It’s yours. You dealt with the wife. We all know who the boss is.
Good point
Exactly !
Haha, not wrong. I could never pull the trigger without talking it over with my wife first.
@@randallhill9167 It has been said that if car salesman only had to deal with men they would be wealthy. Women are a harder nut to crack.
That Hangry Joe's looks good.
Salute Erick
Love your real life behind the scenes dealership life experiences; very nice that you follow up with the customer no matter who originated sale.
Thanks for watching
You follow up!
Written down? That is not a deal. You can go ahead and put this deal together Crazy Ed needs to follow up on his customers questions , concerns or to push the sale through. Crazy Ed missied the boat on this one.
he left bread on the table...eat it!!!
I'll stick to gas engine cars. Good video Dave. 👍
In my opinion the Equinox sale should be yours but I agree with you that sometimes to make peace sometimes you have to eat a little crow.
You are about to be the middle man out my young brother!
Not at our store. I logged into the system, visit notes under my name.. 50% minimum no matter who sells it.
I think if 2 sales professionals deal with the same household regardless of times - It should be an even split, this way it motives same outcome across the board...
Twitter is a lot better now. Like it VERY MUCH for business applications 💯💯. Congratulations 🎉 on joining.
From one car salesman to another, if they came in and asked for him even if you write it up I believe he is still entitled to half the deal! If they came in and didn’t ask for him then he would have no say in the deal, then the whole thing is yours. Just how we do things at my dealership
I would suggest the person the client asks for.
Ern salute
The reason it’s showing complete is because they limited the battery charge percentage in the settings…probably to 30%
I think this situation definitely calls for a crazy Eddie cam segment on tomorrow’s video so we can hear what he has to say about it! Lol
That would be great!
Dave my dad died after a short illness. We buried him 2 days ago. I have been enjoying watching your videos to allow my mind to relax. Please remember when you feel discouraged about making a video or editing it people on the other side of the camera maybe dealing with things like I am or loneliness etc. So thanks again and I look forward to future videos.
Go pro sucks in low light, i use a gp 7,9,and just started using an 11 for our other channel. Our iPhone 12 and 13 are much better in low light even in selfie mode for vlogging. Larry
Whoever put in the higher % of effort to make the sale should get the majority of sale credit and a minor credit goes to the other salesman.
If you do not sell the vehicle today or at a minimum take a deposit the customer goes back to the original salesperson. but because the original salesperson did not log the customer into the system by rights you do not have to turn the deal back over to him. As a working together common courtesy you such both be willing to split the deal based on what has transpired and determine who has the best repour with the customer or who would have the best chance of making the sale and find another customer. My two cents....lol
Dave, might I suggest LinkedIn as well. While it doesn’t have the most users. It by far has larger engagement when you post. Also you can use something like Tweetdeck to make one post. Tweetdeck will post to all your socials at the same time.
Thanks, I'll take a look into it
Let Ed finish the sale tomorrow and the two of you split the commission 50 /50.
Happy wife happy life.
100% the wife
50-50 split
Hey Dave - the wife bought a 2023 Bolt this afternoon at Zimbrick Chevy in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin about 3 hours ago. Your info made it possible. Wish Jersey was closer. Keep up the good work.
That's Awesome! Glad I was of help. Enjoy your new Bolt!!
If you spent time with the customer you handle it tomorow. They have already built a relationship with you. Slide Ed a bill and thank him for the tee up
Thank you so much for showing us the Bolt that had an issue. Truly honest and think that most would not tell us this information about one coming in that needs an update. Glad it was a simple fix.
If that Premier Equinox had the 2.0 Liter turbo engine, definitely worth serious thought. Shame GM took that engine away. Subscribed to Facebook as well.
I would split it with him they asked for Eddie when they came in
I request a desk tour!
Here you are ruclips.net/video/6-kcHEuZ0LI/видео.html
Man when I ordered my 22 F350 I had to tell the sales guy that my order was pulled. You are a great sales guy Dave B!!
