I am sure those who are completely new to sewing machines will appreciate the time it took for you to share so much thorough instructions. So glad you love what you do!!
Just want to say how much I appreciate the detailed explanation of steps for sewing on paper. I’m in my 70’s and have been putting off sewing in my journals because I lacked confidence, but after this video I’m once again excited about sitting at my machine and giving it a go. Thank you so much!❤
Thank you, really needed this, fabulous, so many great tips. Have a cheep mini sewing machine, works surprisingly well, or an 1940 singer that’s cranky. Can’t wait to see the other crafters. 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Great info for those who are beginning to use their sewing machine. My machine has been a lifetime joy. Lots of creative things have come from it....clothes, draperies, pillows, journal covers, actual mending 🙄, etc. I would just encourage everyone to get acquainted with this great companion. Love the journals you are creating.
Thank you for sharing sewing on paper tips. I have sewn clothes on a sewing machine before but never paper. Some of the the tips are similar to sewing fabrics. The stitche length is a very good one to prevent paper from tearing
I can't believe how fun it is to sew on paper!!! I sewed an extra quilt block onto a piece of card stock to make a cover for a small journal that I've been asked to make for a quilter. I was having a hard time getting this project started but after sewing on the paper, I can't wait to work on it. Since it's going to be a rather small journal, I'm planning to machine sew the signatures. Yippee! So much fun!!!!
Thank you so much. I have never sewed before and I have a sewing machine I have never used. I think mastering these 2 basic stitches will get me going. :) teri
Thank you for your tutorial on sewing for all of us who are new to sewing in our journals! This is a great video, with a beautiful journal!! Glad you participated in this collaboration!!
Thanks yet again for another brilliant tutorial and some fabulous freebies. I am not a beginner and have sewn on paper for years, but it was still great to watch and I really enjoyed the tips you included!! Thank you so much!"
Hi, Tracie, you do such fabulous clear tutorials! I also want to say, thank you so much for your generous freebies, they’re beautiful. As usual, thanks for sharing. 😃🤗😘
I am new to journal making but I have been paper crafting for a long time. I have been sewing for over 50 years. I was concerned about sewing over glue. Your paper sewing information is the best I have seen anywhere. Thank you so much. Linda
#howtobotanical and this video are wonderful. I just got your bumper florals off Etsy and they are so lovely. Thanks for sharing your talents and techniques. Learning from you ladies this month is a wonderful springtime gift.
Really great video so well thought out and informative I love the part about troubleshooting your machine. Thank you Tracy for the freebie and for everything you put on RUclips and Facebook
Thank you! This was very helpful. I’ve sewn on fabric for years, but I am new to sewing on paper. It is a little different. I was having some trouble but you have shown me how to do it. Thank you for the freebies.
I have been using a sewing machine for the last 40 years and this is the most useful, helpful video. I've never really known how to deal with tension related niggles and tangles so your really clear tips and tricks were exactly what I needed. I'm sure there are many others among us who will feel the same way. Thank you so much! x
Well done ! Clear instructions for machine settings and BONUS 😊 “trouble shooting” for basic stitch issues too. Clear sewing techniques that anyone can easily understand. Will recommend and Share this VR for anyone new to Junk Journals. ❤️👍🏼❤️ Melbourne Australia 🙃
Tracie - Fantastic video! I used to sew a long time ago clothes but found that I have a hard time when sewing on paper. I love the look using the black thread but mine just looks bulky. I need to use the many tips you provided and do some more practicing. I think this extra step adds so much more to a journal page. This is going to be a wonderful series. I will be watching these over and over. Many thanks to all that have participated for sharing your time and talent. It is so much appreciated. Pamela A / PA
I love sewing on paper. I have a special machine set up just for paper , so to save my good one, , it was being thrown away, mind you. All it needed was a globe for the light. Some bits and bobs were still in their bags 😜 TFS sharing this video. 🙏💐I love these papers btw.
Thank you Traci for this video. Haven’t gotten the nerve yet to see but will definitely try now. This was a good slow video so I could see what you were doing.
Perfect video tutorial, I have been trying to becomes friends with my sewing machine for a while now, this gives me hopeful - Thanks Tracie for sharing - saved to my goto refernce videos 😍😍😍
Love all of this, Tracie. Everything looks so fantastic from your stitches to the splatters. I sure needed the sewing lesson I used to sew all kinds of things from little jumpers for my boys to a bean bag chair sewn with the industrial (HA!) herculon material (I broke a few needles on that project). But that was eons ago so I truly needed this. Thank you so much, Tracie.
Very good tutorial …I’ve been sewing paper for a while and I still learned a few tips. You are a fantastic teacher…the light wasn’t as much a problem as you would think…the fee kit is beautiful 🥰
How funny, I've got the same book of flowers as you i think as I have just found the same page. I got excited lol. Got my from a charity shop and only cut a couple of flowers last week. Thanks for the tips on sewing and for another great video. Xx
See? I knew it was going to be awesome! Loved your makes and I got some great sewing tips. My machine still has the needle it came with 2-3 years later😲...it may be time to change it out lol. Beautiful freebies too, thank you!💕 Rose xxx
Terrific, this will definitely give me confidence when my little hobbycraft machine arrives. It will be so helpful to keep popping back to make sure I am doing the correct movements with lining up etc. Thank you so much x
Thank you for sharing this video. I have all the elements to sew on a journal, but really wanted someone to walk me through it. This video is perfect. 💕

Hello Tracie. This is really a great tutorial. I’ve been sewing papers too and can’t really sew perfectly so your tips are very helpful. I love your journal pages too ❤️❤️❤️.
Thank you so much for this video tutorial. It’s been immensely helpful. I have been sewing paper for a few years but your guidance adds to this interest perfectly.
Thank you for the great tutorial, Tracie. I've been sewing on fabric for over 40 years, but find paper a totally different matter. Your tips will be a real help as I learn to sew on paper.
Thank you Tracie! For the video and the freebies:). This video has been fun and helpful. I now feel brave enough to zig zag😂 Really enjoying the collaboration:)

Thanks for this video it's really great for sewing tips for paper. Picked up a few things and I have been sewing on paper for a while. Love your work your such a talented crafter thankyou ❤
Thank you SO much for this video! I'm using my mother's old Singer (pretty sure it qualifies as an antique) and my sewing is abysmal. Really only fit for a junk journal. Will now go and look at the presser foot to check for grooves and will practice your techniques. Hopefully my future projects will not look like they were sewn by a three year old 😱😂❤️
Hi Tracie. i've watched your videos for a number of years and always love all you do! Now that I'm retired I have more time to play and respond to videos!. Great tips for sewing on paper! I'm glad you did a video regarding this. I've been sewing for many years...and still get good ideas from videos like yours! The only thing...I've been told by a few sewing machine dealers that the compressed air is not good to use in the bobbin case because it can compact any fibers (or papers shreds!) into the machine which can cause problems that will result in the machine needing to be serviced. Thanks for all your wonderful videos! You are a great teacher! And very creative...
Thank you :-D I think this is why my 'machine guy' said hold the can at a distance. I have had my machine serviced twice in 4 years so it has not been an issue for me :-D I guess every machine is different x
I have been wanting to add sewing to my journal pages but wasn’t sure where to start. You have given so many pointers of how to do it and I am very appreciative! Definitely going to get out my machine and do it!!! Thank you !!
