Angelina Jolie and Jonny Lee Miller hung out in his Dumbo apartment. Using photos from his @instagram and an article from the @dailymail we're able to figure out where he lives. Come see how!

What does this mean 😂

Thanks Flakrr! Appreciate you stopping by!
it's really not that hard, these people are way too flagrant with showing us their private lives. right now they live in the lap of luxury in exclusive circles with boyguards and police escorts. if someone really wanted to do something, they could. but the times being as they are, people are worried about just surviving.
@cagneybillingsley2165 you’re right. Nothing is too hard when capable and driven people put their mind to it. Threat actors especially.
If you post it online assume someone can and probably will find you with it.
@lowwastehighmelanin correct!
First video I've watched from your channel and I'm a subscriber now!
The editing, the content, everything was very well made! This channel can become the MKBHD of Open-Source Intellingence and everything intelligence related!❤
That’s very kind of you 😊
Let’s do it! 🚀
it is even possible to try to re-arrange the view out of the window in google earth and then carefully turn 180° with a pretty much similar result ;)
maybe it is even possible to use the 3D-line function from the tall building through the bridge to the house - not tested though...
thank you for this great tutorial!
Yeah there’s a few ways to achieve the result we are aiming for! Thanks for watching 😊
Was waiting for this video for a while! So good mate! Keep going!
Thanks for your patience! HUGE video update coming on the 31st August!
There are so many ways to get to the goal - always nice to get some new inspiration! Keep it up!
Also tried to find it by myself before watching the video, but invested a bit more time googling some pictures to see what those posters on the door say. One of them said something like "Service entrance Water Street", so even without knowing the area Dumbo you would be able to find it pretty fast. Things are really transparent these days.
Yeah it’s crazy how simple it is these days! Probably only going to get easier too
Nice investigation! I love the disclaimer of not waiting for the dude to walk his dog 🤣
Yeah that would be weeeeeiiiirrrdddd.
Another great video Gary!
Thanks Scott for checking it out!!!

Cheers for saying so!
That was really interesting. The more I watch OSINT videos the more I feel stupid! 😅
Thanks! OSINT is super fun though. Even if you just treat it like a game, you’ll learn loads! Try GeoGuessr!
This is so scary. Indeed the internet is not made for person who wanna be private.
You’re right!
If you can better identify the lowest level you're able to see on "the spikey" building. Then you can probably figure out the height of said floor, I'm sure the height of that bridge is available online somewhere. So you don't just have a straight line between "spikey" building > bridge > window. You have an angled line, and that angel will tell you the exact floor.
Yea that’s it. That was my principle, I just didn’t have the easiest tools/precision to nail it! To be honest, I would get the exact apartment through social engineering 👍🏼
man, I am doing that way way back whenever we're intrigue or interested in something like investigation sh**.
My friends used to call me a stalker when I would like to find something in the internet using google map and some pictures
But I didn't know OSINT before. So, to conclude, so we're not a Stalker but an OSINT Practitioner haha
Btw, I did enroll to Blue Team - Cyber Threat Hunting course. Thank you so much!
OSINT practitioner is what we say 😜
And congrats on enrolling! Are you enjoying it?
It's about to start in the coming next weeks. I'll keep you posted since I now watch your videos and I really learn a lot. I also now listen to Sandworm full audiobook because of you. (I'm not a reader lol)
Hopefully, I can get a job related in the next months abroad. By the way, would you recommend any certification to start coming from a Blue Team? I'm not good at reviewing for exam, maybe for a starter that would "stonks" me up the ladder? Thanks in advance!
Blue Team Labs and Hack The Box Academy could be a good way to go!
With NADIR imagery (straight down), you can use the measure tool to drop a point on the near-side Brooklyn Bridge arch, then a point a the top of another building, then with the last point, get the measure line to go from the top of the building through your first marker, and you'll be surpeised how close you can get. Then you can take two points, and get them to converge.
In the picture of the cat, there are two buildings which line up to key points on the bridge pier that should only converge at the center of the camera's lens. Given those building's fixed heights and the fixed height of the bridge pier - you should be able to come up with a 3D point convergence along two rays. If you did this in Google Earth, you could look at the area in 3D and just line the camera position up with the camera shot - Google has those 3D models of buildings built-in. Kinda takes all the fun out of it.
This is wonderful. Just when you talk about NADIR, have you seen the LiDAR scans of the Mayan ruins on National Geographic?!
@@theGaryRuddell I have, LIDAR and airborne photogrametry are really coming into their stride. Hardware like the Reigl VQ-1560i-DW (IR and Green lasers) give precise distance measurement and shape files, and Wide-swath cameras like he PhaseOne PAS-880 with both high resolution NADIR and simultaneous oblique cameras allow for fast turn-around 3D model generation with photogrammetry or enhanced with LIDAR Mesh correction of buildings and terrain (even under tree canopies or "bathimetry", the contours underwater).
Some of the newer synthetic aperture RADAR is getting smaller (drone sized!!) and more powerful (as edge-compute power catches up), and so it's also finding its way into surveying and modeling. It's kind of a renaissance of sensor fusion underway. Imagery that could only be dreamed about in movies like "Enemy of the State" or was held by the most secret enclaves of government-scale intelligence agencies is now within reach of even smaller companies and well equipped individuals.
Then there's "Gorgon Stare" Wide-Area Motion Imagery - "Enemy of the State" like imagery made real. Nothing like 8.1gigapixels of forensically-searchable video, with keyhole/chip-out video feeds in real-time that can be sent down to foot-borne assets for a given target of interest...
@Real_Tim_S jeepers. Things are really moving fast!
Hello kind Sir, may I offer my sincere gratitude for finding your hugely underrated channel (well, that's a different story I guess) and express my admiration for your skills and say (after all those praises, ofc) that real hacker DO use terminal, not because they have to but because they enjoy it. I understand not much piping of commands in inverse picture search but hey, but if you enjoy all this I am more that willing to bet a pound (your, British, ofc) you enjoy tinkering in the terminal as well... all the best and may the force be with you.
Always in the Terminal my friend 😜

