I know you are a sound guy, but i like the motor swap stuff too, wish you could do more of that, i like seeing what you come up with. Keep on it man, badass stuff, good humor too.
Enjoying this complex enclosure. I always thought it would be interesting to design/build a 4th order box with an external port to put bass into the cabin in a rear engine car, like a 911. You could theoretically build a small two chamber box with an 8" or even a 6" sub (or 2 paired isobaric style) put it in the front "hood" area and just duct the bass in to the foot-well. Love to see you do something like that in the future.
Good example. The two biggest challenges (after design and build, of course) would be finding the physical space to run the port into the cabin, and port noise. I hope you guys give it a shot!
Cool beginner box Doug, you should watch some more Fab Kitchen and Meade Skeletor box videos for tips. =) P.S. A few years ago Allyn would have had this box built and installed at the old shop in one video.
A cool trick I've learned over the years installing kerf pieces use a rabbit bit the size of your wood thickness on your joining panels creating a channel to lay your kerf piece.
In this video Doug makes minimal progress while taking up half the video length to make sure we understand how pleased he is with how tight the seams are and how well it's coming together...all the while the sub dry rots. #HahaGotem #Again
the box looks great so far, i really like how you used mdf an birch wood (puns for days) lol an another plus for myself is it gives me good ideas when i put my 12's an my 10" in the back of my little truck im doing a blowthru on it too since its a reg. cab
Spaceman Rick he was, we all would sit around the fire at his place and he would tell us stories of freehand milling of speaker baskets made from petrified red oak trees and then cones made from pubic hairs from grizzly bears.
Too fucking funny! We are in the middle of two builds for the heatwave show in Austin, but we have to take a mandatory break for our daily dose of soundmanca!! Lmfao thanx for the videos
Hey brother I enjoy your show, you have helped me out a good amount with my complete install on my truck. Love the attitude, f$&k the haters. Thanks for the videos
wow you my friend are awsome the only thing that would make it better is if you didnt take 5 years to build 1 box. can't wait till 2020 to see the finished product lol.
Hey Doug, just a question. Would it have been better to use fiberglass resin to smooth out the inside of the box rather than sanding it? Just a question, don't roast me
Love the videos but a few things. Why not make the top and bottom sandwich the middle kerf makes a lot more sense that way. I have built a few kerf and double kerf boxes and have not had near the trouble you have had. Either way you do you.
Yo Doug why do you use wood glue to fill those cracks? Seams like something else would work better but I'm not the audio guy... Real Question!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Couple things you can count on in Doug's videos. Cheap never ending mom jokes, a constant none existant stream of customers, "I'm never wrong and when I am I'm not" (or something like that), and the same outdated memes. Love the show Doug, even if it takes you eons to get anything done.
Great job Doug! Can't wait to see the finished product.
soundman love the channel. one of my most favorite channels. always has me rolling! keep up the good work!
Rafa's custom kicker box is going to smoke this thing
Looks great Doug. Can't wait to see it finished next year
Absolutely EPIC! Music that starts at 6:48 brings it home!!!!
I've asked repeatedly on this vid and the others that he has used it on in the past what the song is, never get any replies....
This box is taking longer than one coming out of the fab kitchen Doug! Spending all day working on your curves!
His attitude has been me when making my box over the past couple days
Good morning everybody!!!! 🙌🙌🙌🙌😎😎😎
SoundmanCA but it's not Saturday or Sunday
SoundmanCA Can't wait to see this beast in action.
Tenoch Fabela me too
I cracked my 13.5 w7 box lid when cutting the circle how can I not crack it using a saws all lol
I know you are a sound guy, but i like the motor swap stuff too, wish you could do more of that, i like seeing what you come up with. Keep on it man, badass stuff, good humor too.
Only $9 million? Seriously, that's some nice work you are putting in. Good job.
Keep it up Doug. The best builds are always worth the effort and time.
Play some Infectious Grooves on that thing when u get done. :-)
This show is like Dragonball Z. 5 minutes of content happens in 10 episodes.
