistahJuicyBoy the reason why I made her a mortal savant (and you may this is rediculous) is bc back in my Fates days, I had fun in one run putting units into ridiculous classes. My favorite to this day was swordmaster Elise. I thought I could get the same fun out of lysithea and mortal savant
To be fair, it’s not like Mortal Savant Lysithea can’t use Thyrsus and +range from S+ rank magic ... unless you mean you took her through Mercenary/Thief in your regular party (and not, like, as an adjutant (adjutants don’t break weapons)) haha
@@bleh491 dude, have even more fun with sets, WYVERN LORD/FALCON KNIGHT LYSITHEA, imagine her swinging a thunder axe or using thunderbrand aboard a falcon knight, you lose the spells, yeah, but its for funs sake
As the first route I chose, the class paths you chose for the most part were the classes I gave to my units! For example, Assassin Ignatz, Great Knight Hilda, and Falcon Knight Leonie! I feel like this House is the most flexible in terms of customization. Thanks Jae! Can’t wait for the Seiros Units!
I put Hilda through the heavy armor classes. Everything else was kinda similar. I also completely accidentally got Linheart with accidentally having a really good tea time with him on his birthday and just going with the support level to get him.
Post time skip Claude gets Pass in addition to his 1.2x exp gain. Leonie also works extremely well as an Assassin and you can end on Bow Knight Another thing to note is that Lysithea's budding talent gives her Soulblade a magic damage combat art which is quite nice. Get her sword proficiency to C and she'll do amazing damage with a Levin Sword maybe you could even make her a Mortal Savant. Your sample team was missing Byleth what class would you have him/her be?
Also worth mentioning that both Ferdinand and Lindhart are the only two out of house students that have Paralogue pairings with Golden Deer students, so you most definitely want to recruit both of them in any Golden Deer playthrough. They also round out the team quite nicely, as Ferdinand makes an excellent 2nd Wyvern Lord, and Lindhart another dedicated healer. Specially helpful if you end up making Marianne your Dancer, which you most definitely should if you don't end up recruiting anyone else for that role.
Speaking of the golden deer members there's a few I wanna talk about. Considering how much I like using gauntlets, having your gauntlet users go down brigand to get death blow is a fantastic idea. I honestly didn't know of brigand's skill until I played the black eagles route with caspar. After that switch him into grappler then war master ensures they'll hit like a truck everytime with fistfaire. I'm doing this with Raph from now on since, well he's a big boi with a big strength stat. Lysithea to no one's surprise is destined to be a magical nuke. Getting the fiendish blow skill from mage is a major asset with her high af magic. In terms of mastery class, I'd argue she doesn't need the extra spell slots gremory offers unless you like 2 uses of warp for speed running the map/utility. I went gremory my first time around, but from now on I'm more likely to go dark knight just because of tomefaire and high movement.
Great Video. The only thing I do differently when promoting a unit to a Falcon Knight is skip out on a advance class promotion like a Paladin. Instead of wasting my time on grinding a unit's riding skill to B, it is much better to spend that time easily rasing their sword skill to C then focus back on getting their Flying and Lance skills to B+ and A respectfully, so they can be in the class soon as they reach level 30.
Honestly Lysithea as a dark knight with the Gloucester relic is too good, her nuke potential and covering half of every map is just insane, (pavise is also nice for her to have)
I am doing my 1st playthrough and don't know much about fire Emblem games. Thanks for the video! Leonie surprised me as I never get her killed and she seems to just clean the map up wherever she goes. She is defetly a sleeper character.
Marianne makes a great dancer with her relic and sword avoid, you can also make her into Falcon Knight late game if you give her dancer, she she wont have the best stats because of the dancer classes growth hits in magic and attack but she turns into a dodge tank and can still deal some damage with Kevin sword and her relic
I got free sylvain pretty last minute and realized how good of a dark knight he would be so I ended up making Lorenz a holy knight. I think I made a good choice.
Surprised Falcon Knight Marianne was not mentioned. She has all the proficencies and makes a solid mageslayer. I had her dual-class, switching between Holy Knight and Falcon Knight depending on the map. I also had her dip into many different classes along the way, equipped with the Knowledge Gem to pick up class masteries. Renewal goes really well with her passive ability, the Goddess Ring, and the Spear of Assal, letting her recover 60% of her max HP at the start of each turn by endgame. Dipping into Dark Mage with Ignatz for Poison Strike is also a good option to bring up his lackluster damage. His personal +20% Hit, Poison Strike, and Seal Strength make him a great Longbow user.
