As you noted it's all in the individuals tastes as to light coverage, or full coverage. The lower piece ot that hipower, us the frame. Keep up the good work. Nicely executed!
I have been engraving some for about 6 years. You are much better than I at this point. I am starting to do a bit more but my drawing sucks. I like how you have figured out to draw on your firearms and engrave a small part at a time. Keep it up.
Was showing a friend your videos. I said you look 20. And do amazing work. Of course I'm old, and everyone looks somewhere between 18-25, because I have zero reference, and I like to treat everyone as adults. Mutual respect and shi.
You are well on your way to becoming a strong engraver. Don't take this wrong but add some mass to you lazy susan, it looks way to goosy/easily turned. You will do better with some friction when rotating, engraving ball vises have mass to smooth out the turning. One last thing, if you grinde down the SIDES of your graver it will be easier to see where you are going and you won't have to stop/start as often which makes it easier to get dog legs in the scroll. Suggest you grind off 1/3 of the diameter on each side of the business end about 3/4" back. Good luck, its a lot of fun ad the ooohs and awsss aren't hard to take either!! If you are not a FEGA member consider joining. Lots of help from very talented people there.
Great work bro! I’ve been engraving for a few years on jewelry, I use the Steven Lindsay airgraver and it works great for small and details, I always see the grs tools being used In videos, thanks for sharing your work with us💫💫hopefully I’m motivated to make my videos now💫💫
Always wanted to try a Steve Lindsay airgraver, I think the different ways of engraving are cool. Don't be afraid to make your own videos, the more engravers out there the better!
@@jwsahm6703 hopefully I’ll have a video up soon! I’ve been looking at the grs 901 but I’m not too sure how all the air connections of it sets up are and if it will connect, do those handpieces have the pistons inside of them as well? I hate to buy all the stuff that I have for my Steve Lindsay if I could just get the grs handpiece to work with what I have? Thanks for responding bro!
@@EstablishedLowriders When it comes to compatibility of both systems I know nothing. The handpieces do have the piston on the inside, but a larger machine like a GRS GraverSmith applies the pulses to the handpiece
awesome videos what tools do you use I can free hand any thing I have a raw slide I would love to try this on .ant help would be great thanks love you videos
Awesome work man, was the slide stripped to bare metal before you started? If so how would you go about refinishing/painting the raised portion without covering the engraved portion? For instance if you wanted the raised portion to be white but the engroaved portion to be the black you used in the video? Thanks for the upload your awesome!!
If you wanted the raised portion to be painted but not the engraving you could paint it first and engrave through the paint (or whatever finish it has), though this is not always recommended. To make the engraving black but not the metal I just rub black enamel into it and wipe away the excess. Also the gun was stainless to begin with so no prior prepping was done. Hope that answers it, thanks for watching :D
Oh my god… that is freaking AWESOME.. great job!!!!! What size graver did you use for the outline… and was that a pneumatic one for the stipling? What size.. I have been wanting to do this for so long but Im a little confused on what sizes to begin with. I also want to it by hand but I have a feeling mine won’t be anywhere as beautiful as this. I’ll just practice on some scrap metal.
Practicing on scrap metal is your friend! Can't mess up what's already scrap lol. I use a 120 degree v point for the line work. And yea I use a pneumatic for the stippling as well as all the rest of the lines, it's a grs GraverSmith machine with a magnum handpiece
I set the heel by eye so I don't know what the exact angle is, but around 15 degrees is a good start. The size of the heel is also important. Too small and the graver will just dig in as the heel is not big enough to ride on, and you will have to lower your hand just to keep it from digging in further. Too big and you will have to raise your hand high just to start a line. I use carbide gravers, but a high speed steel (HSS) graver is useful to practice graver geometry as they are much easier to shape and grind then carbide (at the cost of durability)
I have not done one yet, but I am very interested to see how it would go. No plans yet, but hopefully in the future I will try and post a video about it
How about your videos are very good friend. I am Mexican and I would like to learn how to make designs. Could you help me get the tool to start practicing. Greetings
What's parts exactly? If you mean EVERYTHING I used to engrave the gun... well... it's a hefty list. I plan on making a video talking about my whole set up in the future though

Quite a complement! Drawing is the hardest part for me, trying to imitate others drawings and also practicing all the time helped me a lot. Cheers!
Great work, do u have any fcb or Instagram account
I think you're very good, and I think your design is very graceful and flows beautifully.

Very nice. You can find numerous disassembly/assembly DVDs to learn about your firearm which will help tremendously.

I use a ball vise to hold the gun, and the vise is on a turntable to allow me to center it below a microscope
can’t wait to have a go❤
Amazing
Nice work! I have a question. What are your graver heel angles and width? sometimes I doubt if I get mine right, they dive in the metal really easy.

Thanks! Thought I was doing something wrong in the sharpening, maybe it’s my crappy turntable that vibrates that’s causing the cmax gravers to break.
I'd hope and assume he's joking about not knowing what the frame/lower, safety selector and mag release button are... LMAO
Nice.
Graver tool is expensive?..
What tool do you use?..
What tool do you used for ungraving .?
Is that push engraving?
Have you ever done engravings with slides that have black coating (ex. Glock slide/M&P)? If so how was your experience?
I have not done one yet, but I am very interested to see how it would go. No plans yet, but hopefully in the future I will try and post a video about it
What is the paint that you use to fill out the engravings called?
Rustoleum Enamel.
What kind of gravers are you using?
C max tungsten carbide from GRS. I use a .2mm flat for background, and a 120 degree v point for line work
How about your videos are very good friend. I am Mexican and I would like to learn how to make designs. Could you help me get the tool to start practicing. Greetings
Make one look like money.
I am not an engraver. I wonder if you are using an air engraver or a hammer or just pushing it over the metal
I think he's using a grs machine
I use a grs pneumatic air engraving machine, it's basically an air powered hammer
Just an fyi. The handle is called. "The frame "
Can anyone help me in finding these hand engraving tools , please 🙏
I wonder if he’s taking on clients
Is that ink?
Rustoleum protective enamel, flat black
Lindsay engraving??
