I'm still playing my old Wilson Fat Shafts (had them about 17 years). I just bought a SIM 2 Max OS set 4-PW after a fitting. I'm a 18 handicap and looking forward to having these help my handicap go down!
Sophie is fast becoming my favorite club reviewer. I have the OS version but my wedges are more traditional so close to the green I wouldn't use them. Unfortunately with my age (54) and my back injuries I have had to give up blades. Hitting an 8 iron 120 yards just doesn't cut it anymore. I get 140 with the Sim2 OS and the spin rate, while not as good as my old forged clubs, isn't that bad. I guess I had to go with the old Clint Eastwood saying, 'A man has to know his limitations.'
Great review, Sophie! I tried the previous Sim Max OS irons for a couple of rounds. They performed well. But man, that thing on the back made them a real pain in the hoop to clean.
I'm thinking about the OS especially since I hit to the right and need the distance and forgiveness. I'll take your advice and get fitted Sophie. A little disappointing about the wedges and will watch that part of the video again. These irons definitely seem to have my name on them. Thanks for all you do!

Having just seen this video, very impressed with the presentation in this Period Of Instruction, as well as enjoyed the candidness and ability to be straight-forward while coming across totally understandable. I'll be trading in clubs I havent used 14 years(TM Tour Burners 2005) trying to re-enter playing for the OS Model 2021. LOVE the channel name Golfalot. 😎
Went with the Sim2 OS set through PW...def gap with my old 50 and 55dgr wedges...considering blending the set with the AW and SW from the reg Sim2 Max..
Great review thank you for the content. With the Max shafts being so lightweight, did you find they played true to flex? My 6 iron is only slightly longer and would have picked stiff flex simply based on weight.
I got fitted with these last month. I ended up in the kbs max mt85. It feels.... phenomenal swinging. Im not sure what my stock random ass Stratas specs are shaft wise though. I had no issues with flex. my swing speed is within a mile per hour or two of hers. For what its worth... I hit the max os LAST, and had the highest ball speed, distance, and stats of every club I hit during my fitting. bonus points... I had hit a small ball at the driving range before my fitting. So i had hit 96 balls ALONE during my fitting. multiple rounds of 6 hits per club. I hit probably uh 30 balls in a small bucket beforehand? I hit the simOS the best at the VERY end of my fitting post 120 balls hit. I had the highest ball speed, distance, etc. launch and spin were still very good. If I were fresh? Im kind of scared what I could do with them.... if they ever ship that is sigh. it worked for me
Great review. Got myself booked in on a Taylormade demo day 31 March. Current clubs are the Taylormade mcgb irons, looking for better feel and probably a shift to graphite for age (66) related wrist problems. Have you reviewed the Sim2 max fairways as I use 7 and 9 wood M6s due to every hybrid I have ever tried goes left.
Not a silly question. I’m using the standard men’s length with regular shaft. I play my irons a degree flat. I will be reviewing the TM women’s clubs as soon as I can get back to work safely
Nice review. TM SIM 2 MAX OS #4 iron is very interesting. Its loft is 18 degree. It is a very good alternative for hybrid replacement. I'm looking forward whether you will do comparison test on TM SIM2 MAX OS especially its #4 iron against other competitors which have same loft (18 degree), such as Callaway MAVRIK #4 iron, and Wilson D9 #4 iron
Do the new sim2 irons scuff up as bad as last years sim 2 irons? I was going to buy them last year but my friends set looked scuffed after only a few rounds.
Never had forged blades. So I don't feel I am missing out. You have to have something that suits you. You buy clothes that fit you. It's definitely the same with clubs. If I was good enough to make blades work....I wouldn't be going to work on Monday. I would be making something in the golf industry my job. Oh how good would that be. Something in golf as your job. I hope you enjoy it.
They both claim to be really long but I felt the TM were significantly longer, the ping were a good club less. I’d put the ping as less of a high handicapper club, it’s more of an all round iron.
I think TM should do away with the name Max. Especially in the iron range. . It’s confusing. I’m an avid golfer and I follow the market closely but I thought the Max was a SGI club due to it’s name. Therefore I never considered even looking at it. I didn’t realize it actually replaced the M5. Anyway, my 2 cents worth is to drop the Max in the iron range and just have the SIM 2 and the SIM 2OS. Actually, on second thought, it should be the SIM2 and the SIM2 Max !!! That would make more sense. I digress! Great video and it helped me have a better understanding of the line up.
Thanks Matt, hope I managed to explain the difference. Max seems to be the go to word for a lot of the manufacturers these past few years Maximum distance, maximum forgiveness, maximum speed they’re aiming to achieve
The issue is that 90% of your videos are made with 5 brands : TaylorMade, Callaway, Titleist, Cobra, Ping. They have a huge marketing budget, send their new products to the youtubers at the same time and they all advertise free. How can the other brand existe and be chosen by customers ? And I'm not an exception to the rule : I recently changed my Mizuno driver and Sterling iron series for a Callaway driver and Ping irons....

