I've been running a 3-across Polaris Ranger with tracks for 5 years. I have over 500 miles of back country use with the tracks on (wheels and tires are on the machine 9 months of the year). I use it in deep snow conditions...typically the snow is over 6 feet deep. The absolute #1 advantage to tracks on ANY OHV is flotation. It's the same reason somebody would wear snowshoes when traversing deep snow. All other considerations are, or ought to be, secondary. Keep in mind that all OHV track systems have gear reduction built into the hub. It's usually around 30%. This is mostly due to the extra torque required to spin the tracks. Also, tracks are MUCH heavier than tire/wheel combos. Expect 400 - 450 lbs. (180 - 230 kg) for all four tracks. The ride quality also goes way down with tracks. Install can be done at home. It takes me about an hour to install 4 tracks and 30 minutes to remove. It is more complicated than just swapping wheels. There are anti-rotation parts that have to be installed with the tracks. This necessitates extra bracketry, some of which may or may not remain on the OHV.
Having said all that, I'm not disparaging track systems. They have their place and are wonderful for their intended purpose. I wouldn't be able to perform some of my work without them. But people need to be aware of the trade offs.

Camso works with tractor manufacturers - articulated steering? Will these work in mud? I don't see these on YT SxS bogs.

You can use SpeedoHealer to re-calibrate your speedometer\bypass the speed limiter.

Ride experience should be... interesting. I'm thinking open cockpit + tracks + mud would equal... Well, might want to invest in a dry suit like divers wear! ;)

Its crazy how the Yamaha is the same price as a BRP Commander and its fit and finish is no where as nice.

Are you saying the X2/X4's fit/finish isn't as good as the Commander?! We have 2 Commander Max 1000 XT's and they're put together like an erector set.
