    10:17. I was having that problem, and I went through the eye-tracking calibration again, this time slowly and methodically, and my eye-tracking has improved A LOT. I think some people rush through the calibration step, or they aren't very careful about focusing on the dot, and making sure the chime is completely done before moving on, and it throws off your tracking profile. After I fixed this, my tracking is seriously good. I do still get some glitches, but I don't think this is tracking related, as much as it's system stability related, and will improve with updates.

    4:28. The low light tracking performance can be augmented with IR light sources, which the human eye doesn't see, but that the cameras do. So that's an option. And IR LED lights are SUPER cheap. Some of them are even sold with remotes, specifically to augment VR tracking, to allow you to do it in a dark room.

      Good to know, but there are expectations that I don't have to add such things.

      @@ArtIsRight It's fine if that's your expectation. I'm sure people who bought the first cars didn't expect to have to change the oil. After all, who changes a horse's oil? But sometimes things boil down to physics. It's all about the value you get out of using the AVP. If you get value out of it, you'll find way to fit it to your use cases. If you don't, then it doesn't matter anyway.

    You can set it to respond to one hand’s pinches only if you’re snacking. So eg if you’re getting chips with your right hand, turn off right hand tracking.

    Hi. I am trying to connect the SW240 monitor with Palette Master Ultimate and it shows "No supported monitor connected". What am I doing wrong? Also, no Calibration device is detected while attaching the device to the Monitor's USB.

      It all depends, for the most part, I'll say yes if you want to live on the bleeding edge, otherwise, it is a showcase of tech, a great one at that.

      @@ArtIsRight Actually, I like to watch movies a lot so the AVP is A true mobile theater, at the very least! And one can spend way more than $4000 for that, if you get the full experience. So, for me, AVP is already a win, unless it gives me headaches or something. In that case I will return it.

    Great review. I’ve watched several videos from people with accessibility issues. Apple’s placed a lot of customization features in their accessibility section. You can choose a “pointer” for more precise selection and for people with disabilities they can navigate with head, wrist and another gesture I can’t remember. You can also use touch on the windows. You just need to pull the window close or walk up to it. You can also always use a keyboard and trackpad. I think we are focusing on pass through because we believe the end goal is AR glasses. Apple could offer the best AR glasses right now. Instead, Apple has removed every feature to make AVP good while being mobile. You can walk holding only one screen. Apple has apps like Maps, Find My and the ability to make a HUD with transparent windows. They have an ecosystem with a phone, watch and earbuds to share the operating burden. We should take them at their word they believe the AVP is the future of Spatial Computing.

    I had a session at apple today to try it and I thought it was amazing, I could imagine so many uses for this, but it in the end, for the price, I don't see this getting very far.
    I didn't get a headache which I was amazed, but others are getting them and returning them. I felt the panoramic view amazing, I loved the 3D movies. I thought it was so amazing but that's not enough to pay $4500. The headaches are enough for me not to want to buy this, I later had difficulty walking.

      It is an amazing experience to get the demo. But every thing is locked. For example you can’t view your own photos unless through iCloud. I have lots of photos in Google and you can’t view them. You can’t watch movies you have downloaded, only through steaming first. I see the AVP as mostly awesome panoramas and streamed movies…

    8:02. First off, Apple seriously underrated the battery, so it's going to have EXTREMELY good wear characteristics, as you are not fully cycling the battery. Second, you can replace it super easily if you need to. That's assuming you're really using the battery all the time, and even then, it's going to be a while before you need to think about doing that. Most activities you're not moving, so you could just plug it in, and not beat up the battery by cycling it all the time..

    • @ArtIsRight
      @ArtIsRight  4 месяца назад

      I am aware of that and many Apple devices battery have good wear characteristic yet it physic/chemistry/time will always age these.

      @@ArtIsRight Other Apple products don't ship with a 20% reserve. Other Apple products require you to disassemble the product to replace the battery. Yes, time will eventually age the battery, and depending on how you treat it, that could be well after the product's useful lifespan. I've managed to maintain almost perfect battery life on all of my devices, some almost a decade out (before decommissioning the gear), but I don't deep cycle my batteries, and I certainly don't do that on the daily. But even if you do deep cycle your AVP battery, Apple has engineered it to protect it from the worse of that, keeping you out of the bottom 20%. And if you manage to wreck the battery in five years, you can buy a replacement, and that battery will only be $40 a year, assuming you actually buy it from Apple at that point.

      For the problem of eating something like chips and inadvertently clicking things, I have heard that people turn on the accessibility setting that lets you pick only one hand to recognize the pinch gesture, so that they can eat with the other hand. Drinking is a whole other thing. I have started using my travel/outdoor hydration bottle that has a little spout that flips up, attached to a straw inside. That way the bottle does not need to be tipped up when you drink, which clinks on the AVP screen. A side benefit is these don’t spill if you accidentally knock them over doing something immersive. Thanks for this video; I enjoyed it, as I do your other videos.
