Yeah, the Noah subplot wasn't all that. And yeah, it would've been easy to get it done after. Have the tractor beam attract them in their way out of the Finals.
IIRC The only reason it cuts into the Battle City Finals is because the anime finally caught up to the manga, so they had to throw in a filler arc to pad the show in the meantime. It's the same reason why the Dartz and KC Cup arc showed up before the Millennium World arc.

You know the producers of an anime aren't messing around when a filler arc that interrupts the climax of a non-filler arc manages to be as good as this.
This was a decent arc, but placing it in the middle of the Battle City Finals was a huge mistake. Should have come after the Battle City Finals and Marik arc had ended and before the Dartz and Waking Dragons arc.
Serenity pissed me off in this story especially when she was duelling Nesbit i just kept facepalming when she made a wrong move and tristan how he sold her bullshit that he is an expert duellist I just kept thinking you two idiots should have stood aside and just let Duke Devlin deal with Nesbitt himself The dice game with Nesbitt made me laugh because it seemed like Duke was making the rules up as he went along
At least Serenity was the one who finished Nesbitt off. Besides, Nesbitt forced her to duel, and she was his first choice. (He seemed hellbent on taking over "the female" for some reason)
I'm 17 years old and I still watch this anime! Yami Yugi, Yugi, Joey, Duke, Noah, Serenity, Marik and Ryuo (idc how you spell his name) are mainly my favorite characters
The Noah saga is one of my favorite arcs in the entire series. Especially the 5-part duel against Noah. (Brothers in Arms Parts 1, 2, and 3, and Noah's Final Threat Parts 1 and 2.) Yugi finishes what Kaiba started by defeating Noah. "This madness is finally over, Noah."

The big 5 were a huge support as the villians and to top it off, we got to see the conclusion of Kiabias Tournament. Thank you Season 3
I think this was Yugis best season. You get to find out where Seto Kaiba and Mokuba came from and why Kaiba became such a dick, all because their rich adopting father wanted someone as a challenge to test his power.
it was one of the best seasons it was great but people insult it mostly cause it was before the finals, i say that it was a GREAT thing to have this arc in the middle of the battle city tournament, it worked the best that way
Yes, this music is absolutely as good as you remember. An absolute banger that sends shivers down your spine. You knew you were up for a good time when hearing it!
Honestly my fav season. I don't care if it's filler and it came in the middle of the finals of the Battle City arc. Loved how the whole crew dueled. Even Tea manging to win and Tristan losing. Also felt bad for Noah. Also it was great to see more of Kaiba's past
Tbh I love all the filler arcs and this one was really good. Yes it’s in between the the battle city arc but they no choice cause they had caught up to manga & couldn’t go on a break to wait for more material. When you get down to it, Yugioh Is essentially the early days of penalty games of Yami Yugi, Duelist Kingdom, Battle City, and straight to the Millenium World arc. While I love the series & the ending Takahashi wrote, I do wish he had made his manga longer and given more arcs before the Millenium World arc. This Yugioh theme version is my absolute favourite one. The Reason why is because how they changed that part the theme from 0:08-0:39. Man so good. I enjoy the original one. But man this 2nd version is just as good as the previous. Well to me anyway.
Dude I just remembered this opening after watching it on DVD 15 years ago. I'm actually blown away by how perfect this is. Especially because of the part you mentioned, it's just so gooood I can't explain it with words. This opening is so much better than the original and it's not even close. I think I replayed it about 30-40 times in an hour, I don't think I ever did that with ANY opening. Just insane how perfect this shit is.

Like many of you guys I never knew Kazuki Takahashi but like many people he made my childhood and even my adulthood people think I'm joking when I tell them yugioh has taught me so many life lessons even at 25 when I first saw zexal I just loved it and I do therapy and we've had countless sessions just talking about yugioh and how I wanted to be just like Jaden and yuma but I identify as shark or chazz even syrus I did a fitness challenge and I built a yugioh deck atk points for pushups defense points for sit ups my last challenge wasn't going well so of all things I watched zexal kites plight part 1 & 2 as well as sibling rivalry from GX and from there everything was okay and I got the strength to continue I remember going into therapy when I first started and pharaoh atem said to kaiba after he beat him in battle City he said you'll never be successful until you conquer the monsters in your heart watching the waking the dragons season even though it's filler and taking from it that nothing good comes from giving into your hatred or rage and even if you win (mai valentine) you'll still lose Thank you for the memories thank you for the life lessons thank you for the free therapy sessions you were great
Something funny about this intro: the Japanese version didn't make an intro specific to this filler arc, so all of the scenes are either from the older intros or clips from the actual season. Because of that, the Tristan you see at 0:44 is not actually Tristan, it's evil Tristan that is being controlled by the Big 5 during the duel where they summon five headed dragon. If you pause it, you'll see nightmare penguin as his deck master.
as a kid these intros were unbelievably hype
They still are.
they still hype me up to this day
I'm still a kid, whenever I watch the show the intro is something I never skip

My favorite version of the Yu-Gi-Oh theme.
Monsters that appear behind Yugi as the intro ends: Chimera The Flying Mythical Beast, Dark Magician, Buster Blader, Valkyrion The Magna Warrior and Slifer the Sky Dragon.
I owned all the original series on DVD. Where are they now, probably basement. I need to get those things.
2024 and these old school intros still go hard, whether youre an old fan or new.
What i like about this intro is the Egyptian theme musical tone
None of these openings ever get old.
