Hey Marcus if you have a combi boiler for heating & hot water, the heating is usually a sealed system hence the bladder expansion in the boiler system. The bladder can fail & causes the to drop in pressue which you have to keep topping up the system
Thanks for the advice mate! 👍 Not too late at all. We still need to seal it all up (once we have sorted any leaks) and the board isn't fixed in, so we can easily add some silicone to the cut edges.
Glad you enjoy the videos mate! 👍 Sorry to hear you suffer with depression and anxiety. You are not alone. Focus EVERY DAY on your physical health and fitness, and it will DEFO help your mental health too. You don't need to go mad. Just do SOMETHING everyday which involves pushing yourself physically. If you are already doing this then fair play to you mate! 👍👍👍 And keep it up! 💪
The boiler expansion vessel needs recharging mate . That should of been do when you had it serviced and it's often not done. That is the reason why the pressure is rising too much when the heating is running. Look on line there's plenty of tutorials about it 👌
Thanks for the advice mate! 👍 We were told to monitor the pipe outside to diagnose the expansion vessel. We havn't had a drop of water from that pipe, which we are lead to believe means the expansion vessel is fine???
No its not bud I have been a heating engineer for over thirty years trust me you need to repressurise the expansion vessel.. With a bike pump look on RUclips I'm sure you will find something on how to do it. If your struggling I will pass you me number and I will talk you through it hope this helps 👌
Def vessel you prob didn’t leave it on long enough for it to blow prv to outside pipe. Use both hands on the handles of that circular saw btw and keep your missis fingers away I was cringing 😅
Still think it's the pressure vessel mate, goin by the video you topped it up to 1.5 bar cold but after running for an hour it was up over 2 bar...when it gets to 3 as the water heats up and expands it will discharge from that pipe outside... then when it cools down you've lost pressure, it's a combi boiler the vessel is inside the boiler so I'm not sure why the engineer who serviced it wouldn't at least have checked it, pretty sure you'll have been told this already but as a plumber that was painful to watch😂
Pressure equalisation is the issue with the expansion tank. What solved it for me was not turning the heat settings all the way up. Set them to 3 quarters. We had the same issue and had the entire system checked. Every pipe. Every connection. Every rad. EVERYTHING. We even replaced an old part of the system that had a leak when it was installed and was repaired. NOTHING fixed it. Turned the system settings down from MAX and it hasn't happened since. There is also the possibility that there's an internal failure that only occurs under pressure and it slowly gets worse and worse.. A seal or valve etc.
@@marcushayesford i would check the pressure vessel for yourself, there is usually a schrader valve for pressurizing, press the middle of the valve if water comes out the bladder has failed .
Hi Marcus be careful with the mower I did the same thing a few years ago and the blade flew off and came out the bottom of the mower nearly hit me in the foot
Thanks for the advice mate! 👍 I'll get Cat to check the threaded bit stays tight. I might even take the blade of and sharpen it, and then lock-tite the threaded bit on.
the small pipe you showed on the outside wall is for the pressure relief valve of the boiler if the expansion tank is faulty the system can over pressure so when you have youre heating on watch the pressure gauge on the boiler if it goes up and over in to the red then the prv will operate you will see hot water come out of that pipe so could be a faulty PRV or expansion tank . if it is only happening when you have your heating on then that could be the problem and would account for the loss of pressure when the boiler has gone cold as it has lost water . if it was a leak on the heating system like pipe or joint ext then you would have to fill it up on a regular bases to keep the boiler working even for the hot water hopes this helps and you can under stand my rambling as im not great on the keyboard
Judging by repairs done to ester, maude and Heidi i predict these problems will be revisited for the next 2 years , maybe get clunkfab to come and weld it up.
Thanks for the advice mate! 👍 I wont be diving in to cut pipes out myself (well not without some serious RUclips studying first! 🤪) For now we'll keep our fingers crossed and see if the leak seal does anything. 👍
On the lawn mower??? The orange bit went back in the way it came out. When I took it apart a few weeks ago there were 2 nipples which locked into the metal blade BUT they had broken off the blade side of the orange bit. I was tempted to turn it around (So that I at least had 2 nipples each side) but I thought Id see if the tension from the threaded bit would be enough, and it was so happy days. 👍

Should have opened the nut at bottom or chrome radiator just above the vale you turned off not after the valve.
Probably too late now but. . . Smear clear silicone over the cut edges. This'll stop water swelling the board and you having to replace it again.