The Raybourn let's not complain when we get daily content. let's be honest we watch for Doug more than what he's building

Joshua Hall did I mention.... NO GAPS?! 😌😌😌
He also forgot that the nails make holes that are going to leak the fumes out of the box..
and ignite....
SoundmanCA lol, I guess the only gap then is in my short term memory.
Another vid 12 mins long telling you vids are shorter then rafas mom on the dance floor and he got nothing done
nicely done.damn thats alot of hard work!!
The fly at the end!😂
the box looks great so far, i really like how you used mdf an birch wood (puns for days) lol an another plus for myself is it gives me good ideas when i put my 12's an my 10" in the back of my little truck im doing a blowthru on it too since its a reg. cab
Lmao i wanna see that full video of that explorer jumping the mountain XD
12mins of video 35mins reading comments.. lmao but it doesn't matter what I did Doug. 😂👌💪💯
Dude that fly on the homie Doug's hat at the end tho, lol!!!
my friend Petes music. both you guys are my favorite channels.
looks good Doug, nice and clean!
Anybody remembers when doug had a CNC router and cnc plasma cutter?
jason reid Haha, he had to sell them to pay down his credit card bill.
jason reid are they gone or something?
CNC router is still there, can see it at 2:40 being used as a coffee table....
My great grampy-paw made this same box in 1927 in one day. We called him grampy-paw. But his only tools were an elk antler and the butt of his musket.
+Kevin Bruner 😂😂😂
AND HE WAS HAPPY TO HAVE THEM!
Kevin Bruner, ha ha, a true pioneer, since putting a back panel on a speaker box probably wasn't done till the late fourties.
Spaceman Rick he was, we all would sit around the fire at his place and he would tell us stories of freehand milling of speaker baskets made from petrified red oak trees and then cones made from pubic hairs from grizzly bears.
Kevin Bruner, and spiders made from real spiders!
Small and Thiele got nuttin on your Grampy-paw.
Too fucking funny! We are in the middle of two builds for the heatwave show in Austin, but we have to take a mandatory break for our daily dose of soundmanca!! Lmfao thanx for the videos
favorite car audio guy overall
for sure, taking forever....
doug you crack me up
that sub box is looking sick bro I have two 12 and just got pulled over for hitting to hard lol
love the show man keep it up
Doug I was watching Amplified in the eye doctor office yesterday. I had this crazy grumpy old man look at me like WTF are you watching .
you watch videos in public places without headphones?
staanjk it was the waiting room I had to sit in while my eye were being dilated .
good thing headphones dont go in your eyeballs then. dont be that guy
staanjk Bahahaha 😂
Hot Damn! Taco 🌮 Tuesday at Rafa's moms house 🏡
hurry up Dooouug !!!
i wanna see this Box bumpin in the F150... :D
I always thought that every "Can i help you?" were a joke, but with this door bell I don't know what to think .-.
RafaGmod his wife probably walks thru the door just to make it ring lol
So, Doug. If you had to build this box again, what changes would you do differently, if any i.e. design or build technique?
A Fly made a appearance at the last few seconds, walking around on his hat lol
Hey brother I enjoy your show, you have helped me out a good amount with my complete install on my truck. Love the attitude, f$&k the haters. Thanks for the videos
Can't wait to see how that beast turns out. Which amp will be running the sub?
did anyone notice the fly on his hat when he was signing off lol funniest shut ever lmfao😂😂😂😂😂😂
your box is beautifull
yes. yes I did enjoy your episode!
wow you my friend are awsome the only thing that would make it better is if you didnt take 5 years to build 1 box. can't wait till 2020 to see the finished product lol.
enough with the goddam box, get the hole saw out and lets start cuttn some holes in that Ford! 😈
just remember, it doesn't matter what you did Doug!
"....Put some nuts in my baffle" *HAA*...
I laughed way to hard and long at that.
Though the point may be moot, since it's done already, the clamping to the cart was actually good advise, I think. For the rest of us.
hahaha the fly on the hat at the end of the video
hey doug, can you click the volume normalization option when you edit your next video please?
Don't Liston to these guys, I remember my first box... you'll catch on Douglass 😂 #goteem
Cool beans!!
i can't wait
Hey Doug, just a question. Would it have been better to use fiberglass resin to smooth out the inside of the box rather than sanding it? Just a question, don't roast me
Are you planning on staining the wood black ?
