    I hate it when cards can not be responded to. People literally complain about the lack of interaction and then suggest cards that say "no interaction"

    To be fair, "recently" for Farfa is when Rescue Hamster was meta 10 years ago or something. So, take it how you will.

    i’m looking at Tripwire and all i can think is that something like Dogmatika Punishment is cooler design and more the direction we should go than protection.
    the idea of sending cards from the extra deck that’ll have another effect as cost is one way to start, but in general, traps that generate more than just 1 for 1 trades is what we need to keep up with modern decks.
    this is essentially what makes Lab work. i don’t think it’s a bandaid fix as much as it’s a matter of giving us traps that generate advantage and also work as strategies that control the board. in fact, the biggest hole in the game rn is a lack of control decks yet normal trap based decks could work this way.

    The ULTIMATE PROBLEM with new yugioh cards... Is sometimes... A SUPERPOWERFUL CARD is created and released. Then, the card reeks havoc on the yugioh community until it gets banned(which will be at least some time later). Every card has to be tested and rewritten before release so it never becomes THAT POWERFUL. The banlist is full on cards that have done damage to the community, not help it grow. People playing against these unfun and overpowered cards often quit if they have no way of fighting back. CAUTION is the rule number 1 of card development.

    TRAP CARDS are too slow to play.
    IT DEFINITELY NEEDS A MAJOR OVERHAUL
    JUST TO BE PLAYABLE (without using labrynth as a crutch)
    - can be activate from hand when you don't control any cards.
    - set itself from gy to the field when opponent summons a monster.
    - can immediately activate when targeted.
    - has "if destroyed or leaves the field" conditions.
    - weak when activated from hand but strong when it activates on the field

      there's many ways to make it strong and playable without turning it into a floodgate

      Monsters only. Also you can’t choose to destroy your own cards. Also it’s not an interruption.
      Non targeting destruction of any single card on the field is very strong.

    Fuck trap cards. How about hand trap that says "if your opponent sets more than 3 trap cards, send all traps to the grave and special summon this card