For my ignatz I went straight into assassin, I already had Ashe as my sniper/bow knight so he filled a niche in my group. Honesty he was a pretty dope assassin
I finished my first playthrough a week ago and most of my units had a really different build compared to yours. It's funny how diverse each unit can be in this game.
I don't think you need to hard commit to one magic type or the other while progressing through Lysithea's classes. I think it's much better to go Mage -> Bishop -> Gremory. That way she still gets Fiendish Blow from Mage, but you also have two Warps to work with while waiting for Gremory. You might lose a little bit of firepower from not going Warlock, but let's be real, she's oneshotting everything even without a Dark Tomefaire backing her up.
I needed the front line personally and having the Pope Raphael become a great knight is well worth it, he may have a weakness in riding but its not that hard to overcome. Gave him the Gloucester Axe and watch him one shot every armor/squishy unit in the game while taking 0 damage from 90% of physical enemies
I'm on BL and I pretty much recruited Lorenz after recruiting Lysithea for his relic. But I'm actually starting to like the guy & I wanna make him ino a Dark Bishop & Dark Knight
Marianne makes for a great dancer, and can get to all magic routes easily. In fact only her flying proficiency is irrelevant but that's basically just a lore thing since dark pegasus knights arent a thing.
I like marriane as a dancer. She becomes a really good support unit because she can both heal and dance. And the sword avoid ability goes well with her relic weapon.
*Laughs in falcon knight leonie and mortal savant Marianne* Also am I the only one that didnt got flayn to focus on being a magic class since i made her a falcon knight and a mortal savant wielding the Levin Sword+?
I will say - HIlda as a Falcon Knight is ... amazing. the only hinderance she doesn't have is axefaire -which isokay because when you add death blow (fighter),darting blow (pegasus), her hidding talent in armour, and seal def from being a wyvern - you're not missing the axefair. Girl is doubling or criting anything in her path. and you can park her in front of danger, and she's missing most things. for most of my magic classes- i just bounce them through each class until they get their As to pass Gremory. the white line helps res (and luck AND magic) A LOT, while black/dark line has magic. that's it. so honestly i'd bypass warlock unless you really want whatever it gives you. Marianne (for me) has been A Holy KNight (Blegh). Gremory (amazing) Mortal Savant (amazing) and now she's a dancer. I would suggest the following Monk - Mage- Priest/Bishop (brief detour in Mercenary for some strengh/speed growths and more importantly vantage). then pick Dancer/Mortal Savant/Gremory give the girl a levin sword, equip her dark mage, and let her blood compel you.
I just bought this game a few days ago and I'm kinda just winging it based on their preferences, lol. Everyone seems to be doing fine except for Ignatz that seems to be falling behind in exp since I keep him behind everyone since he's weak, lol.
Nice vid as always! Will you round out the 3 Houses class coverage by doing the church units? Obviously most of them aren’t nearly as flexible or accessible as your starting units (especially in some routes) but they’re worth consideration imo!
I'm a bit disappointed you didn't mention Mortal Savant for Marianne. That class is usually trashed as being bad, but in her case it's actually a very solid option. She gets to make use of her relic as well as Levin Sword combined with Soulblade for an extremely potent offense. Only downside is it's infantry based so you lose Canto from Dark/Holy Knight War Master's another very strong option for Ignatz. His low Str growth is completely negated by War Master's innate 15% Str growth. His Dex/Spd/Luck also remain high so it's not unusual to see him quadding enemies at a 65-80% crit rate with Killer Knuckles+.
at first I was disappointed about the video, because my Golden Deer's squad coming really late., but after watched it, glad the video is coming late.. because the editing really improved, and the info and knowledge you share is really helpful and have a weight in it, especially when you mention Master Class is really not necessary in some cases. but I don't like the idea of Ignatz being a Dancer lol keep up the good work man.