I really love your tempo and the way you use the ground for leverage in your swing. Nice review. You're very articulate and knowledgable, obviously.

Great review, Sophie! I tried the previous Sim Max OS irons for a couple of rounds. They performed well. But man, that thing on the back made them a real pain in the hoop to clean.
I think that was one of the drawbacks of the old models definitely. The new SIM irons look much smarter to me.

Thanks Seve - great name! Really glad you liked the video - please make sure you SUBSCRIBE to our channel to see more reviews in the future.
Very nice thank you. Our swing speeds are similar. The 80 yard shot was brilliant info and makes me lean away from the OS. Brilliant practical review.

Great review. I am surprised that your ball speed with the 6 iron did not equal more distance.
Thanks Rick - glad you enjoyed the review!
will you be review the cobra rad driver hybrids and irons.
You can read all reviews on Cobra clubs by Golfalot.com: www.golfalot.com/equipment-reviews/cobra-king-radspeed-drivers-review-4725.aspx
.. Nailed those 4 irons Sophie 👍
I was happy with the outcomes given the conditions on the days of testing Mike! The forgiveness of the irons definitely helped though...

Hi Mel, great to hear from you and thanks for the nice comments. You can see all of my other reviews via Golfalot: www.golfalot.com/
Do you prefer the ping g425 over these?
Sim 2s > ping
Very tough to call - the G425 feel better but don't go as far. Depends what you're looking for
For OS, can you describe the "offset" you mentioned? Does that mean it will help keep balls to center and left on fairways?
It will help to do so yes. There is a lot of offset on the OS irons.
Silly question. Are you using ladies clubs or standard??
Not a silly question. I’m using the standard men’s length with regular shaft. I play my irons a degree flat.
I will be reviewing the TM women’s clubs as soon as I can get back to work safely

I am thinking two 5 irons, one from each set gives a better/easier four iron to hit.
Do the new sim2 irons scuff up as bad as last years sim 2 irons? I was going to buy them last year but my friends set looked scuffed after only a few rounds.
Who cares if they looked scuff?
Scuffed? So? I’m looking at my scorecard not the look of my SIM 2 Max and it’s much lower than my Mizunos

Totally agree Colin! We do enjoy making the reviews big time - and you should definitely get what's right for you!
sim2 max or ping G425?
Think I prefer the new Ping G425's. Which would you say were your favourites?
They both claim to be really long but I felt the TM were significantly longer, the ping were a good club less. I’d put the ping as less of a high handicapper club, it’s more of an all round iron.
@@sophiewalker2542 Awesome! Thanks very much.
Based on looks alone G425 hands down and with standard, power loft spec , retro loft spec more options!
@@sophiewalker2542 These lofts are so jacked up it should be a crime to use the term 7iron when describing them! IMHO Bordering on fraud :) LOL

Sub70 for instance, Honma, ur brand Miura, NewLevel, Ben Hogan, Fourteen Golf.... even PXG's new 0211only 1 decent review on UT.
You’re right. Those lofts are so strong that when u get to within 120yards, then what? Carry 4 wedges?
The number on the bottom doesn't mean anything really, probably better to compare loft to loft.
Always check the lofts when buying irons and compare them to your own.
☕️
Great review. Not for me though. 🏌️♂️
Thanks for great feedback. Please make sure you SUBSCRIBE to our channel to see more reviews in the future.
Yeah.... but his 7 iron is actually a 5 iron
Irons are becoming silly. Soon you will have 6 irons that have a total difference of 30 yards!
I agree it’s getting ridiculous with these hybrids and utility irons , just play the game and have fun…..
Heidious.... just saying
If you don't reveal the lofts, the review sucks.
Ugly and the lofts are ridiculous!
