@southerncajuncharm What's interesting is that when Russell Crowe talks with an American accent, there is a quality to his voice that I also hear in Mel Gibson, probably remnants from Australia that still come through. It's hard to describe, like a throaty staccato with a slight scratch.
I remember watching this when it aired. I was obsessed with Buffy at the time and it was the biggest deal to me that SMG was hosting SNL.
Same here, especially her Tanya Harding impression.
I'm still a fan. I re watch Buffy and Angel once every year or two

The best way to watch the series is to start with Buffy, and then split things up between Buffy and Angel during season 4-7 of Buffy and seasons 1-4 of Angel. Some plots carry on between the shows. Season 5 takes place after season 7, the last season, of Buffy

This is funnier to me because this actually reminds me of Angel when they start running the evil law firm.
At first I'm thinking "How the hell did they get the set to look exactly like the seinfeld apartment?!" Then I realized "oh yeah NBC aired both SNL and Seinfeld"
Vampire Kramer comes off more as Beetlejuice to me. How strange.
Also got the Keaton vibe with a splash of Nicholson.
He wasn’t lanky enough to impersonate Kramer.

@@xxmr.edoodxx5326 your comment is almost incoherent, but I'll try to respond. Seinfeld had just ended when this sketch was made, so people were tired of hearing about it at the time. In other words, the joke was played out. Now, twenty years later, it seems funnier because Seinfeld is no longer mainstream news.

It should have been a regular bit when he was on SNL (without the vampirism) and I can't believe he didn't pull out the impression on Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.
This was during the filming of Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered. They wrote the plot of her turning into a rat to give her more time off to film this in NY.

Gellar's Elaine was more Marisa Tomei than Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and I'm actually super okay with that.

Great concept and the vampire makeup was on point. I would've enjoyed seeing that sketch in person. I definitely would've enjoyed it more than that dead-ass audience, what a bunch of pizza-faced cinder blocks.

Two of my favorite shows combined with Will Ferrell as Seinfeld.
SMG sounded exactly like Marisa Tomei from My Cousin Vinny.
Jim Breuer's Kramer impression sounds like his Jack Nicholson impression.

All of the actors were amazing. I don't know, I just feel like it fell short somewhere. There was a lot of lost potential here.

They do a dress rehearsal from 930 to 11 (or something like that) with an audience. They use the dress audience reactions to decide which sketches to keep and which ones to toss. My guess is that this sketch went over better with the dress audience.

They spent all that time building the set and getting the actors into vampire makeup for the most tepid laughter since Robert Downey Jr. and Anthony Michael Hall were on the show
SMG was the best part of the whole thing.
I could see her as Harley Quinn for Joker 2.
So Buffy actually replaced Xena, not sinefeld. but I love this.
I remember this when it came out. I was watching it with my mom and was so confused. I was only 9ish or 10 when it came out. Glad SNL released this. Now I understand it better.
