It's honestly so motivating seeing writers react to their older things, be it vlogs or writing! Especially one that's so positive towards their old self.
(Also not sure if I understood the issue correctly, but ctrl + a should highlight everything in a word document)

That's crazy, I actually remember that video of yours! It was before I started watching RUclips consistently and I have no idea how I found you but I really enjoyed that video. You were one of the reasons I started watching a lot more RUclips/authortube about a year ago!

It must be so fun to have these videos to look back on. How long is the current draft of DE, and have you determined which parts to use for book one vs. the later books? Can't wait to see your continued success!
It really is! Draft 3 of DE was 120k, not sure how long draft 4 will end up being. I have decided where the first book ends at the very least! And done a little bit of planning for books two and three. Thanks!

PS: My recent victory: The revision of chapter 3 of my novel took more than a month. That wa partly due to work, but mostly because I skipped some things in the zero draft and npw had to rewrite pretty much everything, plot the whole country and its political structure, and figure out a side character's character arc and the romance involved. It was so much work - but it was so totally worth it, and now it's solid, and I laid a good foundation for all the politics-stuff to come in the rest of the series. But that only shows how "un-quantifiable" progress can be sometimes. ;-)

I liked that video a lot, just seeing how you progress over time and wrote so many words!!! I still watch that video sometimes as it always reminds me "Progress is progress" (Which all your video does).
Also, in word, there is an option for merging files into one. You can search on youtube and do that. It will help you a lot.

I'm not even at 2,000 words in my fantasy epic. It's honestly motivating, but also a little disheartening that it will take me years to make it into a fantasy novel. How do you get past the impatience we authors can sometimes feel?
Will you be pursuing self publishing or the traditional route? I've been looking into word counts and the sources I've heard from said for first time publishers the word count should be under 125,000 max for fantasy novels or publishers won't be interested. Super excited I found your channel for help on this journey btw! 😊
Hi! I think that DE would best be suited for traditional publication but for future stories, it will depend on what I think would be the best publication route for them!
Yeah, I've heard under 100k is best for a debut but I'm just telling myself the story as best I can and then after I've done that I will see what I can do to get it to fit trad pub standards...

Thank you! But yeah, especially if you have not started to pursue publication yet, make sure the story is as good as you can get it, and then worry about what traditional publishers want!

My goal was always pages. I got to just over 300 and i thought that would be 10 hours on audible but it only ended up being 7 :/
