I was told I had 70% theoid cancer following FNA 4 years ago.. they wanted to operate immediately and then radio active therapy. I just couldnt do it. Inhad just.lost my mom and it was covid time. I went with my gut instinct and refused surgery for now.. doctors think I'm crazy to decline as it could spread to other areas..but i know.i will never do chemo or radio active therapy so no point in doing surgery... im going with my gut instinct for now and monitoring with ultra sound so far it hasnt grown. Im thinking of the 30% that said it may not be cancer and i want to hold onto my theoid as every cell in my body depends on the throid. I am so happy to see this video 👏 👏 I feel less alone.. commented even before I listened to it 😊 so Im going to listen now.
    Gos bless everyone.

I was diagnosed of having papillary thyroid cancer jan12/24, had total thyroidectomy surgery and left neck selective dissection ..I have to be honest I wasn’t afraid or get sad.. I was scared after I was at the unit as I almost had a cardiac arrest or stroke because my calcium level went critical as nurses focus assessing my vital signs yet I was already c/o having chest pain. Numbing and tingling in my extremities. It was scary experienced so glad I was able to advocate firmly for myself.and I have a medical background!

Hi @jandlesmith it is Philip here, I asked Dr. Miyauchi is there were attributing factors as to why some thyroid nodules and cancer shrinks. He says there is nothing they have identified. On a incidental finding, I have 8 separate nodules. I have 4 labeled...TR3 (2), TR4, and one TR5 with punctate calcification. On both sides of thyroid. Measuring 8x5x9, 9x4x11, 8x5x11...and trouble swallowing. I'm guessing FNA is next. Follow-up next week.
With all varying sizes and levels, simple, mixed, and calfication, I don't feel comfortable with the wait and see if it shrinks.
I have also heard of they put radiation pill in neck to attack the cancerous nodes, can you please give all the information to that treatment. TIA

Good luck! I have nodules that have been there for nearly 15 years and I am just now having them biopsied (FNA) for the first time. My Pittsburgh doc followed me until I moved and the other Endos did the same. Until this year, they had shrunk, but now it's bigger suddenly! I have Hashimoto's and take 36 mgs tirosent, I feel fine as I am naturally hyper and thin so other than dry skin I am older) I didn't even notice them. I hope we both have good results.
