    My IPR was not painful at all, but it was unpleasant. The noise is scary and just the thought of the Orthodonist shaving off your precious enamel is off putting to say the least. I however completely trust my Orthodonist who is also a dental surgeon, and honestly it was fine. I have another IPR in a few weeks time, but I feel more relaxed about it as I know what to expect now. Just focus on the end result, it will be worth it. 😁

    I am really curious as to why an orthodontist would tell you that you were in eligible for braces, that’s really strange considering your teeth were not straight..

    • @OnlyXAlicia
      @OnlyXAlicia 3 месяца назад +3

      I believe it’s because braces on the NHS are for health reasons and not necessarily cosmetic reasons.
      For example: your teeth might look straight enough as a teen but if they’re in the incorrect place and affect your bite / jaw alignment then you will be eligible for braces because it affects your overall health! But on the flip side your teeth may look more crooked compared to others but if it doesn’t affect you in anyway (other than cosmetically) then you won’t be eligible.
      My teeth have always been more crooked and my brothers teeth seemed more straight but he had to have braces and I didn’t. He had some hidden teeth that hadn’t grown in as his teeth were too overcrowded and grew in the wrong areas. Some of his teeth needed to be removed so the new ones could grow in and braces were placed to fix the placement.
      I hope this helped :)
