Folk seems like such a great blind book pick! And the 'I cannot be held accountable' followed by the sip of the stanley is iconic and I have no choice but agree. Loved the vid!
My wife and I were on holiday in the UK this time last year and visited the same bookshops on a day trip in Bath. This brought back such lovely memories and has made me a bit jealous, sitting here in the Australian heat 😂
Your photography is just lovely here. I really appreciate it when book shoppers show the outdoors, and also SLOWLY pan the book collections so viewers can see what's on offer. I paused on that giant board with staff picks at 3:30. I love it when shops feature those. Congratulations on the blind book date win. I'm loving that for you, Katharine. And let me assure you of one thing. I believe there will come a time in your life when you will be able to buy as many books as you'd like. This could ALSO turn into a problem!!! (67-year-old reading 20 books in the Read-What-You-Own challenge. I won't buy any new books until I've read 20 books I have.) Excellent video.
Lovely vlog and just subscribed. I've lived in Bath all my life and I love seeing Bath through the eyes of a visitor, but I'm embarrassed to say I've never been to Toppings, Mr B's, or Persephone Books (must change that soon).🙂 Next time you're in Bath, there is a bookshop in Margaret's Buildings (off The Circus), and George Bayntums in Manvers Street (near the train station), which you might like. Have a great week.
Aw thanks for recs, I’ll definitely check them out! I completely get you about being embarrassed, I lived in Edinburgh for 6 years and I’ve never even visited the castle 😂
This was great. I visited Bath once but never went to any book shops. Next time for sure! I've been in Toppings in St Andrews and it's an amazing shop.
I used to live in Bath and Mr Bs is everyones favourite place😊 I think the indoor market you visited may have been the Guildhall? Glad you had a great day despite the weather!
I love Bath, ever since I went to University there - I am so glad to see that the used bookstall is still there in the market, I bought loads of great books there when I was on a tight budget. I love spending ages browsing a jumble of books, you never know what you will find! I also lived in Edinburgh for a while, and totally get what you mean, it definitely has the same vibe as Bath.
Just discovered your channel, I love bath! We go on the park and ride so that might be an easier option if parking is a bit of a nightmare. Love toppings and mr b’s and the Waterstones there is amazing ❤ love bath, hope you get the chance to go at Christmas when the market is on 😊
wait- first of all, I love that description on the blind book. second of all, it made me think of Mischief Acts (which I have but haven't read yet) ALSO by Zoe Gilbert. third of all, I'm SO in my fairytale era right now (it was only the beginning last time I mentioned it in a previous comment, lol) and that includes folktales, so now I'm like, okay I need to pick up Folk and Mischief Acts! I hope Folk turns out to be at least an interesting read, if not really enjoyable, so the blind book purchase was worth it!
After finishing your video, I now have to go back, to Bath, and investigate the other book shops. I’m the same as you, I adore books and like the idea of book shopping and holding real books in my hands, but they can be overwhelming when there are so many. Thank you for your video, enjoy your purchases. Ps I started Emily Wilde’s Map of the Otherlands yesterday 😊, I’m enjoying it so much.

giggled when you put the string around your head like a bow lol
I'll turn anything I can into an accessory lol
New to book tube and finding my way around. Very nice place Bath. Best wishes from wet, windy darkest Lancashire.

we missed the market this year because we were up in Scotland but hopefully we'll get to it in 2024, it looks magical!
I used to live in Bath so I loved the shots of the city and the bookstores! I hope you enjoy your books😊
It's such a beautiful city!

I've never heard of Zoe Gilbert but this book sounds so incredible! Really hope it lives up to the description haha
Loved your video!
@@Charlie-ez5zr thank you! ❤️
I found Toppings for the first time, two weeks ago. It’s such a lovely place to spend time in. I bought far too much!
So gorgeous but the books are far too tempting! 😂
