- In this video, I'm going to share with you how I recovered my RUclips channel after it was hacked. It wasn't an easy process, but I learned a lot along the way and I'm glad I was able to get my channel back!

I've just woken up to see its happening again this morning. Two big youtubers I follow with 1.4million subscribers their account seems to be live right now under some cryptocurancy name, you can't even chat if you've not been subbed 15 years or more. Crazy and there is no way to report it

my yt account was hacked today it had over 1k subscribers , i understand exactly how u feel man, in my case right now who ever got into my account has information to my id , passport and international number. i will try contact youtube and be patient but im going to call police about this as well
Yeah these people has information about our id, me too I thought that the one who stole my channel is my close friend,cz in april I signed in using his phone and I forget to signout,but nowaday He don't want me to check all about his youtube life!

Going through this as we speak. We just completed the form and the waiting game has begun. Everything in your video describes our situation and feelings to a t. It's a HORRIBLE feeling. Just try to stay positive and not dwell on it. It will take some time, for me it took about 3-5 days, but once you get your channel back you should be alright. If you're wondering about daily views and all that, it returns to normal a few days after you get your account back and fix it back to the way it was. RUclips partner support was a life saver for me.
@@hammerdance it really is horrible. From our research, it seems like several RUclips Accounts were hacked yesterday, turning them all into the same fake Tesla channel/Elon Musk crypto scam. The good news is that it seems they may be improving the recovery process, as we already have our Google account back (the one we're now messaging from). It took less than 24 hours after we lost access! The scary part is that once we got back into the email account, we saw that we had received the worst email ever stating that our RUclips Channel has been permanently deleted. Because of your video though, we know not to panic, and will patiently wait as RUclips (hopefully) works on restoring our channel. And THANK YOU SO MUCH about the comment regarding the daily views. We actually had our best two days on our channel EVER right before our channel got hacked, so even if we get our channel back, we are so worried that all our momentum will be lost. Your comment gives us confidence that the long term effects of this hacking on our channel will be minimal.
How did this result for you? I experience the same thing and for 3 months Google hadn’t fixed it and because of that all my videos that were deleted fell outside of their 60 day back up saving...I hope no one else experiences this including you
@@SamuraiKibiji so sorry to hear that. We got our channel back after around 4 days. All videos were only set to private and not deleted. It took around a month for our channel to regain its momentum.

Hey! I would definitely start by making sure to set all your recovery information, enable 2FA, and use the Google Authenticator app. If you want take it a step further, you can also buy a physical security key!

@MikeLandingin yes, took a TON of effort and I went through the youtube Twitter team. I learned to NEVER trust any email, only messages from within the app itself.
@MikeLandingin My channel suffered a lot afterwards, had a lot of people unsub, luckily I had my second channel still but my main account never fully recovered.
Just subbed because of this. Same thing happened to my IG account but never got it back. Some people did. I didn’t find the right professionals. Can you tell us what questions RUclips community asked so we know what we need to prepare just in case?

So sorry this happened to you! This is a literal nightmare that I've seen a lot of people getting hit with. Did RUclips give you any tips on preventing this from happening in the future since you already had max level of security on your account?
It was a nightmare! However, I recently added multiple layers of physical security keys to all accounts so that should do the trick.

I can only imagine the stress that situation put on you. Glad you got to get everything recovered. That's crazy though! Those as wholes getting past 2fa verification. How they get access to your phone is beyond me.

is your ads instantly go back on your channel after the recovery. Because in my case, i recovered my channel 2 days ago, but until now, i am still running with NO ads on all of my videos. No revenues at all, but I am still monetized with GREEN $ sign, as I can contact the support but they can't give me solid answer on why i have no ads.

Get yourself that yubikey lock all your accounts with it don't download anything from emails esp if they claiming to be a company that wants to sponsor do research and also don't change your phone number that often try to keep your same number

I'm going through this right now... I'm on day 4 since this happened, same exact situation, but I haven't heard back from yt support in 2 going on 3 days since I replied to them that I wasn't able to recover my gmail after they got back to me first time after I filled the form, they told me to escalate it but I don't know if I did it right? I replied back reporting that I wasn't successful and to please escalate my ticket, that was 3 days ago now, did you go through the same thing? Like them asking you to escalate if you weren't able to do it on the first attempt? I wish I could DM you directly to ask you more about your experience, my anxiety is through the roof and I've had several panic attacks and I just need reassurance that I'm doing things right 😰
Sounds very similar to my situation. I wouldn’t worry to much, I wasn’t sure if I escalated it correctly either but after about 2 days they got back to me and then from that point I think I answered one more email and the next morning I had everything back in order.

Changed everything and updated my security on it, I have just replied back to the email from yt support asking them what to do next to get my channel back online, so crossing fingers they get back to me soon, thank you so much for replying!!!
Idk why but whenever I hear a channel gets hacked. It always has something to do with Tesla/Elon Musk.
This happened like 2-3x times.
It’s a known hack/scam, it’s been going on pretty frequently for the last 6 months to a lot of RUclipsrs. Hopefully we can crack down on this soon.

The strange thing is you would think youtube would make this kind of information available to Everyone on RUclips to where it's just about common knowledge. Imagine someone who does not even know how to type?!? Or doesn't know how to even change the ring tone on there phone? I can't stand how they say it's user friendly,
but only if you have a 130 IQ. It's like they don't know half the people on RUclips had to have someone help them or just flat out had to just do it for them, just to navigate the channel. They're are so many things that youtube acts like are common sense but isn't. If you find yourself in this situation good luck. He litterly had to go to forums to try and get answers because youtube does not make it simple to just navigate yourself. It's insane!

Huh yah i didn’t even see this go down. But glad you were able to get it back. There was a crypto scam going around on Instagram and my girlfriend lost her Instagram from it. She tried every recovery method that Instagram had and nothing worked. She just had a scrap that Instagram, and start a new one.

I tweeted at teamyoutube, they replied saying they'd DM if I followed them, I followed them and they didn't DM. I tweeted at them again and again, nothing.
Later, I tweeted at them from a different account (making sure to follow them first) and they did respond, and they sent me a form as well!

I contact youtube support but they gave me some useful gideness that I tried many times without success..so i replied them again with more help..just waiting now :(
I had same thing happined TWICE... I have no idea how do they by pass 2 step identification.. phone, google authme, recomery email.. they did not recover my email but alteast they moved my youtube channel to new account.. 2nd time they recovered all. Also thx to google, they get all the passwords.. facebook, Instagram, twitter,tiktok...
They were posting crypto scams everywhere..