Honestly I found Lysithea amazing as a faith unit (without forgetting reason) since she gets both seraphim (amazing for fighting monsters) and abraxas. She was amazing throughout the game
"ignatz does not have a good spell list that he can take advantage of" blizzard and fimbulvetr have high crit and he definitely takes advantage of them with his massive dexterity stat, easily reaching like 70 crit
I have some comments about Ignatz. While it's certainly viable to have him end his class progression as Mortal Savant in the lategame, I believe you get far more utility out of Ignatz through Monk/Mage classes rather than Myrmidon/Thief during the early-midgame. It's really important to note that Ignatz has access to Physic at C Faith, and in this game being a magic oriented class doesn't lock you out of using physical weapons and combat arts. So earlygame you can still use Steel Weapon combat arts for some nuke damage, but focusing on Reason/Faith lets you tap into Ignatz's decent spell list and also gain access to Heal/Physic as an extra source of EXP. Also if you're trying to grind out Authority on Ignatz as a way to get access to his Rally buffs, having access to Heal spam is even more useful for gaining free Authority rank as well.
honestly, i made my raphael a great knight. he got enough brawling proficiency to get Healing Focus before his last promote, and he was hitting most enemies hard enough to kill or cripple in one hit with an iron or steel axe, despite not doubling hardly anything. i gave him a brave axe in the last couple missions of the game and he was an untouchable bulldozer that could heal his entire health pool just by thinking.
I actually ended up with Ignatz as a Mortal Savant in my first run, say what you want about the class, but it’s perfectly fine for him for the same reason as Dancer. Plus, this gives him a chance to actually crit a bit more thanks to his spells having high crit rates. It really is a shame that Golden Deer doesn’t have more apparent sword expert, unless you really want to put in the effort for Claude, than Ignatz, but for my first run where I didn’t have a chance to recruit anyone other than Dorothea, he worked ok as an Assassin/Mortal Savant.
I did the same with him :D I recruited Felix though, because as you mentioned there is no major sword expert. But Ignatz is just so strong with the high crit rate when using magic. He also makes great use of thunder sword and magic bow.
8:08 As a side note (to the Mortal Savant routes), another route you could take for Ignatz is, Commoner -> Fighter -> Archer -> Sniper -> Mortal Savant The only issue I noted when I did this was that in Melee he will be kind of weak, but with a Good bow (or two) and okay Spells, he is pretty good against any enemy, and it makes him a Jack of all Trades when it comes to what he can fight comfortably however, if doing this it might be best to give him a Killing Edge for a Sword and a few Bows, since they will remain his strength and his primary method of attacking even with his now greatly expanded options for combat, personally I made him and Felix Mortal Savants during my Golden Deer run, and used a One-Two punch strategy with them. EDIT: Blanked on which class had which requirements (change Solider to Fighter).
I personally really enjoyed making Marianne a Falco Knight and giving her a combination of a Levin sword, her paralouge sword and using her soulblade combat art. Lorenz going down the armoured knight route was also enjoyable, but that was mostly because RNJesus blessed him with high overall growths, especially the defensive ones.
Here is what you should do early game as GD on Maddening (fresh game, no NG+) in order to get past the early hurdles as GD. (Up to about Miklan) Afterwards goals can change drastically for some characters, so this is only early recommendation for Maddening. Claude: Bow and Authority (Instruct anything you want) Get high enough Bow (A) and Claude will get Encloser, a shorter range shot that stops a unit from moving. Hilda: Lance and Axe (Instruct Heavy Armor Budding Talent, then Flying) What you want is Pegasus Knight, and Darting Blow is useful on Maddening up to the mid-late game. Ignatz: Bow to C+ ASAP for Break Shot (Instruct Reason Magic for Seal Strength) Keep going bow to A for Warding Arrow, you can shut down mages, very useful on Maddening. Leonie: Bow and Lance, Bow to C+ ASAP for Break Shot (Instruct Bow and Flying) Leonie don't need to keep doing bow, but it's good to route her through Pegasus Knight on Maddening. Lorenz: Flexible, use Lorenz to round out your team. Recommended off talent build on Maddening is Armored, Fortress, Great Knight because GD needs a good physical tank, if Hilda isn't. Lysithea: Reason to B ASAP, shouldn't have to say why. (Instruct Reason until B, and then Faith till D for Heal) Marianne: Faith to B ASAP for Silence. (Instruct whatever you like) Shutting down mages makes your life a lot easier. Raphael: Fist to B ASAP. (Instruct whatever you like) Monster Crusher is useful at beating down softened units, and Healing Focus is just a great self heal ability. Sylvain: Use him to patch