- Today I'm hanging out with my best friend Rafa at his stereo shop and competing in the harness challenge!

OFFICIAL HARNESS CHALLENGE RULES: (revised by world record holding harness champion Doug Bernards)
- must wire together two 12 wire car stereo harnesses cannot be pre-stripped (8 speaker wires, constant, acc, ground and remote or dimmer)
- twisted, soldered and heat shrunk (parallel twist, or rat tail twist)
- tesa tape wrapped (at least 3 inches of coverage)
- tool prep allowed
- no help to start timer (press start then grab tools)

Here's the technical rules for a linemans splice (western union)
[The Western Union or Lineman splice was developed during the introduction of the telegraph to mechanically and electrically connect wires that were subject to loading stress. The wrapping pattern is designed to cause the termination to tighten as the conductors pull against each other. This type of splice is more suited to solid, rather than stranded conductors, and is fairly difficult to complete.[1]
The Western Union Splice is made by twisting two ends of a wire together counterclockwise 3/4 of a turn each, finger tight. Then, using needle-nose pliers, the ends are twisted at least five more turns, tightly. The cut off ends are pushed close to the center wire. ] (from Wikipedia)
I counted your twists.... you didn't twist at least five more turns per side with needle nose pliers... 😌😝😝
And you didn't perform 3/4 of a turn each.

Loved the challenge. Striping 2 wires at a time? Awesome. SOOO glad you are back into car audio. I watched every car audio episode you have. Not into the mechanic stuff, but love the car audio. Would love to hear your opinion/reviews on gear or maybe do an install for a viewer.

My idea for the dash kit is to have a recessed place for a head unit to fit behind the iPad and give access to the head unit with the iPad out of the docking station. just sure in a usb plug to the radio accessory and a ground of your choosing.
