Day Four - Norfolk Coastal Path | Cromer to Bacton on Sea

- The fourth day of my Norfolk Coastal Path walk. Today I started off in Cromer, enjoying the magnificent sea front and Henry Blogg bust. Before heading along the beach to Overstrand, Sidestrand and the cliff tops of Trimmingham, then it was lunch in Mundesley before making my way to Bacton-on-Sea.

You're doing great and I love the new emoji
Yes it is my favourite emoji so far too.
A beach hut on IOW somewhere between Shanklin and Sandown called "It ain't half HUT mum"
Only us oldies appreciating that one 😄
Windsor Davies would be proud.
@@cdwc indeed. 😄👍 Proper good Comedy. The good days. I still use his catch phrase from time to time "ohh dear... how sad.... never mind" 😄
Have the best day Marek... all the best. 👍👋
Hello C D 1. If I had a beach hut I would call it, "I've massively overpaid for this tiny garden shed which is so small my legs hang out from it when I sit down." They do look nice though as does Cromer. Stay cool!
Yes I would get bored sitting in the same place all the time.
Another quality video Cool Dude. I love the north Norfolk coast, the scenery is stunning. Idea for the emoji is a steaming "smelly" walking boot. I think that idea is bound to be a winner 🏆
Thanks cool dude. The boot is a good shout.
Its always a good day when my favourite Klang member gives me a good morning treat 😁
Ha. Thanks cool dude.
excellent walk and looking as cool as ever.
Thanks cool dude
Love it! Thanks
Great walk Marek, I love that they used that Winston Churchill quote, that made me laugh out loud!
Yes it is brilliant isn't it. I really loved Cromer.
Love this!
Thanks Nancy, and double thanks for joining.
There's a cool beach hut in Mudeford, Christchurch, called Jabba The Hut
I hope it is shaped like him and painted the same colour. Princess Leia in chains outside the front might be a bit much though.
Love this man! Thanks
That Churchill quote 🤣🤣🤣 I chose B luckily, so didn't blow owt up. Maybe a cheesy name like 'some like it hut' for beach hut 🤣 🏖Great walk 👍
'Some Like it Hut' is excellent cool dude.
Oooh nice one. I shall watch this later when I've done all of my mundane, adulty gubbins. 🙂
I seem to have about half an hour in the day left after I have done all my work and chores. Get Mini Marek to do them.
Received the prize cool dude. Many thanks! Tamara is saving it for her birthday next week.
Excellent. I hope you have a wonderful day of celebrations. Stay cool dudes.
Another lovely walk, and hello from the chap you met on Cromer pier in the evening! I see what you mean now from your earlier video / walk about your GPS taking you the longer route; earlier in the day I'd walked the way you should have gone down to West Runton. Keep up the great vids!
Ah yes. It was lovely to meet you. I am still annoyed I missed that part of the walk.
Fantastic video my beach hut would be called “the great escape”
I hope there would be a picture of Steve McQueen on the side and barbed wire on the top.
The only thing I heard about Cromer was a Joke in the window of charity shop in town along from it (Sheringham) and it said "The only thing I caught in Cromer was crabs" 13 year old me thought that was very funny.
Ha. The local football team (Cromer Town FC) are nicknamed the Crabs.
Great content.Thanks
Thanks cool dude.
Oh Cromer looks so nice! 🙂
If I had a beach hut I'd paint it yellow and pink so that it looked like a big Battenberg and I'd call it Bab.
I love the emojis. So adorable! Especially this one. 😁
A battenburg beach hut is an excellent idea.
Glad to see that was an enjoyable stretch of coastline. My beach hut would be called ‘Freddybobs’ in honour of the excellent C4 comedy ‘Mr Don & Mr George’
I just googled it and watched a two. minute clip of someone packing themselves for a holiday.
Another of my favourite tv series. I bought the Mr Don & Mr George series on VHS. The phrase “you can run but you can’t hide your legs” still sticks with me.
Great presentation mate. I live on that part of the coast. The golf ball thing is a radar dome. That area is a radar site to look over north sea
Cool. Thanks dude. What a wonderful place to live.
We went to the IOW recently and loved the names of the beach huts between Shanklin and Sandown !
Yes there are some cool ones along that stretch. It's always quite quiet there, even in the summer.
“The end is just after the middle.” - words to live by.
Glad you got a paid gig for one of these videos. Brilliant!