what your team lacks. Turn him into tank so Lorenz can go Dark Mage or vice versa, his stat growth isn't quite as flexible, but he is free at the start for F Byleth, so no reason not to make good use of him if available. Maddening Tips: 1. Make all magic users learn Heal, healing exp isn't nerfed, so it's a good way to make sure mages can keep up with the level if they are not getting the kills. Plus, more healing is good. 2. Recruit additional healer(s) ASAP. There is a reason why the game made it so easy to recruit Dorothea and Mercedes early game. There are going to be missions where you want to split up. 3. Don't bother doing auxiliary battles early game except Rare Monsters or quests. Explore as much as possible to recruit and get professor levels up. Auxiliary battles don't give good exp on Maddening because the level of enemies are too low and the exp nerf. Rare Monsters and paralogues gives much higher exp, and better rewards. 4. Make sure characters hit the above goals for C+ and B ranks if you want to defeat Death Knight the first time, particularly Byleth needs to be able to not get doubled by the Death Knight because Lysithea can't one shot the 1st time, gambits are unreliable early game and deals poor damage against the DK, so basically you need about 9 more points of damage from someone before Lysithea can do her thing. A level 10 Byleth with Iron Sword should be able to survive as long as DK doesn't crit, and iron sword should prevent a double. 5. Cook food every time you explore. +1 SPD or +1DEF are all very useful on Maddening and are easy to get the fish for, and they stack for the current month. Plus, Mercedes loves to cook, and you probably want to pick up a healer early game. Two birds, one wok. 6. Take your time and save your Divine Pulse if the mission doesn't have a turn limit. The more risk you take the more Divine Pulse you expend because things can easily go wrong on Maddening. 7. For statue upgrades, you want to aim for exp +5% on all 4, then Class Exp +1, then Divine Pulse +1, then Divine Pulse +1 on all statues, then find a statue you want for your style and dump points all into that one before moving on. If you really hate Divine Pulse, then start focusing on one statue earlier after Class Exp +1 8. When you start a mission, if the 1st and 2nd level ups are both crap, you can reset till it's at least decent. This is because I noticed the level up stat bonus are either mostly crap, mediocre, or good. If you start out crap, you probably won't get great stat bonuses rest of the mission on level ups either. Adjutant level up stat bonuses are fixed unless you load from a different week, personally I wouldn't worry too much about a few crap rolls. However, no reason to screw yourself out of stat points right at the start of battle, but I can understand if people think this method is a bit gamey. By doing the above you should have a solid ground work to beat the 1st part of the GD route on a fresh playthrough of Maddening. Things get easier after Miklan so you can easily switch builds if you so wish before hitting part 2, and honestly the first few months are the toughest. Once you start snowballing, things get much more manageable, sometimes even easy.
Ohhh .. Juicy info. So golden deer excels on high movement, high dodge rate and attack power while sacrificing on the defense department. But hearing this video, i will try to experiment different builds and unusual builds. Also i heard the staff can be used Lysinthea and Lorenz makes me think of doing best of both worlds, Baton Touch might solve that so i can take advantage of their crest and makes better use of their abilities. Also: Lysithea is basically like Aqua from Konosuba but she's more useful than the useless goddess herself.
My meme classes for GD I'm doing right now: Claude warlock/mortal savant Hilda assassin Lorenz fortress knight Marianne falcon knight Ignatz bishop Leonie dancer Lysithea swordmaster Raphael sniper Going fine so far (just did battle of eagle and lion)
One thing I once heard someone point out is that half of Ignatz's spells have some lower hit rates, but that his Watchful Eye balances that out almost fully. Trickster/Mortal Savant is pretty damn nice on him.
Just wanted to point out that ignatz also makes a great wyvern lord, so that he gets avo+10, and he can make a great dodgetank with his huge speed combined with his 80ish max luck that goes with miracle... Tested it, breaks the game

Can you list the timeskip 3 lords personal skills
I haven't found a single case where great knights are good
1) their speed is shit and almost never doubles
2) their bulk is irrelevant by time you can become one since your characters should all be one rounding.
3) paladins are just better every time.
armors just suck in this game due to their shitty speed and low mov. their defense is overkill since the difference is taking little damage to no damage. The best part about armors is the proficiency for "weight -3 or -5" effectively giving +5 speed
Horse Units are not good until advanced or master class, the hit to spd generally results in the character being speed screwed.
