How to modify the Mobile Workbench with Table Saw

- This is the second article about the modifications and about changing the bench table saw on my Mobile Workbench. I swapped the Dewalt jobsite saw with a cast iron saw with an induction motor.
The main reason I decided to do this change is to show you how easy it is to adapt this design so that you can install a different type of table saw without the need to modify the bench frames. You only need to modify the worktables.

I think this is the most versatile bench I've seen. So satisfying.
Man! I just love this bench. And now the modifications for the new saw. I've following along, of course, with this project and all others. I was reminded of the ingenious feature, how the drawer below supports the sliding table. So darn cool! I'd love to have the opportunity to work with this bench. All the features seem to operate perfectly, smoothly, and precisely!
Glad you like it!
You do have to spend some time setting the saw up... blade, fence, etc. But once done, the saw is great. Fairly compact which is Nice ruclips.net/user/postUgkxXh-4_3-ZT1fFWP91ZV7iVqzElr0lEb-a I did get an Incra Miter Gauge which takes some setup as well. The stock miter gauge can be adjusted in the miter slot with a little painter's tape... this tightens up the side to side play a lot.
Είσαι καταπληκτικός, άλλη μια δημιουργία σου που αξίζει συγχαρητήρια. Καλές γιορτές με υγεία και δημιουργική διάθεση!
Looks great! Your workbenches (especially the modular ones) are what I would like to eventually model my new workbench off of. As far as squaring up the fence, how about embedding some magnets at the edge of the tabletop surface? You could quickly put on a straight piece of metal that sticks up past the surface of the tabletop and it would stick to the magnets. Then all you would need to do is put the fence flat up against the metal and tighten the fence down. After that you could remove the piece of metal so it's not in the way.
your idea sounds great, thaks!

I love the design of this workbench/Tablesaw table. and the fact that you can modify easily for a different saw. My question is simple. I have an old belt driven craftsman saw, how can I adapt the outfeed table to fold over the rear mounted motor without having to put a big hole in middle?
When you say squaring up fence for sliding carriage, do you mean at the front edge or at any point on it ... if at front then just use the front edge (as you did in the video) as that's really quick, otherwise a a flat board which locates between the two mitre slots at a perfect right angle (say about 6" deep) and just slide the fence up against it (board can be stored in the gap underneath.
Once again, fantastic workmanship and outstanding functionality 👍
Thanks for the tips!
That’s dream workbench for me congratulations 👍
Thanks 👍
this guy has such a unique style...awesome..I wish I had more time to be invest in this hobby and not work so much
Perfect Jobs 🙏❤️
Can't wait to build that!
It's always a pleasure to watch you working and the results coming out of it. 👍 Very inovative, clean, precise and enjoyable. Happy holidays to you and to your beloved ones! 🎄🎉
Thank you very much!
Great job !
Such a great, clean design. Bravo!
Very nice build tutorial. Thank you.
Amazing work. Will you have updated plan for the new saw?
The table you made is simply perfect. However, I would like to say that you can make much cleaner cuts with a double blade saw. I think the double-bladed saws, which will make a fine scratch on the front and make smoother cuts, will suit this beautiful table. It will be very useful especially in coated chipboard cuttings.
Thanks for the tips!
what's a "double blade saw"? can you give an example?
@@scott98390 You can see an example in the video below. There is a small saw in the front. this saw makes a fine cut in the chipboard, while the large saw on the back makes the final cut. Thus, a very comfortable clean cut is made. This combination works especially well on chipboard and mdflam. Not necessary for woodcuts. ruclips.net/user/shortsRGze1OVyEbY?feature=share
Love the video and new bench concept.👍👍
every time your video are beautiful. Bravissimo
Beautiful. Wish I had seen this before I built mine!
Beside the fact that I gonna download and try to make this astonishing Utility bench, I want to know how sturdy and locked the bench is when the wheels are on the brake?
I hope to see more excellent work of your inspiring mind.
thanks, it is sturdy enough!
Love your videos!! So professional. You need to make videos more often. 😅
Cheers brother
Working on it!
Sigo los videos de youtube de 155 suscripciones y desde luego eres (junto con JSK-koubou) el mas increiblemente limpio y preciso que he visto, mi enhorabuena y muchas gracias por compartir
gracias como siempre Angel!
Good Work!
the workbench is just a bomb 💪🔥👌👍.
Wie immer klasse 👍🏻
Es wäre ein Vergnügen mit diesen Meisterwerk mal zu arbeiten 😉
I really love your creation...yet it seems very complicated plans. Would I be able to make the frame out of 2×4s? It's cheaper here in the US instead of all plywood.
A few days ago I bought a set of plans for the work bench.
The plans, information, skech up files and the whole presentation was excellent. Congratulations for a job well done.
I have also bough the axminster saw. After studying your plans, I have been thinking on three modifications for which I would appreciate your recommendations:
the first one, and since the axminster is 60mm taller than the DeWalt, would in be useful to lower the central support of the frame? it would be relatively easy to do for a new build, and would avoid issues with the cover and adjustements on the table tops.
The second question, and since the saw weights 90kg, would it be useful to install some sliders on the shelf that support the saw, so it can be moved upfront for maintenance?
and the third, would it make sense to create a support plate for a jig saw that could be interchangeable with the plate of the router, and combine with the jig saw plans that you also have on your site?
thanks in advance and again, congrats for a job well done
hi Francesc, I like the idea of making a interchangeable support plate for the jig saw. I don't know if the sliders on the shelf is a good idea, I think it's better to make the shelf fixed. I'm also not sure if it is better to lower the central support of the frame, I think it is better to use an iron L-profile as you can see in the video, and maintain the measurements of the plans
@@Paoson_Woodworking thanks for your quick response. I shall keep you posted on the progress!
Как всегда всё выполнено отлично и продуманно. Молодец!👍 И привет тебе с далекой России.✊🇷🇺
Daar sir,
Is there a new technical plan available after the modifications with the new the
Table saw?
Thanks in advance and many more videos like this.

