The actress who played the kidnapper did comedy for 6 years on the brilliant sitcom "Community" So interesting to see her play an evil dramatic role here.
I love how much you're loving this show and how quickly you've become attached to these amazing characters, especially Walter. I subscribed for Fringe so I haven't seen your reactions to other things, but I really enjoy these so far. And honestly if you're so hooked your only reaction is slack-jawed immersion, that's fine by me. I've seen it about five times and that's still the look on my face most of the time. It's just that good
I knew that you would warm to Olivia's character. John Noble is so brilliant in this episode as Walter. The way the man can show so many, many things on his face and in his eyes is amazing. There are so few actors that can do that. In fact, right now I can only think of one other. Watching Walter and Peter's relationship take steps forward and back while keeping the delicate balance to keep Walter working on the Fringe project is one of the best things about the show. Olivia's and Astrid's influence and cajoling plays into that balance almost like an intricate dance, not only in humoring Walter, but in calming Peter. Peter's great upset when he couldn't get Walter back out of the mental institute showed how attached he'd grown to Walter and his fear of having his dad taken away from him again. Joshua played that so well. And then Olivia apologizing, calming and comforting him shows so much about who she is as a person. She cares deeply about people. She showed it again with the boy, both when she finds him and then again as she watches him reunite with his father. I love how Broyles is with Olivia, recognizing that she is a very good agent. After such a rocky start, things are smoothing out. He's still prickly, but he's turning into a better boss. Still tough as nails, though.
It was the weird science stuff that caught my attention and drew me into the show, but the characters and their relationships that made it my all-time favorite!
@@beldin2987 Although Fringe starts out like an imitation of the X-Files "monster of the week," it goes 'way beyond anything Muldur and Scully could have ever dreamed. And yet, clues to the final season are in the very first episode.
There are a couple episodes I've been especially keen on seeing the reaction for, and this is one. A real highlight to my mind. The trauma for Walter having to go back to the institution and getting trapped there is just so heartbreaking.
Love how the Peter & Walter relationship is developed in this episode. While the plot elements of this show are great, it is the character development & relationships make the show.
Play the game: The Observer is somewhere visible in every episode usually in the background for only an instant. I agree with your preference for shows that have completed their runs, particularly when they ended successfully and satisfyingly, as Fringe does.
i just want to say this [if i haven't already in another video], thank you so much for reacting to some of my favorite shows [Firefly, Fringe, The Good Place] even if they aren't necessarily shows that will bring you a ton of views.
I never knew how to feel about Walter as a character. He's such a complex person, but he's written and acted so brilliantly that you can't help but feel for him.
The "fight choreography" in this show is FANTASTIC! It looks so real and raw. It isn't a bunch of quick karate stuff, or stuntmen standing around waiting to hit the hero with their gun. Everyone is getting beat up.
John Noble was incredible throughout the show. When it comes down to great characters in TV shows Walter is definitely in the top for me. It's a shame that Noble received an Emmy for his brilliant performance.
The music was equal to a mathematical formula that allows a person to phase through solid objects. At least that's what it looked like to me. Love the use of music that way. There is a certain school of thought that holds music to have a mathematical precision that is in some ways is superior to conventional math. Also the use of lights and sounds is an actual way to "blank" out a persons mind.
Also Iron Man 3/Agents of SHIELD/WHIH, Star Trek (DS9), Shawshank Redemption, Green Mile, Madam Secretary, Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey/Bill & Ted Face the Music, The Hot Spot, Demon Knight, Bordello of Blood, Kinsey, Mercy, Damages, Onion News Empire, Our Cartoon President, Machete Kills, The Bourne Conspiracy, Fall Out: New Vegas, Die Hard 2...
Damn... It took me nearly the entire video before recognizing that Britta was the bad one in this. And like allways she brittaed it and got killed in the end! When will she ever learn...

THANK YOU
I kept thinking she looked familiar.
She Britta'd this role..... that's right she's taking it back.

Walter is just the best. But also of course how the show evolves over time, so much stuff we never even remotly expected at this point.

Gillian Jacobs before Community! So good at being evil. You should watch that show at some point!
I was gonna say.. Brita's time in new york was insane
great episode with great moments between walter and peter ! loved that one !
It's easy to miss, but it's not actually a teleportation device. He pulled the apple through the safe, without opening it.

It’ll be big, very very big 🙌🏻🤌🏻🤍
William Sadler, the doctor, played the sheriff on the first iteration of ‘Roswell’, among many other projects.
William Sadler was also in "Bill and Ted Bogus Journey" amongst many other movies.
They said this because Dakara has seen Roswell
Also Iron Man 3/Agents of SHIELD/WHIH, Star Trek (DS9), Shawshank Redemption, Green Mile, Madam Secretary, Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey/Bill & Ted Face the Music, The Hot Spot, Demon Knight, Bordello of Blood, Kinsey, Mercy, Damages, Onion News Empire, Our Cartoon President, Machete Kills, The Bourne Conspiracy, Fall Out: New Vegas, Die Hard 2...
decades of movies and tv shows, great actor. Die Hard 2 was my first, where i saw him
Your good in theorizing... and come close a lot
Damn... It took me nearly the entire video before recognizing that Britta was the bad one in this.
And like allways she brittaed it and got killed in the end! When will she ever learn...
hey guys! like this to make her react to Twin Peaks.
Billi Eilish was ~7 years old when this episode came out
Anna Torv is the standout for me. Except from John Noble as Walter of course .
Britta's the worst...
