- What do you think - was the London 2012 Paralympics the greatest Games ever? Has it changed our perceptions about people with a disability and inspired and excited the world? Tell us what you think! This video features some of the biggest upsets - Alan Fonteles beating Oscar Pistorius in the 200m T44 race, Will Bayley losing in the table tennis finals and Jody Cundy's cycling disqualification. It also features some of the biggest highs of the Games - former F1 driver Alex Zanardi winning his first gold in Brands Hatch and Ellie Simmonds winning her race and being presented a medal by British Prime Minister David Cameron. It also features Jonnie Peacock's epic win in the Olympic Stadium. The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) is the global governing body of the Paralympic Movement. The IPC organizes the Summer and Winter Paralympic Games, and serves as the International Federation for nine sports, for which it supervises and co-ordinates the World Championships and other competitions. The IPC is committed to enabling Paralympic athletes to achieve sporting excellence and to develop sport opportunities for all persons with a disability from the beginner to elite level. In addition, the IPC aims to promote the Paralympic values, which include courage, determination, inspiration and equality. For further information, please visit www.paralympic.org. Not just the Paralympics, but the Olympics as a whole, in London in 2012, will always be one of my favorite Olympic games of all time.
Who else gets goosebumps whenever they watch this film?
still do. I watch occasionally every couple of months
Not only do I get goosebumps but tears on my face...
This video brings tears to my eyes EVERY time I watch it
The Olympics gets huge attention every year. 2012 was the year the Paralympics became equal. London was the year it wasn't called a disability but an ability. I find everyone who took part truly inspirational.
Proud to be British.
Absolutely incredible. I was there when David Weir won the t54 5000m final and had tears in my eyes! It was such a brilliant day out for my family. The spectators and staff were all in good spirits and the facilities were fantastic. What an amazing summer. I'm proud to say I was a part of it
London was thw best games ever!! Hope to see it back soon here!!
People who dislike this video are the real disabled people!! One of the most inspiring videos ever! Paralympians are the real heroes
Fantastic! What a summer we were treated to here in London. As a family we saw, countless gold medals, world records and some of the finest sport in the world. As well as a great opening and closing ceremony befitting of the greatest Paralympics ever. Bravo...
Utterly, utterly brilliant!!
Exceptionally proud to have had the greatest Paralympics in my country and to have been a Games Maker!!
The Paralympians have inspired us all.
LOVED wheelchair basketball!!
Genuinely can't explain it, I'm not an emotional person, but just sat and rewatched this and couldn't stop crying. I was so proud of my country 4 years ago, this whole event changed the perception of negativity and failure that my generation grew up with. These are the kind of values I can relate to - the struggles towards achievement that are worthy of commendation. It sends words of encouragement to everyone that their most daring dreams are possible!
I was there as a volunteer; every time I see a video like this I fill up with pride knowing that I was part of the team that made it happen (and I also got to see some amazing sport as well!). The athletes were amazing and inspiring and I hope that the tagline of Inspire a Generation will come true. Here's to Rio.
Dare I say it: there were more inspiring/exciting/moving moments during the Paralympics than the Olympics. And thank you London!
paralympics need to be on the media more often! THIS IS SKILLS!
I spent so many hours watching these games on RUclips. It is a shame that they were not broadcast on network television. These men and woman train and compete at a level that most able bodied people can only dream of. I hope that the Rio games will be picked up, so the rest of the world can be inspired and not look at a persons disability, but see the person. Well done!!!
This is truly amazing and inspirational, so sad they don't transmit them in my country (Mexico) I'm friendo of guy who won 2 Gold medals, 1 silver medal and 1 copper medal in those paralympic games, he's mexican too and his name is Gustavo Sánchez, we met in High School and he's an amazing person.
Aedra Daedra The Rio 2016 Games will be broadcasted in Mexico as America Movil has already purchased rights for it: www.paralympic.org/news/ipc-confident-breaking-paralympic-tv-viewing-records-rio-2016
that was a beautiful video. truely inspiring. thanks for the upload!
It was an experience I wish to relieve again like I did last year, I love London and your universities, I went to UCL for 3 years hoping for masters soon here. I will hopefully come back to London soon next year. From an American. :) . Trumped our Olympics, think we need to step up a gear when we win again ;) .
Truly inspirational!
Attended 5 Paralympic events & loved every one. Wish I could have got tickets to more events. My favourite moment was Richard Whitehead storming to victory in the 200 metres - I have watched the race over and over again and it still has the wow factor. Delighted to see he was awarded an MBE. It's amazing how many Paralympians I now recognise after London 2012.
Great respect for these people
Amazing Games! My personal highlight (after many Games): the spectators! :)
Enjoyed these so much. Wish it never ended.
Was honoured to be a small part of this great event as a Gamesmaker. Inspiring and emotional, memories to last a lifetime.

Mr. Donuts aka Alex Zanardi is amazing! What a great moment for him.
Nothing else in my life will ever compare to standing in the Olympic stadium, a wall of noise and cheering behind me, watching the best athletes across the globe perform to the world. I am glad and proud to have been part of a generation that lived to see the Olympics and Paralympics hosted in the United Kingdom.
Dont hold them... let them flow..

Huge respect from India 🇮🇳
Amazing, Just Amazing.
This makes me cry .. Well done London! Well done UK!
Without a doubt the best Paralympic Games to date.
The home of the Paralympic movement. A record 2.8 million ticket sales. An enthusiastic and welcoming British public on a high from the recent Olympic success. And the home team was massively successful too.
i try hard not to cry but this is worth of crying for
thousands of lessons , taught from this small video . !!!

I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for Oscar Pistorius.
What he accomplished for disabled sports is unbelievable. And it's sad that people seem to want to forget that.

Great video! Anyone knows the song name? Ty :)
Believe me, really wonderful, this people are the motor of the world, the soul of the life
I cant find the song to download anywhere... any ideas where i can find it?
Memories to cherish.. whats the music?
For me.. all of them are heros
The one thing that was disappointing was that the BBC did not cover it. Channel 4 did a good job but i cant help feeling that the countries number one channel should of been involved as they broadcast world wide and could of given more varied coverage, i thought this sent out a negative message about how we view disabled people in this country but am glad the whole thing was a success
great video but missing a certain jason smyth from ireland!
As an Athlete which attended the games, is there any way I can download a copy of this video? I would like to keep it as a keepsake from the games
I know the titles of the songs but where can I find the songs to download or buy them?
This, is sport
This video will get 100,000 views first i mean it was just amazing from peacocks win to ellie simmonds it was AWSOME i went there my self and it was AMAZING
Are there videos of the shot putters? My daughter has cerebral palsy and wants to learn how to participate in this sport but one of her coaches is trying to hold her back...would love to show it to the coach just to show her what can be done. My daughter uses forearm crutches and can balance. Thank you.
This video will get 100,000 views first just becuase i think that the whole paralympics where amazing from sell out crowds to peacocks win i went to it and it was just AMAZING.
Hell yes..........
This vid makes me feel completely inadequate. And, I'm okay with that. It pushes me to be a better person.
