17:49 no, the sign is leaning to the left. If this is a reflection of it, then it would be angled the other way 🤷🏻♂️ The Google view isn’t flipped and neither is the photo. It can’t be that sign
That was the one piece of info I got on the task. And remember, that was the postcode of the client, not the target. I made the assumption that the target might be in a rough proximity.
Now tell me what if you had not known to search in Leeds. That's a big advantage to begin with. It is clear that it's a public place with a shisha in it. So 10 minutes in Google Maps checking all 20 or so shisha bars is all ot takes. Did it myself, not much of a special intelligence sourcing technique.
Yep exactly. I’m not sure without the Leeds lead. Remember, you still have to be capable enough to do the ID and verification of the image. These days I’d probably try some of the AI geolocation tools that are popping up.

Affinity Photo, why?
@@theGaryRuddell thanks. Because it looks like it could be a good substitute for photoshop
@sirsneedster it was. Until the AI stuff came in to play!
@@theGaryRuddell oh shoot, so what’s the go-to tool now?
@sirsneedster for editing? Photoshop!
How did you know the postcode?
That was the one piece of info I got on the task. And remember, that was the postcode of the client, not the target. I made the assumption that the target might be in a rough proximity.
Enjoyed the video! What photoeditor is that?
Affinity Photo 😊
Now tell me what if you had not known to search in Leeds. That's a big advantage to begin with. It is clear that it's a public place with a shisha in it. So 10 minutes in Google Maps checking all 20 or so shisha bars is all ot takes. Did it myself, not much of a special intelligence sourcing technique.
Yep exactly. I’m not sure without the Leeds lead. Remember, you still have to be capable enough to do the ID and verification of the image.
These days I’d probably try some of the AI geolocation tools that are popping up.
@@theGaryRuddell If you were feeling fairly confident (but not 100%) in your answer, would you have gone to the place in person as a "customer" to check out more details? (Assuming, that is, you were already relatively close to the location.)
@@hengee90 Absolutely!
what photo editor software is this?
It’s Affinity Photo. But it doesn’t matter. All image editors can do these things.
What screenshot application did you use? Loved this
I use Cleanshot X 😊
@@theGaryRuddellthank you so much!
Truly incredible ❤❤
this video was really cool, if i wanted to pursue this as a career what would the job title be? OSINT Specialist maybe?
Hey! Yeah OSINT specialist/analyst - also SOCMINT too (social media intelligence). Or just Intelligence Analyst :)
Hi Gary,
Great video. Would you mind saying what software did you use for the image analysis.
Thank you
It’s Affinity Photo but you can use pretty much any photo editing software for this!

Some of us get paid to do professional ‘stalking’ 😉
Step aside Sherlock Holmes Gary Rudell is here!
Elementary CarlMed 😜
The names have changed since this video was released.
The Halo Lounge has become the ShaSha Lounge.
And the Grove Café has become the Route 66 "Pizza, Burgers..."
Also, the road sign (Maximum 20) has been straightened.
They straightened the sign!? We must fix this.
Hey ignore my handle name, but I really appreciate your videos. I am currently learning practical ethical hacking from TCM Sec, you can consider me as a total noob at this point. But I love the OSINT thing. Any advice for a newbie?
Handle is great! We are all many things! TCM is really nice! 👏🏼 advice for a newbie on OSINT: I guess I’ve covered a fair amount of it here on the channel but I’d recommend learning Maltego and Google Dorking. Two skills you’ll need for sure!
Thank you So Much for the advice & I am looking forward to see many more amazing videos from you. @@theGaryRuddell once again thank you.
What computer program are you running?
The photo editor is Affinity Photo. But all photo editors can do this 👍🏼
@@theGaryRuddellthanks, dude! 😊
Great video 🤞🏾
Very kind 😊
Little bit of background I know exactly where to look
Not that impressive. If you hadn't had the clue that it was from Leeds there's no way you could tell where the picture was taken. How would you figure it out then if you hadn't got that clue?
Yeah I would have been stuck then. But fortunately, I did have that piece of information. Such is life.
Amazing!
I know you did more, but for this case, all you had to do was find the right game, then look at the hookah, know it's that type of club, look though Google Maps photos (comparing), and locate it.
Correct.
Rainbolt would have a field day with this one
Yeah I’d love to give it to him without the Leeds intel
That's a good book you've got behind you there
Sandworm?
I need to learn this skill
It's just Googling really!
Ok i would probobly never think of adjusting the color of the image well played gg
And now you will! Knowledge has been gained 😊
Thanks bro ❤
Welcome 😊
Do not work. Gives any photos ou there. Do not even pick up the photo's loaded from the internet
Hey sorry can you rephrase this? I can’t understand what you mean.
Well played!
just like on the Baker Street 21 investigation
What’s this?! I’m intrigued!