When you caulk the box make sure you use some of that flex seal. I mean after all that guy sawed a boat in half.
Like + Thumbs up...what are the dimensions and volume of that box??
in today's video, two real life minutes of progress, in 12 minutes of video.
Dope shit doug
Love the videos but a few things. Why not make the top and bottom sandwich the middle kerf makes a lot more sense that way. I have built a few kerf and double kerf boxes and have not had near the trouble you have had. Either way you do you.
Its like a throwback seeing somebody STILL using the john cena meme, and the deez nuts meme..
Doug are you going to put a second top piece on with a cnc routered soundman logo?
what happened to the window you were gonna put in the box? did you decide aginst it?
looking swell
Are you gonna paint the box Doug? Or carpet it? Nice build by the way
4:21 there was a Fly on his hat.. Now you can finish enjoying your day.
Doug I need a way to hook up phone or my your iPad kit to factory Bose system with no aux it's 2005 corvette
Jun K just go to the PAC-audio.com website. It'll show u ur options
Nice
Yo Doug why do you use wood glue to fill those cracks? Seams like something else would work better but I'm not the audio guy... Real Question!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Need to know if you sell the box for a android tablet 7in or 9in.
That glue is gonna twist
so many hater's Doug just keep doing it you the shit lol love this show thanks for great tv
Doug you better buy some stock in Titebond! That glue is going to twist.
That's not Titebond... That's Rafa's mom's spittoon. Doug gives her fresh batches daily.
I need some fancy mobile solutions door panels in my ride
I learned more than 5 things cx
yo Dough, five star car stereo kicked your ass on your chalenge
I don't know what's worst, Dougs voice or work?
i thought a 6th order had a port where the sub was then another coming out into the vehicle wouldn't this be considered a 4th order?
hoonigan guys need you to roast Rob Rosa, help them out Doug. 💪
What tuning range are you going for Doug?
12 min video and all you managed to do was glue 3 pieces of wood together on a box that's gonna twist anyway. lol JK keep it up. love this show.
Couple things you can count on in Doug's videos. Cheap never ending mom jokes, a constant none existant stream of customers, "I'm never wrong and when I am I'm not" (or something like that), and the same outdated memes. Love the show Doug, even if it takes you eons to get anything done.
Dope!
Love all the videos but damn 5 star smoked you on the wire challenge.
Hey Doug what is the best paint for MDF? And what process do u recommend
Rafael Sanchez use a hi build primer first.
Bob Snow do I have to scratch the wood before or after primer? if so what grid
No need just make sure it's dust free.
"C'mon, fuckface." Oh cool, your box got a name! :D
Told ya...You should'a went to Denio's with Rafa, made Steve Meade drive and get you a Churro & a Pre-Fab Box and Fuck Off!!!🤣
Mark from car fab would have inserted some screw rivets to mount his speakers. what are you going to do Doug?
Doug...I would like to purchase some soundman explosives, can you help me???
of your gonna have a window to see inside everywhere of the box, 45 in all the corners. make the rounded corners using the router
what size sub is that box going to hold fam
11:23
That fly lmfao
Good shit!👌👌 coming out sick! .. fuck don and his cart 😂😂
Every time you move your hat, I cringe and think "fuck, that mole's gonna get caught and rip off"
thats not a mole.... it's my second brain, my outer brain.
SoundmanCA NOW I understand where all the brilliant ideas come from. Fuckin "outer brain" people.
lmfao!!!!
SoundmanCA thought it was your turd eye blind.😅
dope!
how long and what would you charge to build this box for a customer?
hopefully less then a yr...and less then 9 million
I'm guessing you don't do any type of installs etc for actual customers ? or is your business built around the iPad dash kits ?
good shit
Hey Doug when your done with that box can you make one for me? But this time... do it better. cheers
Why didn't you use fiberglass around the bends to seal and also to make stronger
SoundmanCA
Why you never reply to my comments Dug
+Nick Law no need. :)
The f150 Should hit 185db with that box 😜