Only a month to from ordering to being pulled? I ordered a Ford Maverick Hybrid on September 16, and don't expect it to be "pulled" until next summer. As of today, it has been around 90 days since I ordered it.
Only correct answer is the deal is yours
what name is the car going to be registered under ...... that would be the tie breaker on who gets the deal
Eddie gets a half deal
How can a prospective buyer feel warm and fussy about a vehicle labeled "Certified"?
Always love watching the videos of the vehicles and the Chevy and when I saw the suburban that is amazing
Ed should follow up next day. Big thing is she made the point of asking for him. At my dealer all bets are off at that point. Since ed wasn’t there, you put her on the test drive. Typically I would consider that a favor and from that point on, unless she came back and wanted to buy it that second it’s Ed’s deal.
But it wasn't a deal yet, just a set appointment with no guarantee of a sale. Once a salesperson spends the time "selling" the vehicle in person why would the client shift back to the person who just set an appointment (and didn't input the appointment into our CRM which is part of our responsibilities as a salesperson)
Awesome thanks for the update.
in my opinion, you're the lead on that deal now. Customers get confused with multiple sales people
I agree. I also believe the sales people need to work together behind the scenes to avoid an awkward experience for the client. So if the clients came back in and went to Ed, I'd back off... If they come to me, he should back off. We split it in the end.
@@DaveBsellsChevy I agree. In the case I described in my comment, the salesperson who was off for the day asked his colleague to step in, I found the follow-up a little confusing because I called the original salesperson and then the second salesperson called me back. At that point, I didn't know who my salesperson was or who to ask for in the future. Dave, could you answer a question - if I'm not happy with the salesperson I have been working with, mainly because he does not return my phone calls, can I ask to work with a different salesperson at that dealership - and would the sales manager be the person I discuss this with? I don't want to end up being told I must deal with my original salesperson and have him be upset with me because I requested a change. There is another salesperson at a dealership about 30 miles away who has been fantastic about calling me back, but that dealership is still adding significant market adjustments to their Bolts, and I refuse to pay that.
If someone changes their order after a GM price increase since placing their order, do they lose price protection? Was wondering if the original order got cancelled and the new order with changes got submitted as new reflecting the increased price.
LL Bean jacket. The man has taste! The flagship store is a 20 minute drive from my home in Maine.
We just purchased a plug in hybrid and are already loving driving MOSTLY on all electric so far. We found one of the good dealers, similar to yours. Thanks for all the videos and info!
3:39 did you go to the energy settings / charge options and check to see what the target charge level is set to? If it’s set to 40% then the car has stopped charging and is reporting “Charge Complete” as expected since it’s battery is now at 40%
This is a very good point.. not sure and it would be the first bolt to arrive from the factory with a target level set. I'm pretty certain the service dept didnt check that so if a target level was set the program update would have reset it i guess.
Crazy Eddie should get 25%
If someone lives in an apartment complex and they are close to your dealership, can they purchase an EV and charge it anytime at your dealership?
50/50
10% finder fee to him. He still got her to come in for a test ride.
I ordered a bolt ev from your dealership about 2 months ago! So excited to see it in the new year! 🎉
Yeah it'll take 2 months to charge as well
Do you follow up when the car has been sitting for a while rather at port , in a train,, etc ? I am somewhat annoyed by my dealer , in my opinion , he sucks at communication. I reserved a car 3/12 months ago and I called him 2 times during that time for an update ( I try not to hound him) , he has not once reached out to me for any kind of update, even if there is no news it would be nice for him to at least call and say that.
I too am at fault for not updating even when there is no news.. I need to start doing that more.
I loved this real life example of how things work Dave! If it turns into a sale, I think you should get the deal because you spent the most time on it!
You have 43 Bolt orders and I think I heard you say that the order being accepted was a month old. That's pretty quick. Was it a Premier. Thx for the great videos.
