+DAVID WALKER Easy David. Blue Note took a risk on them and it's surely paying off....
+DAVID WALKER I know for a fact that they were NOT influenced by the Bad Plus. In fact, they hadn't even heard about that band until the (American) press starting making that comparison. The piano-bass-drums trio that was the real influence on them was the Esbjorn Svensson Trio (indeed, the first track of their first album is a tribute to E.S.T.)
but i related them to bad plus immediately, either the story it is. they sound great anyway and they are not bad plus at all, i mean not a bit,
sound different.

What a strange critique. The line up is a 'rip off'? So is every rock band with a guitar, bass, drums & singer a rip off of the Beatles? Is every rap group a rip off of N.W.A.? Is every country band with a steel guitar and a fiddle a rip off of Hank Williams?
Oh and hating on a band's name seems like quite a stretch, it doesn't seem like that should affect much.
