- Hi everyone, today I'm sharing with you my afternoon coffee time at JJ Bean Coffee on Commercial Drive in Vancouver. I sketched my cup of coffee and pastry, then the ordinary view outside the window. Please watch the video until the end for lots of tips and inspirations on how to draw with ink pens and paint watercolors on location.
🎨 Materials I used:
- Winsor Newton 0.8mm fine liner pen
- Etchr watercolors (24 half pans)
- Speedball Handbook watercolor journal
- Holbein Water Brush (large tip)
- Deserres water brush (Small tip)

Hi Becky. Today I did a cafe sketch in your style. I sketched my coffee in the front and a scene in the back, the interior with a view of the outside through large windows. As I was finishing up the clear, blue sky and autumn trees, I could hear a group that had so much laughter. It was such a special memory that I documented….. because as I sketched a colorful scene with lots of laughter, it was days before I would celebrate my first Thanksgiving without my mom. That is what I will always remember. Thanks for the idea and inspiration. 😌

Do you use only the water in your paint brush? ♥️🍀🌸
yes, the water in the brush can be pushed down to clean brush tip, mix and dilute colors, so no need for a separate water container. :)
