I didn’t go to Horace Mann but I went in there a few times before it closed. They put millions of Dollars into renovating that school and the gym the year it closed. It looks like it’s been closed longer than it has.
yeah that place has been closed for 20+ years (yeah i can't believe 2004 was 20 years ago either) but it looks just as bad as some of the places in Chernobyl
Back in my "Industrial Arts" days in Junior High (mid-80's), I remember those shop tables. They had small lockers on each side and the work table on top. And I totally forgot about the divided gym partition. One side was for the boys the other side for the girls. If you were sneaky enough you could squeeze behind the bleachers and peak around to the other side...WOO-HOO!!!
@@Alb3rt0G I just now saw this comment but no Gary actually deemed it a recreational site and basically encourages people to go there and explore at their own safety because it brings money into the town so you can go in as much as you want. I even went one night with a group of 6 and we were all carrying, as soon as we got out of the car a Gary cop drove right past and I'm assuming he saw all of our guns and just kept on driving
Welcome back, great to see you and another awesome explore! I went to Horace Mann elementary school in Maryville, so of course the title really got my attention. Love that gym and the auditorium...glad you didn't run into anybody; that life science book with the bullet holes was disconcerting. 😳 Thanks for sharing, see you on the next one! 👍😁
I explored in there a couple times back in 2009. Hard to believe it's been fifteen years! The amount of deterioration and decay since then is staggering. The auditorium used to be spotless!
Mr. Urbex is back! 👏🙌 That was a really nice big school it had literally everything, very nice launch point for the series. Can’t wait to see the rest of the adventures!

I remember the Urbex Channel “ Decay is headed your way” touring Gary, Indiana, a few years back, wow, everything is just gone, rusty hulks full of beautiful decay, everything is closed, how does anyone live in that chithole, I would crawl my way out of there, somehow, someway and just move anywhere. Good to see you back with another video man. Flying solo again! Cool! But going it alone in Gary? You've made smarter choices.
Welllllll, sometimes I feel like half the point of this channel is to make dumb choices 🤣
Gary gets a bad wrap it’s really not that bad anymore.

I remember we use to have some awesome sock hops in that auxiliary gym. We also did ROTC drills and competitions in there too.class of 93
Gary was wild in the 90's. Seems like a ghost town now.
Great to see more vids, and I look forward to seeing more of your take on an urbex landmark.
Everything in Gary is ruined . Horace Mann used to be a nice school . Look at it now , totally destroyed .
Thanks for the video
Those 2 drums were made by Ludwig, the blue and olive badge give it away. They were probably made in the 70's.
i just went here last week , plan to go again but in the day time the amount of stuff left over
Gary, Indiana, build a 30 feet wall, fill with concrete, it’s long been over!!
I hope you didn't go there alone.
I thought it here was a workout gym in there
SUPER SOMETHING 😮😮
What’s the address?
LETS GOOO
