Ride Behind D&SNGRR K28 Doubleheader part I

In this video, we see action in Durango yard as D&SNGRR K37 493 substitutes for the diesels on the early morning train. Then, we get a ride behind Durango & Silverton Railroad K28's 473 and 476 from Durango to Rockwood, then the front helper is cut out and run separately ahead of the lone K28 with consist heading downgrade to Tank Creek water tank. Longstanding D&RGW rules dictate that consists heading on long downgrade stretches must have only one locomotive on the head-end and no helpers (due to a historical incident from the early-50's). At tank creek, the helper is reunited with the consist and the doubleheader proceeds to Silverton. Huge thank you to the D&SNGRR crew and friends for giving me such a special experience.
