  • Hi everyone, today I'm sharing with you my afternoon coffee time at Nemesis Coffee in Gastown Vancouver. I sketched my cup of coffee and pastry, then the panoramic view outside the window. Please watch the video until the end for lots of tips and inspirations on how to draw with ink pens and paint watercolors on location.
    🎨 Materials I used:
    - Winsor Newton 0.8mm fine liner pen
    - Etchr watercolors (24 half pans)
    - Speedball Handbook watercolor journal
    - Holbein Water Brush (large tip)
    - Deserres water brush (Small tip)
🎨 I'm teaching online classes every week. Check them out in my Ko-Fi Shop:

Lots of detail on the buildings... beautiful work!

Becky this urban sketch spread is particularly delightful. I just love how you simplify your line work. I still get to caught up in the details and things are still a bit wonky with perspective at times but I'm learning. Thank you for all you do to help others learn this beautiful way of sketching. Your work is awesome ❤

I went and bought myself a new pen and went out to lunch to draw scenes from real life because I was inspired by your work. Thank you for making content, it brightens my days a whole lot! <3

I am always amazed at how you can get so much information into one sketch, without your subjects running into each other. The ladies in the foreground are in the coffee shop, but it’s clear they are on a different plane and separate from the buildings behind them. I don’t think that is easy to do! Thank you, Becky!

Constantly in awe of your talent, Becky! The boldness of your colours is always an inspiration to me as my tendancy is to be very wishy-washy with my tones.

It seems you use a water brush exclusively. Do you also use standard brushes too? Also, do you ever dip the water brushes to clean them more or just squeeze and wipe them, I'm always worried about contaminating my yellows.
