Love the idea of a double page spread with several things on it instead of just one building. Definitely tells more of the story of the area.

Nice spread, Taria! (You forgot to add a link to your new fountain pen, though. I’m curious, is it a Hondian?)

Hi, Taria! I really liked your two-page spread, capturing the essence of your day! Many thanks to Duncan for all the filming so that we could see the context and you 'in situ'.
A few by-the-ways: one tip, the rest, curiosity.
In the intro, all the car number plates were clear - including yours. It's wiser, wherever we are, to blur out things like that, just as we'd block out our address or clear images of the outside of our house, or scan codes on things like Amazon labels, travel documents like plane tickets, boarding passes, etc. (there are quite a few YT videos on these topics, and yet so often, I've seen ArtTubers carefully blocking out their addresses on parcels and yet showing these other things in their videos, because they just don't realise the amount of information available through them.
The fever tree - of course I had to look it up!!! It's an amazing tree! If we put Fascinating Africa and Fever Tree into google, the item I found will come up.
The Urban Sketchers Group: Everyone in the photo is pale-skinned...
The reminder that parts of Johannesburg (as with any large city worldwide, I think) has areas that are unsafe. I think this is really useful, especially in places where there are a lot of independent travellers, eg back-packers, who might not be aware / have anyone to tell them these things.

Love the combo history and sketching tour. Did I miss the fude pen link? I agree, the Sailor is quite a long pen. I like the idea of sketching the main idea or feel of a place thru smaller snippets of what you see instead of trying to get all of everything or trying to choose just one thing. A lesson I hope to carry with me to NZ and Australia this spring.

This is really cool! I love the way you combined a few different landmarks into the sketch. This is making me want to try going to a meetup like this!

Enjoyed your video! Do you mind telling us the name of the pen you said you were liking?

I'm sorry it's such a dangerous city. I didn't know it was. Loved the sketches as usual!

I really liked your sketch with all the different elements and learning a bit about Johannesburg was very interesting. Funny for me to hear that it's really hot as I am writing from Toronto and it's snowing like mad and definitely winter. Meh.

Your expectations of the new paper probably kept you from enjoying how well this turned out. I actually felt tense when I imagined how you would sketch that complex minehead. Interesting to see how you simplified it. (I thought those were "real" impalas, lol.) I'm interested in the fude link too. I only used the Sailor a couple of ties.
