Santa Fe Fairbanks Morse H12-044 560 makes its restoration debut with a crisp Zebra Stripe paint job. ATSF FP45 108 provided back-up power and was pulled dead-in-tow for most of the day. Was a treat to see an FM opposed-piston engine powered locomotive run for the first time in a while despite the rain.

Durango & Silverton coal-fired K36 481 heads out of Durango and tackles the grade past Hermosa. Unfortunately, one of the passenger cars develops a serious mechanical problem towards the front of the consist and the train is forced to back down from Pinkerton Siding back to Hermosa. So for my birthday this year I figured I'd get the Southern Pacific Black Widow version of the new USA Trains g-scale F7ABA. Really impressed with how smooth these units are as well as the crisp paint job. The long mixed freight is all my miscellaneous cars that I've been converting to metal wheels. Filmed on my private garden railroad, the Southern California Western Railroad. Seems only fitti...

After several days of wiring and trackwork, the Southern California Western Railroad now has two mainlines operable with independent power supplies to each. Since my garden railroad is a figure-8 loop with a quadruple diamond, great care and focus has to be ensured during multi-consist operation sessions for proper traffic flow across the junction so that no broadside collisions occur. Running my Bachmann g-scale Santa Fe C44-9W and USA Trains Santa Fe SD40-2 hauling a mixed freight consist. Nearly every single car in the consist has recently been converted over to metal wheels and hook/loop couplers as part of a big project of mine this weekend. Reviewing the New Bachmann G-Scale Dash 9

My product review of the new Bachmann G-scale GE C44-9W in Santa Fe lettering. These were originally produced by Aristocraft up until 2013 when they went out of business. Bachmann bought up all their tooling a few years back and has since re-released a lot of their old products including the g-scale dash 9. A very well detailed and impressive unit!

Crane :>
Does that 4-10-2 actually have 3 working cylinders?
was that a gs4 or a gs5 in the beginning?
There HAS to be a train video game where you're linking up routes and shipping stuff around, but it's all in a big park with toy trains, and dudes are riding the trains around like in this video.
One day I'll build one of those steam locomotives.
A worthy goal - may it happen!
Love what appears to be a dual Mars light between the number boards. It's June 2024 and MTH is due to release the 108 in O gauge any day now.
The guy in the audience said it best ... Wow! Wow! Wow!
歐美的大玩具,台灣人沒得玩也玩不起。
I think the guy with the crane had the most fun
I love the crane... some very nice looking locos there and lots of people having good fun.
Holy crap that’s Awsome!!! How far apart are your track power leads? I have a big outdoor loop and wondering what’s a good distance for track power wires apart
The Prince Kuhio w Hawaiian flag seems out of place - but awesome!
Love the Shay!
Awesome crane in that scale!
I was there year ago
Het blijven jongens. Bijzonder leuke hobby !
Great stuff, . . . .
Is that "William Land Park"?
Hagan community park
I'd damn near give almost anything to buy that SP GS-1, numer 4403. That's just Chap my buddy's ass!! I doubt it, but think he'd ever sell it maybe?
Is that GS-4 or GS-5 Daylight?
GS-4 black edition
1:23 Oh yes my favorite Railroad, The JACKASS AND WESTERN.
I think that was an actual railroad
@@F40M07 It’s obviously not a real railroad because that’s a dumb fucking name.
@@F40M07???idk what your talking about
If I recall, it was real to an extent. There was/is a locomotive with that road name at the Nevada Southern Railroad Museum, but it was supposedly a joke name spawned by the operators. I honestly forgot a lot of the story, so if this doesn't sound right, feel free to correct me.
@@TAC2900Robloxyes the JA&W there was a town called jackass and they used this train to named it Jackass and western
Awesome crane model! Love the Daylight as well ❤❤
Yeah that crane is just incredible. That is a job well done.
I would do anything for the crane model lol
Great video brother!
Is this still available?
Yes, it is🎉😊
Thanks a lot for sharing this beautiful video - greetings from Germany
Prototypical sound as per the real one?
Did they fix the red backup lights on the front always being on?
Nice!! 🚂
Am I the only to notice the D&SNG’s severe lack of 5 chimes recently. Up until 2019, they’d be heard year round, but after 2019 it’s been only 3 and 6 chimes in Spring, Summer, and Fall. The only time 5 chimes could be heard was in winter (on 481 for the past 2 years) for some reason. Anybody know why this is?
We wore them all out
@@DeathValleyLumberCompany Dang that sucks...well at least D&SNG still has whistles!
@@DeathValleyLumberCompany I’m also guessing that’s why 486’s whistle sounds so off. You guys ever gonna have them fixed?

WHATS THE NUMBERS OF YOUR ABA UNITS?

Hey Alex! Just found your channel. How'd you get into model engines like this? Also, what's the story behind the Hawaiian flags? I've lived in Hawaii for the last few years and I love reading about the OR&L company. Love the content!
I've been into the live steam hobby for about 17 years now - got interested in it by visiting live steam tracks from a very young age as a public passenger. This engine is freelance Hawaiian narrow gauge, specifically the Ahukini Terminal and Railway Co. which was a 30" gauge operation on the eastern shores of Kauai. I've spent a lot of time there on the islands in the last few years for work projects and Hawaiian narrow gauge has always intrigued me.
Alex, great to meet you at the MLS meet! You brought some fun equipment!
Casey Jones style wood burners😉
Wait a minute blippi got into this train in his video
I for one will never go back if they are burning oil, I can watch my shop heater do that. They need to worry more about being authentic and less about making the hippies in Colorado happy.
What size curve tracks i need to make a 10 foot diameter turn im super new to the hobby went bought 2 of these monsters the 625 and 635 and i put them up going around the room in the ceiling and so far the test runs have been a disaster they keep derailing thank god i put up guard rails
I would recommend USA Trains R81700 which is 10 ft diameter or 5 foot radius curved track. The Bachmann Dash-9's don't like running on curves smaller than that and will derail otherwise.
I’ve been hearing she’s also going in for a conversion to oil soon. So catch her while she still burns good ol’ coal!
That diamond crossing sounds so good.
All the last few times I went to Colorado, the 481 was in boiler rebuild (Augusts of 2003 and 2015). I really hope to see it run sometime. I might go to Colorado this summer.
It won’t be running here for at least 2 years
Love the locomotive power and perfect lighting on the night shots
Amazing ! 👍👍👍
Love this beautiful locomotive. I run these on 8’s and 10 curve. Never have a problem. Thanks for the video.
Awesome Railfan video, sub to your channel railfan brother from the USA 👍👍👍👍👍🚂
this was very relaxing to have on while im at work, thanks for the video. I appreciate the hard work it took to build this too
Thanks for the video. Just got convinced to purchase this Warbonnet over the BNSF.
Great video (and railroad). I especially like the SP GP-7/9 custom painted "pumpkin", which a lot of people do not know anything about. Great trains with all the 50-footers, very sharp. Good mix of equipment too. Compliments, . . . .
Thank you! I'm very proud of my Halloween Geep - it's the only one that I know of in g-scale and matches the 1957-1963 era that I model on my layout.