I had Leonie become fighter->brigand>paladin or fighter-> pegasus -> paladin -> falcon. The paladin helps with str growths to prep for falcon but this path can be wack if you arent playing NG+
Priest is nothing special, better to get the mage’s fiendish blow
Vantage/wrath doesnt work because you need to initiate battle for wrath to activate when at low HP
I look forward to your Church video and even though you've made mistake I still find these videos very informative and entertaining. Keep up the great work.

Raphael really is the pope we deserve.
I actually think it's worth dipping Raphael into the Bishop class for its mastery skill Renewal, then equipping him with the Goddess Ring and feeding him Luck boosting items so he becomes an immortal god who regenerates all his HP per turn.
Thanks for the war Demi god improvements.😂
You don't even need Renewal for him to be a golden god. Stack luck for more Goody Basket procs and abuse Healing Focus. If he doesn't die in one turn (he won't) he can't be killed.
He also dosen't have a weakness in Faith and if you're going full gauntlets that's only one skill.
The edit of him with the pope hat almost made fall off of my chair. It's so ridiculous but...... ya can't not love it. XD 🤣
I mean now you can just give Claude a shield and Failnaught and watch him torture Dimitri and Edelgard in the game

Men build her as a Gremory...
Only Gods build her as a Mortal Savant.

She's my dancing queen. Young and sweet!
I love this
But have you ever tried sniper/bow knight Mercedes?
I also chose that for her. Her movement shoots up on top of her ability to still heal from range
She's probably the second best dancer in the game after Edelgard
@@bathoms583 And for the most part most don't change Edelgard anyway. I honestly wouldn't but I am definitely leaning towards Marianne as my Dancer.

My 2 cents on some considerations:
Leonie: Sub cavalier for Pegasus Knight initially for EZ darting blow.
That is the thing with 3H bow untis arent bad on enemy phase due to close counter or the mini bow
Close counter is i think c tier bow which isnt to hard to reach for anyone that needs it
Bow units are no more strictly player phase than any other type of unit.
I´m constantly trading the relic between Lorentz and Lysithea.
Or maybe... Dark Knight? Horsie for zoomies. And you get black tomefaire and dark tomefaire
Finally, someone understands my talent! So many people don’t listen to me when I tell them, ignoring me! What do they take me for, a child?
@@Rain-sr3km Calm down and eat some cake
i just keep her as a warlock until i get her faith high enough to be a gremory
Disagree on Ignatz's spells. He only gets 3, but they all have high critical stats. Get him assassinate and then make him a mortal savant. If he doesn't kill the enemy he will have seal strength (his budding talent ability) and decrease incoming damage.
FWW Galahad i made my an Ignats mage dark mage dark bishop and got vantage on him so he just absolutely slaps as dark knight lmaoooo
As someone that took the "run Ignatz through evil magic school" route of things I can confirm that the dude is a crit god when it comes to magic, and I kept him in the magic classes from day one.
Interesting choice. I only ever made him a Bow Knight.
Why not both? She builds class exp fast anyways just have her bounce around and get all the class skills she can
The +10 heals rocks as well
Tbh Bowbreaker is not that good on Lysithea. Bows are never a big threat and even when they start to become a threat, Lysithea just one shots them with her 5 range Hades (or literally any spell)
It's not bold at all. She does not belong anywhere near the Warlock class. It would be absolutely foolish to make her one.
Will you do a video for the Knights/Church of Seiros or Teachers? You know, Shamir, Seteth, Alois, etc

Shamir is good because she's fairly easy to make into a Bow Knight
Great video series! It’s fun to learn about different class options other people took for the students, seeing which skills and potential I hadn’t considered developing for a character. My younger sister is new to FE and is overwhelmed by the class choices, so I think this guide is also great for newcomers like her.
That being said, I certainly would like sit for a cup of tea with you, so that we may hold a riveting discussion about the legend, the god amongst men, Lorenz Hellmen Gloucester.
I kinda like taking Hilda into Pegasus for the speed growth rates, since it's not too hard to get her qualified for it xD...