I’d call my beach hut - Allawah (which is aboriginal for, Stay here, Rest here, Sit down) 😁🇦🇺👍
:marek:
That is a great name for a hut. I still don't understand why the emojis don't work for you. It must be an ipad thing.
I might be related to Henry Blogg we both have the same shaped nose... so does that mean I might be related to you Marek? but a very informative walk, the golf ball radar on beacon hill was originally used by the army and built to detect German fast boats in WW2 now used by the RAF - I went there when I was in the army to play in a football match across the road from the radar.
Excellent info cool dude. It sounds like we are probably related. Hope you enjoyed the Pilgrim's Way.
@@cdwc Hi yes the Pilgrims Way was an excellent adventure, history and sights galore, day 5 has just come out
Thanks.
Dang, I am doing well on this Key of Norfolk challenge and just scraped through today's round. Great walks as always Mr Larwood-Blogg
Thanks Cool Dude #247. One day you will be part of my lifeboat crew in Cromer.
Phew! There’s a lot to cover today.
That big round white thing looks like a radar dome.
My beach hut would be cornflower blue on the outside and butter yellow on the inside. It would be called the Sausage Palace as a helpful hint to potential visitors about a suitable gift to bring me. Inside there would be a chandelier like the one in Three Colours Blue, a massive bean bag, a furry blanket and a camping stove.
I also think a sausage, or a sausage sandwich/bap would be a good emoji for your channel. I have a Pavlovian response to your videos of wanting a sausage bap. I’m making a lovely roast chicken dinner tonight, but now I want sausages, damn you Marek Larwood!
You may get some unwanted and confused late-night visitors if you call it Sausage Palace, but top marks on the decor
Guess what I am having tonight. Sausages!!!!! I think I might even have three. I agree with Steph 'Sausage Palace' might draw some unwanted attention. The colours and the chandelier sound fantastic though.
@@stephr7637 Thanks Steph but I'm quite into the idea of sitting on the mini veranda with a tartan blanket over my knees, in a rocking chair and having a un-cocked shotgun slung over my arm like some fierce old Nan from the wild west. I think that should keep the unsavoury element a bay. 😁
@@cdwc 3 Sausage show off!
Good bit of filming, can you tell me the name of the first keyboard/organ tune please.
I think it is in the description somewhere cool dude
Maybe they should have called the beach hut..........Mr stripey stripe stripe or old bluey mac blue ?
Well I like it anyway. 😂
Once you say the word Jabulani three times you can't stop.
It feels like a scene from I-Robot.
I can't hear the word "Cromer" without hearing in my head Lance from Detectorists say "Did you hear about Bob Cromer?" Another wonderful video, thanks Marek
I must get round to watching the Detectorists (that sounds like a Elvis Costello song).
I only caught up with Detectorists last year but it’s already one of my fave series. That moment just after the Red Arrows fly over is brilliant. I can’t imagine how they timed that to coincide with the story so maybe was it just improvised..?
@@cdwc you've not seen Detectorists? that's a pretty massive blind spot, and one that definitely needs addressing
My beach hut would be called 'Rats Cocks'. No reason. Great job Marrek. Stay cool!
You can tell people you store all your swimming gear inside rats cocks.
*Marek not Marrek* apologies cool dude.
The U.K seems to be experiencing some unseasonably mild, even sunny weather good news for you my cool friend 😎 I would name my beach hut All welcome
I am sure it will turn cold soon. The leaves are still on the trees so it does not even feel like Autumn has hit properly.
Cool hut name
Giant onion rings and a daddy long legs having a stroll on the beach. I couldn't ask for anything more in a video
I think I might write a poem about that Daddy long legs in the wind. Stay cool.
Sun of a beach... hut.
Good name
New emojis could represent common video themes - rubbish green hat, aggressive bovines, hamburgers, mushrooms, pink marshmallow snakes, Marek caught in gate, etc... Nice one
Excellent emoji suggestions. The hat does seem like a pretty popular one.
Can't believe I'm still in the clear on the challenge, I nearly always blow the power stations up when I'm left in charge. Those onion rings looked delicious!
I was out a couple of videos ago, it was getting quite tense !
If you get through the next episode you might be the only person left in the running for the Freedom of Norfolk.
@@cdwc fingers crossed!
Still in the freedom of Norfolk
:greenflappyhat:
I've been to Cromer dozens of times over the years and have never seen them goats on the cliff before.
The flappy hat is a very good call.
I would call my beach hut 'Joe Bloggs', and would paint it Sky-blue pink.
