I just binge watched your reactions to Fringe today and became an instant sub. I'm excited to watch more and can't wait for you to get to the second half of S2 and the entirety of S3. You'll love them, guaranteed
The idea that the mind can influence the body is a fairly well established one. Just like in "The Matrix", if you're injured in the simulation, your body will process it as real. Something is definitely happening at Massive Dynamics, what that is, though, is a big question mark. I love how Walter doesn't have a filter and just says anything, the actor had to really work hard to keep a straight face all the time. In case you're curious, the guys at the end are the Irish mob. They basically run Boston.
Walther Bishop? Well, maybe you should watch LotR The return of the King again, if you wanna know why he sounds familiar! At least thats where I knew him from! :D
Also: Superman Unbound, Star Trek Prodigy, episodes of Legends of Tomorrow, The Boys, Elementary, Sleepy Hollow, Forever, The Librarians, Stargate SG1...
I could have sworn I recognized him in Fringe specifically from Dark Matters when Fringe was first airing (back in 2008), but according to the Internet, Dark Matters came out after Fringe (well aired at the same time as final seasons of Fringe). Still, I recognized him right away because he's been in so much. Maybe it was 24. Top actor imho.
The introduction events often have to do with the overall plot of the episode. In this episode it's the researcher getting exposed to the hallucinogenic drug that caused his paranoia of the meeting and butterflies to cause his wounds before throwing himself through the window. When you were grossed out by the examination scene, Walter says that the cuts were from the inside out and too clean to have been from a blade, so essentially the cuts were caused by his mind and own biological functions, and a similar thing later happened to the snitch in the hospital.
I'm enjoying these reactions. I don't really want to say anything about the show because I think it works best when you come to it with your own thoughts and ideas.
@@DakaraJayne maybe reconsider for us youtubers haha, most who watch reactions already waited weeks between episodes and months for finales and seasons. Its just a super long journey again if its weekly or bi weekly. Ive seen the show full seasons over 10 times and counting the one thing that helps continuity is the literal appreciation for the binge lol, been trying to find a reactor who does a decent job reacting to fringe as well, havent found a reactor yet who had ability to juggle fringe for the long run, lots have attempted. Not sure if its the community or culture or YT and reactors but some shows get posted way more with more frequency but other shows dont get same time...for instance one reactor wanted to watch supernatural...he would release an episode every other week but still release other shows he was reacting to with more freqency...which didnt make sense because SN is 15 seasons. I understand milking content but sometimes it can be slippery slope...we realize watching and subscribing might not be worth the time again for a reaction. Understand about variety but whats use of variety if cant finish whats started. Lol just a ramble but good luck
Billy West does several voices on Futurerama. It's not John Noble who plays the crazy mad scientist on Fringe. Maybe you're thinking 2 dimensional chess and this is 5 dimensional chess. The show is like a grapevine and each story is a grape with the bunch being a season. Makes them all connected.
wo spoilers, i will just say that first off the ending w John Scott in the hospital room offing the guy is just like the butterflies in the opening - it's the person's worst fear in their minds, causing their body to react as if it's really occurring. that's all that's happening there. now as to the bit w John in Olivia's head - that is more complicated and even many of the viewers who've seen the whole show don't understand what actually is happening and why. when Olivia did the mind meld in the tank w John Scott, she absorbed some of his memories - or so Walter thought, bc this is a normal occurrence and side effect. but she didn't actually just absorb his memories, the 'data' of his mind, she took in his conscious living mind. this is how he 'saw' her in the memory, how he took her over to send the e-mail to her from his account, led her to this or that place, helped her solve cases using his old knowledge. he is not just memories she's accessing, but a living consciousness within her mind. this is abnormal and Walter does not understand it or does not think it's possible (ie he says "John could not see you in the memory"). but it is explained, if you think about it.during the next many episodes of season 1. there is something about Olivia that enabled her to do this special thing of actually absorbing a living consciousness during that process, not just some memory data. she is unusual and her mind and its abilities are unusual. since you've likely already watched the following episodes explaining that, this should make sense to you.
you've watched the episode in your first 15 minutes. I like that. Who says around for the next 15? Thumbs down me if you watch it all. Thumbs up if you stop at 15.

Well, the guys at the end of this episode are the Boston mafia. Walter has a really nice charakter...but you'll see also his darker side :)
Well... typical Irish, dont ya think? 🤣

@@Smido83well his sleepy hollow character had an impact on me but I DID watch Fringe first

Love your reactions, but the order of the episodes on the playlist is backwards which makes it harder to watch! Just fyi
and we have the other butterfly effect!
the cold open for this episode tho..

Ever think of doing Fringe reaction twice a week? 🙂 as it progresses forward you may not want to wait aslong between episodes due to anticipation 🥴
I just made this decision on Patreon haha. I now upload twice a week over there. I can't currently do 2 on youtube but possibly in the future.

This series is J. J. Abrams at his best.
And after 5 seasons it sticks the landing.
... which is most definitely not typical of JJ Abrams.
Season 5 was a big disappointment for me. I won't go into details because of spoilers but it didn't feel like Fringe to me anymore
Still better than the Season 5 of Alias :)
Didn’t JJ give the show to Pinkner and Kinberg and they made it their baby post season 1?
Funny I think the show is classic JJ in that it collapses in his typical fashion 😂 it's a fun ride as long as your expectations aren't too high.

I saw Fringe back when it was still airing but finished it much later. So I’m watching again , don’t remember much except for major plots.
hope you enjoy the rewatch :)

Uuuh!!! "I just had an erection".
That's very weird even coming from Walter!
Sadly, they abandon this part of pete4s storyline after this episode😢
How does a throat open like that on its own? That's mind over matter. No more, no less.
