I watched the interview and I understand why she was upset. He said she was eager to get married and that he is indifferent. I think they’re both devoted to each other but the way it was phrased made her seem desperate or that she isn’t getting what she wants. Kudos for him for clearing it up and manning up in public saying he made a mistake.
I know this is really selfish to say, but I hope that Charlie never stops making movies.
Sometimes we said things spontaneously without thinking and most of the time it turns out to be true feelings. The way he expresses himself making the comment is the way he really feels.
I agree, but it also seems more than likely that he loves his girlfriend and seriously regrets not thinking about how his original comment would hurt her.
It wasn't "banter", but it is the sort of bad mistake that it's very easy for (mostly) honest celebrities to make - after a long 'round' of never ending nterviews.

somewhat agree to that...when couple live together long enough. Marriage could be just a visible bond and reflect your life in many ways. Regardless of the 'indifferent' term, no one knows what the future brings. I like Charlie as a man and the actor no matter what.

He said he isn't interested in the actual process of marriage, not that he doesn't love her or that he isn't invested in the relationship. Some guys (and women too) are happy with just being in a committed relationship without the marriage and wedding ritual.

I have been married for 19 yrs. A legal piece of paper doesn't make the marriage. You and your spouse do. There's no reason to get upset if you are in a strong relationship. If they've been together for that long, it's called common-law marriage or sui iris. There married. They have lived as a married couple for 14 years. Give them there respect and mind ya business... Hang on a minute! You wouldn't get upset if you'd been in a serious relationship with a guy for more than a decade, and he then tells the MEDIA that whilst he doesn't want to get married, you badly want to get married - and so he may marry to 'keep you happy'??

@@liisaks1 No. I told my husband I wouldn't marry him for the 1st 5 years of our relationship. If he felt married to me and still wanted to get married legally after 5 yrs I would do it. Marriage is more than just a legal piece of paper. I felt married in those 1st 5 years. It's up to them if they get married legally. They could have all the same romance with or without a legal document. I think that's the only thing people overlook. We spent little as possible on our marriage. Not everyone in this world needs a big fancy wedding. We as a couple just wanted each other. It's not anyone's business how or when they marry. If they decide to marry and have a wedding, it's to seal and share there love of each other with there close friends and family. Not strangers who obsess over him. I think he was just trying to answer a question truthfully without making him look like dick. He could have said next question, but who knows what it feels like to be put on the spot in a interview. Part of his getting paying movie rolls is to make his fans love him, unfortunately, some of the fans are gonna only like him for certain reasons. Which comes in the dramatic unprofessional personal questions. No answer is going to please anyone. Not even her. What's important is he is sorry and didn't mean anything by it. People say shit that pisses off there spouse all the time. My husband and I have been doing it for 19 years.... lol...

Yeahh, i feel like he said what he was feeling! I'm sure throughout the 15 years that they have been together, the topic of marriage has come up & he's told her exactly how he feels. I get why she would be mad of what he said or how he explained those feelings to a couple of strangers but, at the end of the day, she must've excepted that to be with him for so long! 🤷🏽♀️

Morgana seems like a good girl who's put up with a lot of crap, including internet trolls. I get it. It's just a piece of paper. But when my husband gave me an ultimatum and said he doesn't wanna stay with me unless we got married because he "want[s] that piece of paper," I had to choose between not getting married and losing him forever, or compromising because I couldn't live without him. So he got me to wear his ring.

I agree w everything but that last part. Couples who’ve been together for 20+ yrs have gotten married. We don’t know them. Not every woman wants marriage just to feel confined and then go thru a messy divorce ..
Marriage is a piece of paper. If both people agree they don't need it, it's literally the same thing as if they were married.
After 14/15 years the knot is already tied. You don't need to sign a paper to make sure it is.

I know many couples who are in their late 30s and early 40s who still don't have kids because it's just not their cup of tea. Many of them have nieces and nephews and they're excellent with them. Some people just don't want to bring children into this state of world i've been told. so... nothing wrong with that.

It’s crazy how bitchy people in comments sections can be, especially about relationships between two people none of us have met (or probably ever will meet).
Their relationship isn’t weird at all. I have close friends who have been together as long as Charlie and Morgana, if not longer, and also aren’t married. Their priorities are different-they met in high school but wanted to finish school, buy a house, etc rather than spend money on a wedding. They are engaged now, have been for a couple of years, but there is no wedding on the horizon. Being legally married doesn’t define a relationship.
Also, for people to blatantly assume that Charlie’s girlfriend MUST want children and therefore is desperate for him to propose is stupid. Women don’t ALL want to have children. And even if they as a couple do, they don’t have to be legally married to raise a family. It could be him that wants kids and not her, for all we know, which is absolutely nothing.
The takeaway is that it is possible to be ambivalent towards marriage as an institution but still participate in it if they both decide they want to. If they’ve been together this long, I’m sure they have the skills to compromise and understand each other that the public won’t be privy to.