I’ve always assumed your main gig was building custom woodwork. Curious about what you work looks like. I’m sure some are more interesting than other but would love to see. That or you’re an engineer of some sort. :)
Is the Axminster bench saw? I had a lot of issues with that. I had to return it twice for the same mechanical problem. How you feel respect the DeWalt?
Regarding the squareness of the fence, what if you use one the square that has a lip on the beam (e.g. Kinex square with base)? You register the lip on the miter slot, and then butt up the fence against the blade of the square. I think a triangle with a lip could also do the same. For example, TSO has a triangle that allows a lip attached to one of its edges.
Your workbench and and videos are really great. I was wondering how it was to install dado blades on the saw, and did you have to do any modifications for it? Forget it found the info in your video comparing it with the Dewalt 😂
Have you had any problems with that the fence moves when clamping down to do a cut?
I have not had problems, but it is certainly a problem to improve
Absolutely love this and the modular workbench plans. Just dithering over the cost of birch ply ☹️ can you confirm how many sheets of 18mm and 12mm ply each plan set need? 😃👍
thanks! here you'll find that information: bit.ly/3iRfbd9
@@Paoson_Woodworking Thankyou! project keyed up for 2023! 😀👍
Could you use locating pins to locate the fence into the sliding table? Our professional panels saw only locates with two pins and two bolts. I've seen some without the pins. The countersunk bolt auto-aligns into machined holes.
Congratulations!
It’s a very good job! 💪🏼
Is it possible to buy your plans in french? 🙏🏼
(Sorry for my bad english! 😂)
all my plans are in english and spanish, sorry! more info: www.paoson.com/en/faq
Nice one ! Not possible to ship to Europe from Axminsters though. I found the Bernardo TK 250 Pro is available and i thihk is same (all these things are MIC in the end...) looks bette than the other Dewalts/Makitas/Boshes and co.. much more silent
Question: How is the parallel guide ? are you satisfied with it ? and compared the the prev Dewalt one ? thanks
That's a beautiful setup.
Does your saws cast iron bed have a slight dip towards the centre? Some reviews say that the bed isn't perfectly flat.
yes, about 0.3mm
hope you upload next video early 🙏🙏
also i want to ask you in your website the workbench plans are already updated?
plans will be updated tomorrow, thanks!
Grandiose!
looks like you can use your mitre gauge to square up your router fence maybe?
where can I get your cut list and materials list?
Is the Axminster saw mutch better than the Dewalt?

Где можно купить такой станок подскажите пожалуйста я Вас очень прошу заранее благодарен
Thank you master 🎉
4:48 you can print a transparant sticker with gradient markings and put that on the sliding surface. Patrric Sullican has a great video on this: ruclips.net/video/u_qUJPm_PZ8/видео.html
Hi! What's that tool you use for those lifting casters? I just bought some but don't have the tool.
He designed and made it. Pretty sure it was included in a video he released for his mobile benches. I thought it was a really cool tool.