Doing that this playthrough. Already unlocked death blow thru new game + so now I'll get her darting blow too :D
Claude - master archer and brigand then wyvern rider then his lord class for the rest of the game
Hilda - Brigand, Wyvern Rider then Wyvern Lord
Ignatz - Bow Knight but with Dark Mage mastered for poison strike for hit and run/chip damage
Lysithea - Gremory and give her Lorenz's hero relic, she frequently doubles so why not give her double casts, also double warp
Marianne - Dancer - levin sword plus her great support focussed faith pool, she also gets +1 movement from getting A in horses
Leonie - Bow Knight from Paladin
Raphael - War Master
Lorenz - Dark Knight - one of two units to learn Agnea's arrow
I try this build. Thanks!

Not sure if that's worth it unless you already have two other mages. The two magic range staves you get from paralogues should give all of her spells 3-4 range. Mastery gives 4-5 range. Her spells can be stronger than levin
Dark Knight has better move, better speed growth, and the same magic growth as savant.

Thanks Jae! Can’t wait for the Seiros Units!
I put Hilda through the heavy armor classes. Everything else was kinda similar. I also completely accidentally got Linheart with accidentally having a really good tea time with him on his birthday and just going with the support level to get him.

Your channel is so underrated. You deserve every sub you get!
Post time skip Claude gets Pass in addition to his 1.2x exp gain.
Leonie also works extremely well as an Assassin and you can end on Bow Knight
Another thing to note is that Lysithea's budding talent gives her Soulblade a magic damage combat art which is quite nice.
Not that it's /that/ important since he can fly, but Claude's personal skill also gives him pass I think.
Pass is always amazing to have, and will absolutely help his movement even being a flyer.
Claude will only receive pass in his post-timeskip’s Leicester Lineage+ according to the fandom and wikis
@@LFPman with the doc you can remove his weakness.

18:06 *Cries in Mortal Savant Marianne with somehow a good strength stat*
I am doing my 1st playthrough and don't know much about fire Emblem games. Thanks for the video! Leonie surprised me as I never get her killed and she seems to just clean the map up wherever she goes. She is defetly a sleeper character.
Marianne makes a great dancer with her relic and sword avoid, you can also make her into Falcon Knight late game if you give her dancer, she she wont have the best stats because of the dancer classes growth hits in magic and attack but she turns into a dodge tank and can still deal some damage with Kevin sword and her relic
Making Raphael a Bishop maximizes his Luck stat to boost his personal skill!
Marianne makes a great dancer, for me she can one shot pretty much every unit with a sword and soulblade combat art
I got free sylvain pretty last minute and realized how good of a dark knight he would be so I ended up making Lorenz a holy knight. I think I made a good choice.
Please make one on the other characters like Flayn, Manuela, Catherine, etc. I know it might be stupid but needed!
Leonie makes a great dodge-tank falcon knight with that speed growth!
For Lorenz when you make him into a paladin he’ll learn frozen lance. Just equip him with a ton of steel and silver lances weapons and spam away
YES!!! In my VW play trough he could one shot almost anything with frozen lance
*laughs in the dlc that added Dark Flier*
Marianne's relic was great on my run because it's attack is based magic a Levin
I'm liking the Pokemon background music, good video
I like marriane as a dancer. She becomes a really good support unit because she can both heal and dance. And the sword avoid ability goes well with her relic weapon.
EZ choice for the entire Golden Deer house....
MEME LORDS
*Laughs in falcon knight leonie and mortal savant Marianne*
Also am I the only one that didnt got flayn to focus on being a magic class since i made her a falcon knight and a mortal savant wielding the Levin Sword+?
I'm back and i found some more mryms uwu
7:53 both paths have mrym
and that's basicly it
gg wp bud wp
may the raphael smile upon you
Raphael took care of like half the final map on golden deer as a war master. Which is good, cuz I needed that!
I will say -
HIlda as a Falcon Knight is ...
amazing.
the only hinderance she doesn't have is axefaire -which isokay because when you add death blow (fighter),darting blow (pegasus), her hidding talent in armour, and seal def from being a wyvern - you're not missing the axefair.
Marianne (for me) has been
A Holy KNight (Blegh).
Gremory (amazing)
Mortal Savant (amazing)
and now she's a dancer.
