Dynamic abutments are either ti bases or castable plastic UCLA. You can find out more information at dynamicabutment.com. The dynamic abutments are not available for the Straumann BLX system, but Straumann does have their own AS variobase abutments that can be used for angle correction.
The zirconia top portion provides better esthetics. The titanium base has a lower chance of failure than if the zirconia were to extend down in to the implant.
O'Brien Dental Lab are you saying the abutment is zirconia? And, the implant is titanium? Or the implant is titanium within zirconia. I’m hoping to avoid any potential metal issues. Will an encapsulated titanium within zirconia implants prevent any potential metal issues? I can’t find a zirconia surgeon who I can trust and afford other than my local who uses your titanium zirconia mix.
@@adamli480 The implant is an alloy of titanium and zirconia. The abutment is made of separate components of zirconia and titanium. It's a titanium base that is surrounded by a zirconia "top". You would need to consult with your doctor to determine if the titanium would cause an issue for you specifically.
That's correct. Straumann released the UCLA abutments for this system after this video was made. That is the reason we added the comment about it to the description on 9/15/20. Thanks!
