Good informative content for those who wait for new medications.
Well presented!
Your introduction is very detailed and I believe it will play a positive role in the future.
Yes you did a great job and it helped me
Is there a good place for treatment, and do they have exercise programs and nutrition for them and counselors. I feel this is much needed.
Thank you for this insightful presentation !
Important information. All currently available antipsychotic medications cause side effects that make them difficult to take. I believe this is because they all block dopamine, which is involved in feeling pleasure and reward, coordinated movement. Some of the worst side effects are dystonic reactions and akathesia which I would not be able to tolerate long term. All the antipsychotics I have tried dampen my ability to feel motivated, and my ability to enjoy things. I take antidepressants to try to treat these side effects, but they are not effective enough to fully treat the problem. New medications with new mechanisms of action are badly needed
Heh, that not enough, the D2 receptor is a major signaling component in glia cells.
So its blockage leads to the death of astrocytes and microglia.
@@fragileomniscience7647 I'm not surprised to hear that they might be damaging to some parts of the brain
Hi there one last thing, you have been very helpful in describing this medication and creating a small platform to discuss it. I am very hopeful for this medication (maybe overly so) but am trying to piece this in my head as to how it would work. What it would do etc. one question I have is if patients somehow described hypnogogic or hypnopompic feelings, thoughts images, optimism sort of like returning to a younger self and somehow captured that in the medication. Do those buzzwords come up from what you know in patients testimonials? It’s all very interesting and thanks again for being so punctual about responding!
I am uncertain of what exactly the patient testimonials are surrounding this medication, as in the paper all they gave were assessment scores. My apologies on not being able to find exactly what you are looking for.
Dosik drops founded very useful but temporary
Does it work on the positive symptoms too?
doctors and helth care are recommend and pre testing this ?
Would this medication be useful for an otherwise healthy anhedonic person in relation to how physical excercise improves symptoms of general anhedonia?
This is a good question, unfortunately, that is information that I do not have, so I cannot give you a good answer for your question. I think that this question is something that you should bring up with your healthcare provider to help find the best medication for you
What affect does it have for positive symptoms ?
stellar presentation .
Do they do a brain scan first and lab work before they give meds.
nope
help me how by this drug im in very dangerous stuation at sri lanka
Hi again, so after talking with a few people I am kinda getting a picture of what Ulotaront is going to do…is it maybe like an MDMA feeling coupled with a MAOI am I correct? I was sort of thinking it would be more of a “exercise in a pill thing” but that was probably pretty unrealistic of me. Have you heard of KARxt and do you think that would be more effacious? Ulotaront is not demonstrating the strongest numbers as far as PANSS goes. It’s disheartening but wondering if I’m kinda on the right track with that guess? And once again thank you for sticking with this comment 😂section and answering questions it’s very nice of you to do that.
Is this drug available now??? Its heartbreaking my 24 year old son suffers from this illness and hes such a brilliant, beautiful person.

When it is available for patients
According to Sunovion Pharmaceuticals, the researchers are still comparing the long-term efficacy and safety of Ulotaront (SEP-363856) to existing medications for schizophrenia. This drug is currently in Phase 3 of the clinical trials, which can last for several years. There is progress!