Fun as usual , I was wondering what ' food ' is Norfolk famous for? Devon has Cream Teas....Cornwall has Pasties and Norfolk has........? Seal burgers perhaps lol , I would paint my Beach hut Pink with white roof and call it " Marek after hill " =-P
Colman's Mustard!!!!! And maybe Bernard Matthews Turkeys.
Cromer Crab!
My beach hut would be called Beach Pod 129 and it would be purple with orange trimming
I like "Current Resident" for the name of my beach hut, painted in mauve.
This is an excellent call in terms of names and colour choice. Mauve is a pleasing word to say. Mauve.
172 likes and no dislikes. I have trolling tendencies but still felt compelled to drop a like
Rats! I chose A. I would call my beach hut "What treasure map?" Although I don't know what a beach hut is for and why I would own one. Love the ocean, looked like a great walk.
It was a very relaxing walk. I still don't really understand what a beach hut is for either. But I like all the different coloured ones. My favourite is the pink, grey and light blue decor I think (other than the cool dude colours).
You did well to get this far on the challenge.
Yo, cool dude, so brilliant to see another video! The big round thing is a cuckoo's egg. JABULANI
I'd call my beach house Bumhole and paint it Brown and Black to resemble my bumhole.
Bumhole on Sea.
My grandad was one of the lucky blokes who had to defuse those landmines. That might actually be him in the middle at 4:52 but it's to blurry to be sure.
Wow. That is incredible. It must have been terrifying.
So much business!
well, Pooman emoji would be excellent of course, but I think some kind of "points". emoji would be great & very useful.
I would paint my beach hut a sort of green apple shade with really dark purple trim & I would call it "tŷ traeth". b/c that's Welsh for beach hut (well, home)
Those colours are excellent cool dude.
@@cdwc thanks, dude.
Wasn't the Jabulani that swervy football from the world cup? I wonder what happened to the owners during 2010..... it is a mystery. And why should we not trust brown seals? Lovely video, the hight of my week so far, alongside the stuffed donkey my teen gave me for my birthday. Winning! CD#123
I looked it up and you are correct. Hope you had a great birthday. Jabulani.
@@cdwc Jabulani should be the new greeting and/or sign off for the CDWC!
I had one of these balls, someone left it behind at my uni's football pitch. It was very fun to play with!
Trimmingham Golf ball - It's a Radar station, according to Wiki In November 2006, the station became involved in controversy when motorists on the coast road blamed the station for causing car engines and lights to cut out. Speedometer dials swung up to 150 mph as motorists drove past, and a local garage owner who runs the nearest garage at Mundesley, said he had dealt with 30 calls over a couple of months.
This is an excellent fact cool dude. I went past a sign which warned paragliders of radar waves which I thought was very strange.
I would call my beach hut Dunsod Hall after my ideal activity level. It would be stripped back to the natural wood and varnished, with a cream coloured door (and window frame if applicable) a piece of seaweed would be tied on with string for weather forecasting purposes Another vote for the spherical object being a radome .
That sounds like a very classy beach hut. I would like to see that. I never understood why houses were called Dunroamin until I was about 18.
Great video. Nice one cool dude
Thanks cool dude
Alright! Hi Marek I would name my beach hut, the walking arms. To show I'm a professional walker, a professional pub enthusiast and my mate (my wife) can walk on her arms. Tar man.
Excellent name and thorough explanation cool dude.
Emoji idea -Vasoline 😂
I’d call my beach hut ‘Brian Eno’s last Monster Munch’
I like Brian Eno and I like Monster Munch. I wonder what colours you will paint it.
Hi Marek, I'd call my beach hut 'Rosemary Lickfold'.
I just googled Rosemary Lickfold and some business lady in the US came up.
@@cdwc Damn, you rumbled me! (she worked in Cardiff when I knew her)
Blimey, I did well on the snake challenge but have got them all wrong so far on this series of walks (sorry for blowing you up, Norfolk)
I’d rather have lots of nice holidays rather than buy a beach hut, but if I was forced to buy one I’d call it Susan and paint it a camo pattern to hide it from public gaze #Jabulani
Susan in the sand it would be called.
Externally my beach hut would be covered in bits of mirror to: 1. reflect the surrounding environment and provide some camouflage; 2. On sunny days dazzle/blind those attempting to approach; 3. Reflect the sun's rays keeping me nice and cool inside; 4. On sunny days provide a source of reflected heat which I could concentrate through lenses and use to ignite kindling for a bonfire. I would have a small pile of assorted used tyres and a couple of wind-chimes as accessories, to discourage people from bothering me. Internally the walls would be lined with bookshelves with floor cushions and one of those globe drinks cabinets, along with a gas camping stove that folds away to look like a battered old suitcase so my amenities don't ruin my aesthetic. My hut would not have a name.