This is really cool omg!
Gotta practice the OSINT skills somehow!
I've tried to find it as well, but it took me a while because I didn't pick up on the scaffolding. But then I realized it had to be close to the water since the guy is rich and also the entrance had to be on the west side, because of the shadows in the picture.
Shadows and deductions. I like your thinking!
Hello Gary
Just because we can - it's the right most window, fourth floor from the top!
1) you can use 3D view to top over the building to get the exact position - to cover the exactly same buildings with the bridge structure - you get the right most window column
2) you can use the other way - from the high buildings accross the water body - the one on the left of the bridge, the upper compact part is exactly at the top edge of the bridge - if you align with that line on the building, the top of the bridge projects exactly at the fourth floor.
3) using 3D view on Google Maps one can clearly see the plants behins the window...
Anyway - thank you for sharing that basics with all of us.
😀
Good effort!
Hi Gary, another very well presented tutorial/example of using imagery in OSINT. Enjoyed this, keep going Sir.
As Columbo would say ‘just one more thing’ . . .
The wine is a (Sir) Michael Peters (assessed to be a) Chardonnay, approximately £150 a bottle!
All the very best to you and yours.
Columbo! Legend!
Yeah £150 - is that cheap or expensive for folks with millions in the bank? Celebration wine? Or just normal wine?
@@theGaryRuddell Oh, I think Gary that would just be a ‘normal’, anything more exciting would surely be champagne.
As an afterthought, Angelina is reported to be 1.69 meters tall. Using this height measurement and the position of the posters on the glass, the position of the lock on the door, and an allowance for Angelina’s ‘kitten heels’, if there was an ‘unknown’ exiting after Angelina, a very good approximation of the height of the ‘unknown’ could be made.
Quite interesting!!! 🤯
Quite!

about last building it will depend when you stop. If you stop earlier then you get lower level.
Yeah you’d need a better tool that Google Maps I think to accurately pull it off. Or be better at it than I am 😂 which is probably quite easy!
"Dumbo" is not a "name" but an "acronym": Down Under Manhattan Bridge Overpass and that already makes the search area relatively small
Yep! Without that we would be a little stuck!
Confession: I once used a skyline in the background of a youtubers house to see where he lived because I could not believe the views he had. I found it, and never disclosed this info or how I did and always felt weird about it. Now I see that I have a skill that I genuinely could use for good.
Good skills. Yeah these little skills are exploited by bad guys AND good guys. So that’s the most important thing: use them for good.
It seemed to me that the penthouse floor has a lower ceiling height as the top row in the rectangle of rectangular windows is lower than the bottom row and in the lower floors, both window rows look about the same height.
Nice observation 🔥

Sherlock would of found this by the height of the shadows and the taste of the wind
Haha right!?
but what if the pictures from street view would have been from a time where there was no construction/ scaffolding going on there?
The doors were still incredibly unique to that building entrance. You’d have found that eventually.
That's why I would have done these steps in the reverse order. First use the line method to significantly narrow down where in Dumbo you need to be looking, then do Streetview later to attempt to validate. Streetview can often be several years old depending on where you live. Houses can also be painted over time.
@abcdefgh1 yeah whatever way gets you there the fastest and easiest 😊
And whilst buildings can be painted, structures will still largely remain the same 👍🏼
I Have done this so many times out of personal interest. I just never knew it was called OSINT.

so, is this legal or just stalking?
The information is publicly available. Imagine this, Johnny has his own website where he publishes photos of the view from his apartment. Well...that's what he has. It's called his public Instagram profile. How's that stalking?

0:15 they'd shot on a completely different rooftop by silvercup
Interesting! Got a source? Or a coordinate?
@@theGaryRuddell NYC actually pre-dates Hollywood as the cradle of cinema, though Silvercup Studios is younger. Anyway, all their nearby rooftops are pre-scouted and catalogued (surfaces, access, feaures) with prelim property release & other paperwork already done / boilerplate. Those sorts of things can save a film production weeks and tens of thousands (if planned) or millions (if an unmitigated delay). So the wrong (Queensboro) bridge being in that rooftop scene view wasn't merely lazy - it may have been a fall-back.
Manhattan block grid runs square to East River - so from across the water it's plain to see which street # block you're across from, Gary.
@@AlexKarasev interesting. I see Silvercup on the map. But it doesn’t line up with the Con Edison library in the way the rooftop I found does. Any ideas? Green screened?!
@@theGaryRuddell like I said, silvercup is just a filming studio / sound stage there & they pre-scouted the available rooftops in the vicinity. It's NOT their own.
Look at the Manhattan skyline - it's "Manhattanhenge" for a reason. You can see which street # you're at across the river as all other streets are angled.
Also note that my comment is made strictly in the context of the roofrop shot cited. That rooftop's location have zero to do with street level or apartment scenes, and sometimes even seemingly the same scene / location can in fact be shot at 3 places in 3 different times and we think it's the same spot.