No, it was an LT... The last 15 or so allocations were all LT's. Premiers have been on constraint... Most of the 43 are Premiers
When I was an estimator in the collision industry that was the number one complaint, not keeping the customer informed. Insurance companies tracked it as part of the CSI process. I had quite a few 5 stars, but there were people who complained that they weren’t kept informed on a one day repair that was completed on time. I myself hesitate to give 5 stars as I would like to think about the questions and give an honest answer. Unfortunately that is not what the world wants. Give 5 stars or don’t participate in the survey.
Crazy how much your channel is growing! i subscribed before 10k im pretty sure now you got 20k
Hopefully it keeps growing!! I want that 100k plaque
You did most of if not all of the work in the potential sale of the vehicle. No brainer, you are the one that should handle it when she comes in again. If sold, Crazy Eddie gets $5 ! 😂
Crazy Eddie. Should def do the follow up. You did the right thing to keep the deal going.
Disagree. I was in sales most of my career (never cars) and from what I can see Dave did a lot of legwork so he should follow up BUT Crazy Eddie should do back up if Dave isn't there.
You catch it, you skin it. It’s your deal.
Happy Thursday from Kansas City! My factory order EUV Premier got picked up today; great way to end the day! Your videos have been a great source of information; hope the folks in Detroit of aware of your efforts! Keep crushing it this month and have a terrific holiday season!
Awesome! Thank you!
Just started in sales and these videos are great. Keep it up
Thanks, will do!
You should have to handle it
If all Eddie did was a phone call but you did all the other stuff
At my store it will be your deal dave!! Only way to do it😅
Split the deal
Nice video Dave B tell everybody to watch u
you should handle it if they both show up, he should handle it if he shows up alone
Awesome review Dave.
Can you compare a Traverse and that Telluride if you still have it
Follow's?
lol...ooops. not sure why I did that.
Question, with the uptake in more EVs, will you as a dealer have to get more chargers? With a gas car you'd take it round the corner for 5 mins and fill up, job done, but with EVs needed however long to charge etc.? Another enjoyable video!
3:39 did you go to the energy settings / charge options and check to see what the target charge level is set to? If it’s set to 50% then car is reporting “Charge Complete” as expected since it’s at 50%
What's going on in the shop as far as guys wanting to work on EV's ? New training ? Many don't. Some will get near all the EV work cause their good at it-- but it will be warranty work -- which guys don't want to do all week as it doesn't pay. Maybe some vid on this subject ?
Anyone thinking there’s no inherent problems with EVs isn’t living in reality.
You're telling the truth about the Suburban ( whether new or Certified). They are hard to find especially the LT, RST, Z71, Premier and High Country. The LS is primarily on some dealerships.
In my opinion the individual who puts in the most work into the deal from beginning to end land delivers the unit over the curb should get the full benefit of deal. What ever is done on the back between the two sales associates is strictly between them.
Pretty much how we handle things here in most cases
I just want to know why Dave F. is parking that Camaro on the dirt.
That’s what I said, wow!
Gosh my euv is getting ready to ship and seeing that charge issue gives me anxiety lmao although good news it’s the only one you’ve seen
It seems it should be you being front person since you had the in person contact with the customer.
Hi Dave, love the channel! Just had a quick question for you. I ordered a 23 Bolt EUV at the end of September with Dave F. Originally he said that it was scheduled to be build around Nov 10th, but I just checked in because I didn't hear anything, and Dave said that as of now, it still does not have a date of production. Is this typical for GM? Should I be worried? Thanks!
Hey Josh, I haven't seen anything like that but no reason to worry. I just checked and your order is in line and has 4 orders in front of it.
I think the right thing to do is split the deal with crazy Eddie. That way you both win and there’s no friction in the workplace.
