Really loved the idea of having the gauges on the passenger side for the audience. Was a nice touch.
Dicky said this was nothing more than an in between car before the Sierra was homolagated. But in actual fact he bought 2, and raced them pretty damn hard. Onya dicky your a legend
When V8’s actually sounded like V8’s 👌❤️
Thank you loved it.
Tasty rev action on downshift. Gorgeous sound. 😁😁😁
Greatest V8 sound ever the good old Cleveland!
*Windsor.
@@danesorensen1775 wait is this the mustang?
@@secretRBRman Yep, 1985. Fox-body Mustang.
Yes surely you are referring to his “83” model falcon. If we are being honest about engine notes!
If only it was a 351C - This Mustang would have been a beast!
If only they could of used a nice set of heads that are out for the 302 these days. How cool still has the ignition barrel.
Would you be able to do Allan Grices chickadee commodore too like this video? Thanks
The Foxbody Mustangs looked damned tough in any other colour than fluro green! lol If Tricky Dicky had of been sponsored by a potbelly paint company, other drivers might've had a scarier car in their rear view mirrors!
where did this footage come from? is there any more from the mustang in this race?
I'm guessing it's from the DVD. The Chevron DVDs tend to have the whole race as it was recorded, including when the TV broadcast cut to an ad break. It looks like this came from one of those ad breaks.
Berly 400 horses back then or less.
Shifting at 6k, fully on the power before the apex of corners, barely outdragging a 6 cylinder BMW... No wonder Dick looks bored.
I was surprised too. Either that is a fast BMW or a slow falcon
It was a beautiful-handling car - note that he's using third at Murray's and Hell, where the others were generally back to second. Without the wheel and oil cooler issues, the Greens-Tuf Mustang might've been in with a real chance for the win... but that's racin'...
@@jackwilson8651 It's a Mustang not a Falcon lol
@@MrSkeleton131 indeed it is
Dicky complained during the race, as he was getting blasted by the JPS 635CSi of Jim Richards going up Mountain Straight, that it would not pull a skin off a custard.
The Mustang was a disappointment in Group A spec.
Those things were horrible in Group A trim, only just quicker than a bmw in a straight line.