A lot of thought has gone into this beach hut. The bits of mirror is an excellent idea. I can imagine blinded children screaming as they run from the hut. I think the worst thing about beach huts is that you can't move away from people nearby. I think maybe a hut up a tree or in the woods would be better.
I have also always wanted one of those globe drinking cabinets and also a massive library and comfortable leather recliner to go with it.
@@cdwc A worryingly little amount of thought went into it. Up a tree would be great if that would still count as a beach hut. My grandad had one of those globe things, to my child mind it was the height of classiness and cool.
I'd call my beach hut sea saw and it would be green and blue and black
A bit like the great Norwich City Away kit (without the green).
If I owned a beach hut I would paint it brown and call it Jabba.
I said my first words in Mundesley. I'd call a beach hut The Shingly Shed Wot Cost Shitloads.
The Shingly Shed Wot Cost Shitloads by the Sea shore surely. You should get a beach hut in Mundesley and put a blue plaque on it with your first words inscribed. What were they?
@@cdwc Water Tower. I was a gifted infant.
I'd call my beach hut Jabba the Hut.
Scotch egg Emoji, it would look cool
It is maybe too close to the emoji of my head.
Name of beach hut????? Has to be sandy balls 👍
Everyone loves sandy balls.
That they do lol that they do✌
I'd call my beach hut Clive.
Cool man. You don't hear the name Clive much any more sadly.
Nice music
Nice one
For the Emoji's just below the comment text box is a smiley face, click on the face and here are your Emoji's just click on them ! Stay cool !
Cool. Thanks dude. I did not know this. I will maybe make an instruction video for members.
Day 4,the half way point
Some superb scenery & interesting facts along the way
My hut would have multi coloured pastel paint flicked all over the outside body of the beach hut & named....wait for it....."Adventures!"
(Mainly based on the Lion, Witch & The Wardrobe). There would be no decor inside as once you opened the hut door you would disappear into another dimension.
Seeing Alan Partridge in your video reminded me of that song he sang when driving in Norfolk "Cuddly Toy" by Roachford!
Emoji ideas:- Good Luck emoji=Pic of your Cool Dude T shirt or 4 leaf clover. Stay Warm emoji=🤠 (Tilly hat) or pic of your Cool Dude T shirt.
Nice One emoji=👍
Your RUclips Subscription Membership is getting more & more exciting I can't wait to see what the December Exclusive Video will be! 🙂🚶
That sounds like the coolest of beach huts. Cuddly Toy was my favourite song when I was 13. I taped it off the radio. Those are also excellent emoiji ideas. I thought of doing some letters as emoijis so you could spell out Nice One. But they only allocate a number per no. of members you have. So I think I can currently make 13.
@@cdwc & 13 is unlucky too!😲😀
I would go for Jabba the Hutt
Cool name cool dude.
The word on everyone’s lips. Jabulani.
Jabulani.
Apparently Jabulani is a Zulu word meaning Rejoice. :)
JABULANI!!!!!!!!!!
Make a Pooman emoji, cool dude.
A good shout cool dude
It would black and grey
Challenge 4 - B
I fucked it with the meltdown this time. Sorry Norfolk.
I can't believe you destroyed Norfolk and also used the 'F' bomb when my Mum reads this. I am glad she wasn't in Norfolk at the time.
@@cdwc My beach hut would look like one of those fancy family-sized graves. Like a little piece of Highgate cemetery at the seaside. I fancy stepping out of it wearing swimming trunks and a snorkel. I am nothing if not spectacular.
And it seems to me, that you live your life, like a daddy long legs in the wind...
Those were the original lyrics.
The site at Bacton is a gas site
NUCLEAR GAS!
:mareklovesbushrangers: If you are related to the lucky nose rubbing guy… is there a part of you we can rub for luck?
This sounds ominous.
I will not be gaining the freedom of Norfolk and I'm devastated. I think I now also live in a timeline where there is no Norfolk to gain the freedom of.. so.....
I can't believe you destroyed Norfolk before I finished the walk.
@@cdwc In my radioactive timeline you gained speed powers from the nuclear fallout and ran it before it dropped into the sea. You're good.
If i had a beach im norfolk id call suunbegone

I think it all has to be lower case
