As a laser engraver who does all of this by fiber optic lasers, I have the absolute respect and appreciation for this work and the hours that goes into it. Often people tell me how talented we are for the engraving we do but this is where true talent lies. Hats off to you and I’ll be following your work.
@@bluesummers5051 hand engraving is more expensive than laser engraving (I own guns have have been both laser and hand engraved) but they do make money a lot quicker due to hand engraving takes so long. Butt you cannot beat the look of hand engraved firearms
Gun engraving and pinstriping are two things that are obviously done by hand, because until recently, machines to do that work didn't exist. I worked with a guy who did phenomenal pinstriping in the 80s I really admire that level of skill. I'm beginning to get arthritis in my thumb knuckles from auto mechanics, so I won't be going there. But I have some wood 1911 grips that I might try checkering if I don't find someone else to do it for me. When you start doing stuff like this you get an eye for other guys who have the same skill, and it always leads to improving your own ability when you see guys doing stuff that borders on impossible.
I once got bit by the bug for this (didn't have the funds, though, so I still have an itch) and went to a jewelry shop asking about engraving. The old man behind the counter said "That's a good business to get in to." As I asked "Why," I already suspected his answer. "Everyone's dead." I was very, VERY happy to see that microscope in the thumbnail. Keep the tradition alive, man. In 1000 years people will still appreciate the handmade stuff if they have souls.
@@leonardosantuario3346old ways is by hand, since the new way is laser engraving. Pretty simple doesn’t take a big brain to understand. Trust i am an idiot so i know.
You engravers are really humble. This the 3rd engraving video I’ve seen and all 3 of you have said that you’re not the “most experienced”. As if downplaying your own work. That said, your work is incredible. Keep it up.
Always great to see some fellow engravers on you today and see they do their work. Good job! I also love seeing the hand drawn and not a transfer cool beans
Bro ❤ good job One day you will be the best in the world Don't stop and Good luck, You're a very wonderful guy... That's a beautiful profession... You're also my colleague in this 🤩💯
If you can get good at this you can make good money doing it. Even if you dont want to do that, I would want to engrave every gun I have (besides antiques and such). From the thumbnail, you nailed it.
Amazing work beautiful craftsmanship there 👍 keep it up its always been something iv wanted to have a go at doing liked and subscribed all the best bro
