  • A look at the ongoing battle between land and sea in my new series "Lost Coastline". Here are sections of the Norfolk Coastline from Happisburgh up to Cromer from today back to the Victorian times. Some dramatic cliff falls particularly near Sidestrand! #Coastal #Erosion #Norfolk #Happisburgh #Mundesley #Overstrand

    As always absolutely fascinating.
Talking of which, Hemsby to Sea Palling with its off-shore barrage would be a good one to apply your magic too?
An interesting exercise here in what happens if you dont defend the coastline from the sea & the obvious benefits of doing so.

Oh the tidal erosion, the moral malaise! I quote Ian Anderson.

I'm guessing a lot of that washed away material ended up at Orford Ness.

The lost coastlines from Scarborough to Withernsea would make a good video 🤔

@@JamesFoxTimeTravelArtist On Withernsea seafront there is a sign showing where a church used to be many years ago - far out to sea.
      Part of the history -
"Old Withernsea was largely destroyed by the 15th century. In 1444 the church had been abandoned because of coastal erosion, and within a few years the entire village had been lost to the sea".