I would suggest the following
Monk - Mage- Priest/Bishop (brief detour in Mercenary for some strengh/speed growths and more importantly vantage).
then pick
Dancer/Mortal Savant/Gremory
give the girl a levin sword, equip her dark mage, and let her blood compel you.
Actually speaking on Healer Raphael, thanks to the War Cleric class he can make a pretty decent one :)
I'm a bit disappointed you didn't mention Mortal Savant for Marianne. That class is usually trashed as being bad, but in her case it's actually a very solid option. She gets to make use of her relic as well as Levin Sword combined with Soulblade for an extremely potent offense. Only downside is it's infantry based so you lose Canto from Dark/Holy Knight
War Master's another very strong option for Ignatz. His low Str growth is completely negated by War Master's innate 15% Str growth. His Dex/Spd/Luck also remain high so it's not unusual to see him quadding enemies at a 65-80% crit rate with Killer Knuckles+.
I made my Hilda a Great Knight just before the final boss. Then I found out the final map (in GD) is mostly wasteland
Some Frickface f (but thanks for the warning, haha)
at first I was disappointed about the video, because my Golden Deer's squad coming really late., but after watched it, glad the video is coming late..
because the editing really improved, and the info and knowledge you share is really helpful and have a weight in it, especially when you mention Master Class is really not necessary in some cases.
but I don't like the idea of Ignatz being a Dancer lol
keep up the good work man.
Great video! Been Raph as Pops gave me a huge chuckle.
What does he mean by making Raphael the pope class? I don't see it as a class and don't know what he means
Honestly I found Lysithea amazing as a faith unit (without forgetting reason) since she gets both seraphim (amazing for fighting monsters) and abraxas. She was amazing throughout the game
"ignatz does not have a good spell list that he can take advantage of" blizzard and fimbulvetr have high crit and he definitely takes advantage of them with his massive dexterity stat, easily reaching like 70 crit
also mortal savant is a bad class make him a dark knight if you want to use his spells
I’m loving the cheese class tier list at 1:34, by the way, A+ delivery
I feel like the magical monster that is Lysithea overshadows mage lorenz so i often see him made into just a physical character
honestly, i made my raphael a great knight. he got enough brawling proficiency to get Healing Focus before his last promote, and he was hitting most enemies hard enough to kill or cripple in one hit with an iron or steel axe, despite not doubling hardly anything. i gave him a brave axe in the last couple missions of the game and he was an untouchable bulldozer that could heal his entire health pool just by thinking.
I did the same with him :D
I recruited Felix though, because as you mentioned there is no major sword expert. But Ignatz is just so strong with the high crit rate when using magic. He also makes great use of thunder sword and magic bow.
8:08
As a side note (to the Mortal Savant routes), another route you could take for Ignatz is,
Commoner -> Fighter -> Archer -> Sniper -> Mortal Savant
The only issue I noted when I did this was that in Melee he will be kind of weak, but with a Good bow (or two) and okay Spells, he is pretty good against any enemy, and it makes him a Jack of all Trades when it comes to what he can fight comfortably however, if doing this it might be best to give him a Killing Edge for a Sword and a few Bows,
since they will remain his strength and his primary method of attacking even with his now greatly expanded options for combat, personally I made him and Felix Mortal Savants during my Golden Deer run, and used a One-Two punch strategy with them.
EDIT: Blanked on which class had which requirements (change Solider to Fighter).
I'm glad there someone out here advocating for Lorenz! He's a good boy who deserves his hero's relic!!
(Instruct Reason until B, and then Faith till D for Heal)
Marianne: Faith to B ASAP for Silence.
Maddening Tips:
If you really hate Divine Pulse, then start focusing on one statue earlier after Class Exp +1
Really detailed analysis! Im starting my golden deer so its really useful!
My meme classes for GD I'm doing right now:
Claude warlock/mortal savant
Hilda assassin
Lorenz fortress knight
Marianne falcon knight
Ignatz bishop
Leonie dancer
Lysithea swordmaster
Raphael sniper
Going fine so far (just did battle of eagle and lion)
Been waiting for this.
Thanks man.
I can see that being effective. Being weak in flying kinda sucks though.
@@papita69xxx
Eh, dismount makes it practically a non-issue.
@@MurasakiNoKami i wasn't talking about that. Ignatz is weak in flying meaning it takes longer to raise his flying proficiency
@@papita69xxx
Oh whoops, I completely misread that! Sorry.
