    This is the best cadenza piece of Beethoven violin concerto I ever heard. Mutter is the best!

      xinsheng wang , the composer of this cadenza is Fritz Kreisler. Mutter is fantastic, too.

    The glissandos on the double stop fugal section starting at around 2:10, OMG. Face melting violin.

    What makes this so beautiful is she is playing this from her inner most being......with such passion

    Monumental.........and: love seeing violinists playing without a shoulder rest.

      are there any other concert violinists who play with no shoulder rest....no one comes to mind...anyone know??

      @@lotusbuds2000 Jascha Heifetz, Itzhak Perlman, Ruggiero ricci, Aaron Rosand, Yehudi Menuhin, Leonid Kogan, Joseph Szigeti etc....Most of the great violinists played/play without a shoulder rest. Maybe a coincidence? Maybe not!!

    Love mutter’s rubato- so fierce and powerful. If you want a more subtle version, check out Jansen’s. Those double stops are beautiful

      Personally I think Beethoven was all passion..subtlety is not

    Compared with other versions, Mutter's style has done best justice to the Kreisler cadenza

    This is really a Candenza... She made a difference among the standard structure and she did not imitate others violinist's style.. but more slurred bowing as written by Kreisler would be nicer .. I think

  • @szakacsfulop

    Is it not too harsh?

    • @reddragonready
      @reddragonready  5 лет назад +3

      To me it's perfection. Beethoven shouldn't be played too prettily...he was a fiery personality

    Is it possible to get the sheet music of this? I would love to do an analysis of this for a school project if anybody has any info.

    • @reddragonready
      @reddragonready  3 года назад +1

      It's the Kreisler ( first name Fritz) cadenza. I am sure it is widely available in stores selling sheet music.Or for free online if you search on those phrases.

    Magnificent. Who is the conductor? Which orchestra?

    • @reddragonready
      @reddragonready  2 года назад

      It's the Berliner Philharmoniker conducted by Seiji Ozawa. The occasion was the memorial concert of von Karajan's birth.
