Makes me happy to know there are great people, disabled or otherwise, that are helping to bring those dreams to life. Makes me happy to know there are more good people than bad in the world. All of us coming together to celebrate human tenacity & grit, sharing a universal feeling of overwhelming, tear-jerking joy. Televise this like you do everything else, people WILL watch this, they will want to. It’s impossible to have enough categories to make sport “fair” for all athletes. Because disabilities are so individual and where are you going to get enough opponents with exactly the same diagnosis. But the good thing is that we don’t really care too much. We are just enjoying our sport and challenging ourselves. There aren’t many financial gains in winning for disabled athletes, and when you have had a life threatening major illness or injury, you often have a different mind set.
