Charlie is a real stand-by man. He's not even read into the Fringe division, but he's always ready to respond to Liv's calls for help. The Observer was visible on the street crossing in front of the EMT truck. Many older science fiction fans got a thrill in this episode.
I'm so happy you see the 😍 in Peter's eyes too. When the show first aired I knew it as Walter did that those two kids were meant for each other. But I also knew it was too soon for Olivia to consider "seeing" Peter that way because of John Scott. She did just lose him & found out he truly DID love her. So I was there for the slow-burn. But other reactors seemed to think it came out of nowhere. They didn't see Peter as anything more than a brother figure. I never understood THAT!
I was truly surprised when Walter played the tape and Willam Bell was spoken to and Willam Bell then spoke that you made ZERO mention of him after that. I had forgotten about Bell except they mentioned him every so often. I haven't seen this show in more than 10 years but when I heard him speak I knew who he was.
Olive. And her sweet buddy, Nick (I feel so bad for him. And Olivia, of course). Given where you are at in the series now on Patreon (*shimmer*, indeed), you're fully aware of how much worse this all is than you might've thought while watching it 🥹
the wild ride has now begun. Hang on it only gets better from here. Season one finale has one of the best surprise endings ever and a whopper of an episode.
I found this show really slow for about half the first season, but those episodes are all important to the story later. Then the next seasons really flew by. It gets wonderfully weird.
Ah, yes, the slow burn of the Peter and Oliva ship. Walter does want them together because he sees how they fit and Olivia has been so kind to him and he wants his son to have something good for when Walter has to go away again. I think Walter lives in constant fear of having to go back to the mental asylum.
You're one episode away from the finale of season 1 (originally a 2 episodes event, 19 & 20) being able to see that for the 1st time it quite the experience. WITHOUT SPOLING ANYTHING, and just for context, and considering your age, it is important to remember that the season finale aired in May 12th 2009, about 7 years AFTER the 9/11/2001 terrorist attach to the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York. It is just a reference to keep in mind; without it, you might miss out on important stuff, but being aware of this doesn't spoil anything.
I know she's well past the S1 finale on Patreon, so it doesn't matter in this case. But I still feel like telling someone "hey, here's this thing about 9/11 to keep in mind" is a spoiler. It takes away from the impact because you've already let them know it will be relevant in some way.
@@ennaxor while I understand what you mean, I thought about it for long before posting it, and my reasoning was...if she doesn't remember that event, she won't understand the scene, missing out on it's very important implications, however, being that it is just a reference that is relevant only in that scene and nothing more, I am not spoiling anything that will happen, or to whom. In essence, they could have use a different detail to infer the same thing and not much would have change in the show, or the arc of the characters, the cost of not knowing for her would have been greater that the loss of knowing.
@@LeonardoG1981 I still think it's better that someone go in blind, and maybe not understand the significance in the moment, but then learn later - vs telling them it will be relevant, and lessening the shock value. Because it's supposed to be a big surprise. But this also comes down to different views of spoilers - some people (myself included) don't want to know ANYTHING if they're avoiding spoilers. Setting expectations and giving hints can still be spoilery, even if you're not giving specific details.
Kudos to the writers for a five season story arc that no other show has even come slightly close to equaling in scope or suspense.
Battlestar gallactica has a good pull

SO many great moments showing how much Peter cares for Olivia in this episode! ❤
"It makes me want to hit play on the next episode."
You are now like us. Lol

Loving your Fringe reactions, so excited to see you go through the series!
Excellent reaction to this terrific episode. Really looking forward to the end of season one.
Great reaction :)
incredible episode..
I just saw not even a second of this reaction, I just heard the singing and I'm already hyped! This episode, ooh!
Merry Christmas Jayne 🎄🎁
Merry Christmas! Dakara and best wishes to you and your family😊

Merry Christmas! Walter is definitely the best. What a character.

The true "love story" however has to be between father and son. ❤
"Why am I on edge?" Because you've seen 16 episodes already?
Merry xmas