Interesting dilemma and I know you will work it out with Crazy Eddie. You did most of the work, so I lean towards you getting most of the commission. As a buyer, I have twice been involved in similar situations, both with non-Chevy dealerships and at the height of when inventory was really low. At one dealership, I knew they had just gotten a car in I wanted to see. It was on my short list, but I specifically wanted to see it in that color. I called the salesman I had spoken to initially on the phone. He wasn't working that day, but he picked up my message and called a colleague and asked him to work with me. Ultimately I did not buy that car, but I liked the way the two salespeople worked in tandem. At another dealership, I wanted to do a test drive and I knew the car would not stay on the lot more than a day or two before someone bought it. I happened to be in the area and went into the dealership to request the test drive. My salesperson was off that day, so another salesperson helped me. When I spoke with the original salesperson, she was very upset with me to have interacted with another salesperson when it was her day off. I did not feel it was my responsibility to come into the dealership on the salesperson's schedule. That is something that needs to be worked out between salespeople. Also interesting that neither dealership followed up with me. That is the biggest problem I see. They are not all like you, Dave - you always seem interested in building long-lasting relationships with your customers - and I commend you for that. I am planning to order my 2023 Bolt in January. I called the salesman down here in Florida several weeks ago and never even got a return phone call. I see that as the biggest problem - salespeople who don't seem to have any long-term vision. If you're not going to buy on the spot, they aren't interested in following up. I guess business is so good that it doesn't matter, but the time will come when the tables are turned, no doubt.
Being in Real Estate I think it’s whoever spoke to the customer first. And if they come in I would think he would take care of them since he spoke to them originally. Then he can maybe work something out with you.
subscribed to the facebook 😎😎
👍
Conference call with everyone. Let them choose the contact. They are both buying the car.
That’s easy you should have the deal hate to say don’t log it don’t get paid
Car business rules for sure 👍
Deal is yours imo
Maybe you should do a video with Eddie if he thinks he should get partial of the deal if the customer purchased from you.
That's normally what would happen.. since they asked for him he would get credit if it sells.
Very tough decision but I'd say split the deals like that 50-50 regardless of who did what 1st and who did what next that way it's always even and the same going forward for the both of you...just have that as an understanding.
Yup, this is the way we usually handle this sort of situation.
you should handle it. You had the personal interaction with the customer.
I think you should fight it out like the guy who threatened my dad during his short time selling cars. He figured my dad was close to 70 and he was in his 40's, so he'd win.
lol.. fisticuffs by the oak trees
@@DaveBsellsChevy Could you imagine that my dad thought it might be fun to sell cars in his retirement? I wanted to go kick the guy's ass. I would've probably ended up in jail though.
You should keep on it but split the deal cost .
crazy Eddie needs to get a few bucks
Ed should follow up with the customer but if he sells the Nox, he should split the deal AT LEAST 70/30 with you. There will come a time when the situation is reversed between the two of you.
I would think I'd get the 70%
They asked for crazy eddie when they stepped in the door, thats all it takes for half the deal. Sure he didnt log them in the syatem but they asked for him.
Don't steal the deal from Crazy Eddie. Don't be greedy!
There is no deal yet to steal
@@DaveBsellsChevy Best Solution: Crazy Eddie gets the Waffles & Syrup, you get the deal.
You seem to be the agent at this time
Crazy Eddie gets the follow-up/deal but he pays for a years worth of gym membership for ya
Dave B sells chicken n waffles
we all know the woman makes the final decision in these matters, you should follow up and then when you sell it split the commission with crazy eddie in a way that is fair to both of you, a few dollars is not worth damaging a good working relationship with another salesman.
You should definitely handle the sale 100% unless the husband comes back and starts working with Ed
DB - YOU did NOT eat that chicken and waffles with syrup !! That looks like a Crazy Eddie treat, not yours. First come, first serve, Eddie gets the deal 75 - 25 unless he settles for a chicken waffle syrup lunch, then 50-50.
